!!Recurring Rivals

[[folder: Lila Rossi]]
A sly and cunning Trainer from [[Anime/PokemonHeroes Alto Mare]] in the Johto region. Lila has a couple of Pokémon League Challenge experiences under her belt and intends to make a name for herself in the Kalos region. She quickly becomes a major rival for Marinette once she takes up an interest in Adrien [[spoiler: and even winds up causing a lot of emotional trouble for the both of them and gets turned into a Bond Hybrid in Chapter 48 after being humiliated by Lady Ledian]]. Lila's deceptive nature has shown to be dangerous in battle; tricking her opponents through her Pokémons' natural abilities and skills in the art of deception, leaving her foes confuse and vulnerable when she strikes.
-----
* AlphaBitch: While she didn't attend Lumiose Academy with Marinette and the others, she acts like a passive-aggressive example. She presents herself as a charming, skilled and friendly foreign Trainer from Alto Mare who's competing in the Kalos League. Behind her [[BitchInSheepsClothing façade]] is a cunning, manipulative and vindictive girl [[ConsummateLiar who'd lie]] to anyone about her social status and battle record regardless if her lies end up hurting others and will manipulate any situation to her benefit. Not to mention to makes it clear to Marinette that she intends to steal Adrien from her.
* AlwaysSomeoneBetter: When first introduced, Lila is set up to be a more formidable rival for Marinette than Chloé, being more skillful and experienced than her as she traveled around longer and competed in a couple of League Conferences up to the present day. [[spoiler: This is eventually [[SubvertedTrope subverted]] later on. In Chapter 50 it's revealed that at the Johto Silver Conference, she only made the Top 128. After that, she managed to reach the Top 64 of the Hoenn Ever Grande Conference.]]
* ArrogantKungFuGuy: At first she appears to be a subversion, being polite and friendly to new trainers she meets. Key word is appears. In truth, her humble and polite demeanor are simply false modesty that allows her to flaunt her skills and 'accomplishments' all the while she's condescending to those whom she believes are beneath her. [[spoiler: Zig-zagged with while she is indeed a skilled Pokémon trainer and has plenty of experience than the two protagonists combined, she's not as strong as she makes other believes to be]].
* AttentionWhore: Loves being in the spotlight and wants to be revered as a beloved celebrity. She lies about her social status and exaggerates her accomplishments to impress others, especially Adrien.
* BirdsOfAFeather: She shares a lot of similarities with her Mawile; both being deceptive and malicious while appearing cute and harmless to hide their true nature.
* BitchInSheepsClothing: When she first appeared before Adrien and the others, she presented herself as a kind, humble and skilled Pokémon Trainer, though Marinette later finds out the nice girl routine is all an act to get Adrien for herself. In actuality, Lila lies through her teeth, not caring who gets hurt in the process. Her Mawile perfectly mirrors that aspect; as she uses her cute appearance to hide her vicious nature and personality when she lures in her prey.
* TheBusCameBack: [[spoiler: After disappearing for fourteen chapters since becoming the latest Bond Hybrid, Lila returns at the end of Chapter 61. This time, with vengeance in mind for both Team Akuma and Lady Ledian]].
* ClingyJealousGirl: Lila is jealous in general over anyone who gets more attention than her, but her jealousy is obvious regarding Adrien, who she knows has a thing for Lady Ledian and [[DramaticIrony is close friends with Marinette]], her rival.
* CombatPragmatist: Lila uses her Pokémon's special abilities and movesets to gain an advantage over her opponents, [[spoiler: which even extends to lying which Pokémon she's actually using]]. Her Mawile and [[spoiler: Zoroark]] reflects this, as they both have Dark-Type attacks and are willing to fight dirty. The former is even known to us their cute appearance to lure in potential victims.
* ConfusionFu: Her battle style involves using tricks and deception through her Pokémon's Abilities and movesets to confuse her opponents. [[spoiler: One of her strategies is having her Zoroark use her Illusion ability to pose as her Ninetales to throw people off]].
* ConsummateLiar: The situation is ambiguous with Lila, who carefully uses vague wording in regards to her accomplishments as a Pokémon Trainer. Averted in the sense that her accomplishments and skills have been validated to an extent, but [[SmallNameBigEgo she tends to make herself sound bigger than she might be]] when it comes to [[CelebrityLie knowing reputable individuals]].
