Alicia is the Princess of Dipan, a powerful island nation, and is the current SoulJar of Silmeria Valkyrie as of the beginning of the second game. She wasn't meant to be anything more than a mortal vessal for Silmeria, like Platina would later be for Lenneth, but something went wrong with the Sovereign's Rite, causing Silmeria to remain conscious while Alicia recieved a soul of her own. Her condition as such caused her father to send her away to a castle in the middle of nowhere, which resulted in her developing a shy, timid personality. Dipan, meanwhile, led by Barbarossa and his court mages, decided to mount [[RageAgainstTheHeavens a war against the Aesir]]. Eventually, Odin discovered that Silmeria had awakened while still inside Alicia and sent Hrist to kill the girl and retrieve Silmeria's soul. At the beginning of ''VideoGame/ValkyrieProfile2Silmeria'', this is the cause of Alicia and Silmeria being forced to escape the castle and begin their own journey to save Midgard and humankind from the wrath of the Aesir. Being the container for a Valkyrie, it should be no surprise that her Soul Crush is Nibelung Valesti. [[spoiler:Eventually.]]

* SmugSmiler: When he reappears to join Alicia's uphill battle against Odin, he caps off his HeroicSelfDeprecation with a smug grin.
-->'''Alicia''': Please, help us!
-->'''Lezard''': Of course. [[BlatantLies Though I doubt I'll be much of a match for him]].

* LoveMakesYouEvil: You can probably guess just from having read this far that he was never exactly a nice person. Falling for Lenneth, however, pushed him into the darkest, deepest parts of the MoralEventHorizon when he started exacting all kinds of horrors on those around him in order to get her. He admits to the party in the second game that becoming a god and ruling over all is just a fleeting fancy, all he ''really'' cares about is having his beloved Lenneth. He laments it after his first boss battle and during the game's final battle.

-->'''Lezard''': My Lenneth Valkyrie, why most you torment me so? I only sought to create this new realm to escape the anguish in my heart...

* BonusBoss: Like Freya and Brahms, Lezard can be fought in the Bonus Dungeon and recruited once defeated. He tends to be much easier to beat than the other two however due to being a SquishyMage.
* BreakoutVillain: One of the most popular characters in the original ''Valkyrie Profile'', he returns in ''2'' as a party member [[spoiler:and usurps the mantle of BigBad from Odin.]]

** [[spoiler:In the first game, at least. He actually is the only living mortal left at the end of the first game's events, according to the second game. * MeteorSummoningAttack: In the original game, Meteor Swarm was simply one of the Great Magic spells Lezard could cast if he had Shadow Servant set as his attack spell. In many crossover games, it has become his finishing spell of choice.

* OptionalBoss: Like Freya and Brahms, Lezard can be fought in the Bonus Dungeon and recruited once defeated. He tends to be much easier to beat than the other two however due to being a SquishyMage.
** RouteBoss: In the original game, he can be fought at the end of his tower, which is one of requirements for achieving the best ending of the game. However, he doesn't appear in the story at all if the player picked Easy Mode.

* SuperpoweredEvilSide: An alternate version known as False-Winged Lezard appears in ''VideoGame/ValkyrieAnatomia''. His description states that he somehow gained a valkyrie's wings to amplify his already considerable magic power.

* WorthyOpponent: Lezard has this type of relationship with Mystina. In her recruitment scenes, he is more than happy to discuss his magical discoveries to her, then goes on to kill her for interfering in his plans. And later on, he tries to act friendly with Mystina [[spoiler: when she and Arngrim are trying to get Lenneth back to her body.]]

* AWolfInSheepsClothing: Masquerades as a good-natured, well-intentioned scholar when he inserts himself into Silmeria's party, and also [[IamNotLeftHanded obfuscates the extent of his power]] until the moment comes to cast off his mask. The act generally holds up in cutscenes, but some of his battle quotes are [[EvilLaugh downright maniacal]].
