* ContrastingSequelMainCharacter: To [[Series/UltramanGeed Laiha Toba]] as they were both victims of a tragic event that caused the deaths of their respective families--Laiha's parents were killed right before her very eyes during a kaiju rampage orchestrated by Kei Fukuide in an attempt to extract her Little Star but failed, Saki along with her brothers were sent to stop Reugosite and the deaths of her brothers drove her to a path of revenge. Laiha is one of the good guys through and through willing to help Riku defy his fate of becoming a second Belial, while Saki is more willing to [[WellIntentionedExtremist endanger the planet Earth so long as Reugosite is dealt with]], and in spite of all that, died as a redeemed person while entrusting her last wish to the Minato siblings to defeat Reugosite.

* SquishyWizard: Is still a novice in combat (partly because of Asahi's pacifistic nature), thus making her function more of a medic in combat.

* AdaptationalBadass: Whereas Grigio is naturally a SquishyWizard, the Ultra Heroes EXPO 2019 portrayed her differently, wherein she can fight on equal terms with ''[[Series/UltramanTiga Camila]]'' and finished the evil ultra with a FinishingMove of her own.

*** Even if he doesn't do it in Ultra form, Gai is a friendly guy who often chats with others, such as with the Alien Babalou pretending to be himself or the girl who could predict monster attacks. He also often stops to acknowledge the SSP after he defeats a monster.

** In his report cards for Katsumi and Isami in episode 8, one of those points are their respect on past Ultramen's powers. The {{Irony}} here is that Katsumi and Isami are [[TheChosenOne chosen]] by the Gyros, particularly for their attempt to save a child from Grigio Bone's attack, whereas Orb Dark is a result of Makoto/[[spoiler:Cereza]] forcing the power of Ultraman Orb onto himself. Additionally, he recruited several victims to heal the Orb Origin Crystal, which a forced version of the original Orb earning past Ultraman powers and respect for his down-to-earth attitude.

* WaxingLyrical: In episode 8, when several abducted humans had their energies transferred to repair the Orb Origin Cyrstal, Makoto quotes the first lyric of ''Series/UltramanGaia''[='=]s opening theme.

* HoistByHisOwnPetard: HistoryRepeats as Megalos was defeated by reflecting its beam back to it, much like Maga-Grand King

*** He criticizes Isami for hesitating to attack Mecha Gomora knowing that if he screwed up he'd end up killing his friend Kaoru stating "A first-rate hero does not waver!" However, Ultraman Orb wavered ''hard'' when in his fight against Maga-Zetton he thought that his friend Natasha had been killed in the crossfire, and nearly hurting Naomi when he destroyed Galactron as Thunder Breastar made him waver again.

** On top of this, one of the things he criticizes the brothers on is Isami hesitating to attack Mecha Gomora knowing that if he screwed up he'd end up killing his friend Kaoru stating "A first-rate hero does not waver!" However, his idol Ultraman Orb wavered ''hard'' when in his fight against Maga-Zetton he thought that his friend Natasha had been killed in the crossfire.

Tregear returns in the succeeding series, ''Series/UltramanTaiga'', as one of its primary antagonists, with more of his motives and backstory being revealed.

* SuspiciouslySimilarSubstitute: Argubably to Ultraman Belial, as both Ultras originates from Nebula M78 and both were estranged from Father of Ultra and Taro. The ''R/B'' movie director Masayoshi Takesue confirms this and even states that he is planning to turn Tregear into a recurring evil Ultraman, like Belial.
* WeUsedToBeFriends: In ''Ultraman Taiga'', it was revealed that he's from Nebula M78 (Land of Light) and he was close friends with Series/UltramanTaro but disinlusionment with the Land of Light's {{Fallen Hero}}es like Belial and Hikari/Hunter Knight Tsurugi caused him to view their entire worldview as meaningless and led him to a dark path of corruption and shedding his Ultraman identity.