* CunningLikeAFox: She owns a Ninetales and [[spoiler: Zoroark]]. She's deceptive in both battles and outside of battles.
* DirtyCoward: [[spoiler: When beaten by Lady Ledian and Liepard Noir, Lila/Zoromba attempted to [[KickTheDog escape without her Zoroark, who was left unconscious]]]].
* DisproportionateRetribution: [[spoiler: While her wanting to get back at Team Akuma for forcibly making her into a Bond Hybrid is understandable, she also plots her revenge on Lady Ledian simply because the latter exposes her lies and humiliated her in front of Adrien. [[NeverMyFault Even when Lila was the one who was mostly at fault for it]]]].
* ExtraOreDinary: Her Mawile is part Steel-Type.
* FantasticFoxes: Lila's team, according to WordOfGod (via the author's bio), is based around this. She particularly owns a Ninetales [[spoiler: and a Zoroark]].
* FragileSpeedster: Lila's Ninetales and [[spoiler: Zoroark]] have excellent speed and the latter has excellent special attack and physical attack. However, Ninetales has less than impressive Offensive stats and average Defense and [[spoiler: Zoroark]] has low defense and special defense [[spoiler: which shown in Chapter 39 and 48]].
* GlamourFailure: [[spoiler: Lila's careful in trying to avert this. The reason why her Zoroark takes the guise of her Ninetales is because, with the exception of [[SignatureMove Night Daze]], her Zoroark shares similar movesets that her Ninetales can learn. Keyword is trying. The illusion can start to break if Zoroark gets hit, if her 'Ninetales' is mysteriously immune to Psychic-Type attacks for some reason, or if 'Ninetales' used Night Daze]].
* HateSink: Lila has already been given this treatment in the main series by the fandom due to her interference with the infamous Love Square and being a dishonest, selfish and manipulative person overall, but there's no doubt she's gone even lower in many readers' eyes due to [[spoiler: the audacity she had in throwing herself at Adrien and [[ForcefulKiss stealing]] his SacredFirstKiss while Marinette watched in her hiding place]].
* IShallTauntYou: One of her favorite tactics is to passively mock and taunt her opponents that they are infuriated enough to fall into her trap. [[spoiler: This is how she won her battle against Marinette. By claiming she won't Mega Evolve her Mawile and taking advantage that Marinette dislikes her, she ensures that Marinette won't Mega Evolve her Gardevoir, thus making her lose the advantage]].
* ItsAllAboutMe: Lila exaggerates or outright lies about her skills as a trainer just to be the center of attention, enjoying the praise and admiration that people shower her with. [[spoiler: Her vendetta against Team Akuma and Lady Ledian stems from the HumiliationConga she went through in Chapter 48 and plans to get even with the both of them-- even if it means endangering people in the crossfire]].
* {{Jerkass}}: Lila is rather downplayed as she isn't outwardly malicious, but the author confirmed that her and Marinette’s rivalry was bound to match the intensity of Ash and Paul’s rivalry. Plays it straight in later appearances, particularly in Chapter 47 and 48 where she reveals her true nature as a deceitful and spiteful girl. Some of her Pokémon share their trainer's unpleasant nature; her Mawile was described to take delight in chomping down Marinette's Gardevoir between her horn jaw and her Mismagius is said to enjoy tearing down anyone who gets in her way.
* LightIsNotGood: Ninetales is known for it's reputation as a vindictive {{Mon}} and she represents Lila's cunning nature and Fox motif.
* ManipulativeBitch: Lila's Pokémon team are associated with deception, manipulation and lies: Her Ninetales is known for her species' [[CunningLikeAFox high intelligence and vengeful nature]], [[spoiler: her Zoroark's specialty are [[MasterOfIllusion illusions]]]], her Ditto has the ablity to [[VoluntaryShapeshifter shapeshift into any Pokémon and possibly humans]], her Mismagius is known to [[MindManipulation place people under illusions and hallucinations]] and finally, her Mawile is called the ''[[ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin Deceiver Pokémon]]'', who are known to [[BitchInSheepsClothing use their cute and harmless appearance to lure their prey]].
