He spent his time charting distant star systems in his ship, until he met up with Ramjet and Landquake and discovered he had a greater destiny. An overwhelming inescapable feeling that he's linked to a mystery haunts him wherever he goes, though he quests on regardless of his unease at the things he discovers.

* BadBoss: Played with. He treats the competent and loyal Autobots relatively well, but too many failures or if you try to overthrow him, you're dead. If you're lucky.
** Or if he needs a handy shield.

* FauxAffablyEvil: Aside from his VillainousFriendship with Ironhide, almost any politeness he exhibits is undoubtedly a façade. He uses it to keep his troops on his side, when not being an outright BadBoss to them