* MasterOfIllusion: Aside from [[FantasticFoxes fox archetypes]] according to WordOfGod (via the author's bio), Lila's team also consists of Pokémon associated with illusions and deception, such as her Ditto and [[spoiler: Zoroark]]. [[spoiler: Even when transformed into a Bond Hybrid, Lila specializes in [[YourMindMakesItReal powerful illusions]] due to being bonded with her Zoroark]].
* MindManipulation: Her Ninetales and Mismagius know Confuse Ray, which fits into her deceptive play style.
* NeverMyFault: [[spoiler: Blames Lady Ledian for ruining her chances with Adrien and humiliating her, even when it wouldn't happened at all had she not lied about knowing Lady Ledian nor [[ForcefulKiss kissing Adrien without his consent]]]].
* NoNonsenseNemesis: [[spoiler: Compared to previous Bond Hybrids, who simply engaged in battle against Lady Ledian and Liepard Noir, Lila, as Zorombra, was willing to and has openly endangered innocent lives just to spite Lady Ledian by having her Zoroark's illusions terrorize civilians visiting the Poké Ball Factory and [[CombatPragmatist running away instead of staying and fighting against two heroes at once]]]].
* NoSenseOfPersonalSpace: She doesn't leave any space between her and Adrien when flirting with him.
* OurFairiesAreDifferent: Her Mawile is part Fairy-Type and leans more on [[TheFairFolk folkloric]] aspects of fairies.
* PlayingWithFire: Her Ninetales is a Fire-Type.
* PsychicPowers: Her Ninetales knows Psyshock and her [[spoiler: Zoroark]] knows the move Calm Mind.
* TheRival: She's said to serve as a more competent rival to Marinette [[spoiler: especially since she defeated Marinette in their first uninterrupted battle]].
* SmallNameBigEgo: [[spoiler: As much as she brags about her experience in competing in several past Leagues, Lila didn't make it has a top contender and is using the upcoming Kalos League to overwrite her lackluster League record]].
* SmugSmiler: One of the common expressions Lila is described to have is a sly, devious and confident smirk.
* SmugSnake: Despite being a skilled trainer said to be a greater adversary for Marinette combined with her experience, Lila arguably qualifies as this. She doesn't stop to flaunt her accomplishments, enjoys pushing Chloé or Marinette's buttons for her own amusement due to her experience as a Trainer. She even goes as far as to [[spoiler: steal Adrien's SacredFirstKiss forcibly because of her own entitlement]]. When she's put in a lower or uncomfortable position [[spoiler: such as Adrien's [[MamaBear Marowak]] [[HumiliationConga nearly hitting her in retaliation for violating Adrien's personal space, Lady Ledian exposing her lies in front of Adrien, or falling victim as Team Akuma's latest Bond Hybrid]]]], Lila loses her smug and sly demeanor. [[spoiler: Chapter 50 firmly pushes her as this when Alya reveals her discovery on Lila's past League Challenge records show that she isn't an impressive trainer as she makes herself out to be]].
* StatusBuff: Her Ninetales can jack up her normally average Sp. Attack with Nasty Plot while her [[spoiler: Zoroark]] uses Calm Mind to boost both her Sp. Attack and Sp. Defense.
* SuperMode: [[spoiler: Her Mawile is capable of Mega Evolving]].
* TookALevelInJerkass: Lila was never a nice person to begin with, but [[spoiler: near the end of Chapter 61, she is inacting her plans to get her revenge on Team Akuma and Lady Ledian, especially the latter. She even goes as far as to send her Mismagius to intercept Liepard Noir's Ghost Pokémon on its way to Snowbelle City. And her plan involves both parties exhausted and everything in disarray by the time she strikes]].
* WakeUpCallBoss: [[spoiler: She's the first of Marinette's rival to defeat her in a battle. As a Bond Hybrid, Lila/Zorombra and Zoroark proves to be more [[CombatPragmatist cunning]] and [[{{Sadist}} malicious]] than the previous Bond Hybrids that Lady Ledian and Liepard Noir faced thus far]].
* YourMindMakesItReal: [[spoiler: The new powers gained by Lila/Zorombra and Zoroark as part of their becoming the latest Bond Hybrid in Chapter 48. The illusions her Zoroark cast are so powerful that even if the victim knows they're not real, their brains are convinced they're being attacked, inflicting real pain as they perceive. Her illusions also play upon the afflicted's emotions, such as making Lady Ledian think that Liepard Noir was betraying her for Zorombra or that Adrien was about to be thrown into a dangerous machine in the Poké Ball Factory]].

[[/folder]]

[[folder: Kagami Tsurugi]]
A Trainer from a prestigious family of battlers from Sinnoh [[spoiler: with her mother, Tomoe Tsurugi, as a Sinnoh Elite Four member (Sinnoh Champion as of Chapter 59) and her grandfather a retired Champion of Kanto/Johto]]. Seeks to challenge Trainers with strong reputations and has set her sights on Adrien due to his status as Champion Agreste's son. Very straightforward but cordial, Kagami hopes to live up to her family name and defeat anyone who accepts her challenge. Swift and powerful like the art of fencing, Kagami proves to be a formidable Trainer to be reckon with.
-----
* AccidentalMisnaming: Is on the receiving end by [[TheDitz Wayhem]] in Chapter 54, having been called Kasumi, Kamui, [[Anime/AkameGaKill Kurome]], Kaname, and such. She finally puts her foot down on the issue on Chapter 58 when Wayhem gets her name wrong [[RuleOfThree a third time]] by calling her "Kame". [[note]]''Kame'' means turtle in Japanese. There is a term that uses the word, known as ''kame-atama''. This literally means "turtle head", but is Japanese slang for "penis", which is why Kagami had stopped the RunningGag before Wayhem could accidentally try to use more Japanese words that start with "k" and inadvertently say something really offensive. A notable example of this comes from ''VideoGame/XenobladeChronicles2'' regarding the well-known interactions between Nia and Zeke. [[/note]]
* TheAce: As Adrien's {{Foil}}, Kagami proves to be quite the competent Trainer upon her debut. It also helps that [[spoiler: her mother is a current Sinnoh Elite Four member and her grandfather is a former Kanto/Johto Champion]].
* ActionInitiative: Her Bisharp knows [[SneakAttack Sucker Punch]] which allows her to attack first before her opponent can. [[spoiler: This is how she and Adrien's Gallade were able to end in a draw in Chapter 58]].
* AnIcePerson: She owns a Froslass, associating with her 'Ice Queen' personality.
* BerserkButton: As someone with a strong sense of honor, she cannot tolerate deceptive and underhand tactics in battles such lying about Pokémon moveset. [[spoiler: She initially thought Marinette lied about Tikki using Supersonic when in reality Tikki learned Bug Buzz in place of Supersonic in the amidst of the battle. She does apologize for her outburst after Luka and Adrien come to Marinette's defense]].
* BladesBelowTheShoulder: Kagami and her family have Pokémon that are associated with the blade, as they pride themselves as [[MasterSwordsman sword masters]]. Kagami's Empoleon knows Steel Wing that can let her wings function like swords, her Bisharp has retractable blades on her wrists while her Kabutops wields dual scythes as her hands.
* BloodKnight: Kagami is made to be a downplayed, not-so-violent example as she seeks out Pokémon Trainers with reputations and [[ChallengeSeeker challenge them to battles]]. So far, Adrien is at the top of her list.
* BrutalHonesty: She's straight-forward and blunt, to the point that what she says may be well-intentioned, can come off as harsh to others at the same time.
* ChallengeSeeker: Makes it a point to challenge reputable Trainers to see their skills for herself and enforce her family's own powerful reputation.
* CharacterDevelopment: Since her first appearance, all that Kagami cared about was being the best by challenging Trainers with established repute and living up to her family name, though it becomes clear that [[spoiler: her steadfast beliefs were strictly instilled into her by her mother]]. Her later interactions with Adrien upon crossing paths [[spoiler: help her discover her own desire to understand and have friends, which calls back to the words her mother gives her when she left for her journey, even though she was initially considered a major rival. Kagami becomes certain that they're about the bonds of friendship formed "when one life meets another", but lacks the conviction to say it's true to her mother in Chapter 60. Her battle with Marinette in the same chapter, who she would view to have close friends, is to help her understanding of friendship]].
* CuttingThroughEnergy: Her Empoleon is capable of using Steel Wing to cut through [[SwordBeam Psycho Cut]] that Plagg summoned through [[ConfusionFu Assist]] with incredible ease.
* DishingOutDirt: Her Steelix is part Ground-type and her Kabutops is part Rock-type.
* EstablishingCharacterMoment: Kagami's official debut in Chapter 46 has her immediately taking up Luka's challenge at the end of the Laverre City Fashion Show, even leaping onto the stage to show her determination and eagerness at the challenge. After winning the battle, she asks the whereabouts of Adrien yet unlike the others, is one of the few challengers to refer Adrien by name instead of 'Champion Agreste's son'. This shows both her straight-forward and no-nonsense attitude, but also her honorable and respectful side.
* EverythingsBetterWithPenguins: Her Empoleon is a noble and prideful royal penguin who can swim as fast as a jet boat.
* ExtraOreDinary: Owns a Bisharp, an Empoleon, and a Steelix.
* FossilRevival: Owns a Kabutops.
* FriendlyRival: Though she's Adrien's main rival, [[spoiler: she softens up and is open to a friendship with Adrien in Chapter 58]].
* IJustWantToHaveFriends: [[spoiler: What she is coming to realize upon spending time with Adrien and more peers their age, even thinking that friendship is the "something is born" from her mother's words]].
* IWorkAlone: Prefers to keep to herself as she appears to not be familiar of the concept of rivals also being friends.
* MakingASplash: Her Empoleon and Kabutops are part Water-Type.
* MasterSwordsman: It's stated that she's one of the few who trains in fencing alongside her Pokémon, even engaging in combat with them. Her Bisharp and Kabutops are associated with blades.
* NotSoAboveItAll: Even with her serious personality, Kagami is still a child at heart, [[spoiler: having bantered with Wayhem in the majority of Chapter 54]].
* NotSoStoic: Kagami always maintains her composure, but she has shown to lose her cool. [[spoiler: In Chapter 54, although she remained indifferent to Wayhem's tendency to misname her, it soon became obvious that she was slowly getting annoyed by it. This culminates in her being pissed off after Wayhem failed to identify Adrien's Marowak's gender]].
* OneHitKill: [[spoiler: Her Bisharp knows Guillotine as of Chapter 60, but she used it as a finishing move against Tikki]].
* PrivilegedRival: She's the daughter of Tomoe Tsurugi, one of Sinnoh's Elite Four [[spoiler: turned Champion come Chapter 59]] and she comes from a prestigious family well-known for their blade-style battling.
* TheRival: Her initial role to be one for Adrien. [[spoiler: Becomes his and Wayhem's rival in Chapter 54]].
* StarterMon: Kagami owns an Empoleon, the fully evolved form of Piplup, the Water-Type Sinnoh StarterMon.
* SugarAndIcePersonality: Kagami's aloof and stoic attitude makes her appear as a serious trainer and with her straightforward nature, can come off as hostile. She admits to herself she isn't a people-person, yet she is shown to be friendly and polite beneath her icy and aloof exterior. [[spoiler: Notably that she compliments Wayhem for his ability as a trainer from how well he raised his Pokémon despite their initially rough start in the Chapter 54]]. Her Froslass represents her aloof personality.
* TheStoic: Compared to the colorful cast of lively characters in the story, Kagami is pretty quiet and reserved.
* TransformationTrinket: [[spoiler: In Chapter 58, Adrien was the only one able to identify a Key Stone's sparkle from behind Kagami's tie and blouse collar. Kagami briefly shows it to be a black choker necklace, meant to be modeled after the Dragon Miraculous, but doesn't use it yet and hides it in her collar]].
* TsurimeEyes: Her defining characteristic, aside from her dark hair, is her sharp brown eyes.
* UnknownRival: Since her debut in the story, Adrien isn't aware of her existence at this point. [[spoiler: She finally crosses paths with Adrien in Chapter 54]].
* UseYourHead: Her Bisharp knows Iron Head, which can cause the target to flinch when hit.
* WeaponOfChoice: Seems to frequently call upon her Bisharp than her other Pokémon.
* WhatIsThisFeeling: Since meeting Adrien in Chapter 54, [[spoiler: Kagami begins to experience new feelings outside of her usual stoicism and desire to be the best. She had a few bouts of such during her battle in Chapter 56. And at the end of the battle, she starts to believe that friendship is the thing that is born "when one life meets another"]].
* WhenSheSmiles: [[spoiler: Adrien thinks to himself when Kagami smiles a real smile near the end of Chapter 54 that she looks cute with it and hopes she would smile more often]].
* WorthyOpponent: She challenges [[spoiler: Marinette]] despite her lack of a strong reputation, [[spoiler: only going on Adrien's word that she's an amazing Trainer]]. Though Kagami does say that she had more intense battles [[spoiler: after defeating Marinette]], she is still gracious to acknowledge her skills and bond with her Pokémon.
* YukiOnna: Owns a Froslass.

[[/folder]]

[[folder: Mireille Caquet]]
A former graduate from Lumiose Trainer Academy, being a few years older than Marinette and her class. Mireille is the current Kalos Queen, and thus, the ultimate obstacle for any Pokémon Performer aiming for the title.
-----

* TheAce: From the story beginning, she is the best Pokémon Performer in the Kalos region.
* ClarkKenting: [[spoiler: In Chapters 59 and 60, she disguises herself with a beret and glasses, similar to what Aria did in the anime, as to avoid public attention. She also calls herself "Mirabel"]].
* FamedInStory: She's the current Kalos Queen, a title any aspiring Pokémon Performer strives to achieve.
* TheFashionista: Knows her fashion styles pretty well [[spoiler: as demonstrated while window shopping with Juleka in Chapter 60]]. It is a given as she is Kalos Queen.
* SignatureMove: [[RandomEffectSpell Weather Ball]].
* StealthMentor: Downplayed. She is not outright antagonistic, but she is still the top rival in the world of Pokémon Showcases. [[spoiler: In Chapter 59, she approaches Juleka as a mysterious fan named Mirabel after Juleka loses the Couriway Showcase and in the next chapter, she helps her out by asking her what it means to be Kalos Queen and [[ArmorPiercingQuestion why she persists on the path of a Pokémon Performer]] as to renew her resolve]].
* WeUsedToBeFriends: [[spoiler: In Chapter 60 as Mirabel, she shares a vague story with Juleka as to open up a bit about her, which was about how she had a best friend growing up, hinted to be Aurore, and they competed in many competitions together until their last competition suddenly resulted in their break up, with Mireille winning and her best friend losing]].
* WeaponOfChoice: [[TeruTeruBozu Castform]].

[[/folder]]

[[folder: Wayhem]]
A Trainer who claims to be Adrien's biggest fan, to the point that he dresses like him. His obsession towards Champion Agreste's son is near-Marinette levels. He hopes to become a strong and cool Trainer like Adrien and wants to become his apprentice. [[spoiler: He was also part of the audience that watched Adrien's exhibition match against Gabriel, spurring him to seek out Adrien, eventually fiding him at the end of Chapter 53]].
-----

* AccidentalMisnaming: Subjected Kagami to this, likely because he doesn't care about anyone who isn't Adrien Agreste. Kagami finally puts her foot down and even threatens him to stop getting her name wrong in Chapter 58 when he mistakenly calls her "Kame". [[note]]''Kame'' means turtle in Japanese. There is a term that uses the word, known as ''kame-atama''. This literally means "turtle head", but in Japanese slang, it represents penis, which is why Kagami had stopped the RunningGag before Wayhem could accidentally try to use more Japanese words that start with "k". [[/note]]
* AfroAsskicker: Revealed on the author's profile to own a Bouffalant as a reference to Party Crasher. He even knows Head Charge, which is called Afro Break in Japanese.
* CharacterTics: Frequently pumps his arms to show excitement.
* CurbstompBattle: [[spoiler: As valiantly as he fought against [[TheAce Adrien]] during their double battle, he was unable to knock out any of Adrien's Pokémon despite tiring them out before losing the match]].
* TheDitz: Enthusiastic and impatient, but not too bright as he keeps getting Kagami's name wrong.
* EstablishingCharacterMoment: [[spoiler: His first official line at the end of Chapter 53, continuing off into Chapter 54 where his identity is revealed, is to loudly declare he found Adrien. Then from Adrien's perspective, Adrien was unnerved by the boisterous voice and the fact that his biggest fan was wearing the same clothes he was wearing]].
%% * {{Expy}}: Of [[AttentionDeficitOohShiny Barry]], being a hyperactive trainer who is a [[FanBoy huge fan]] towards [[TheAce Adrien]], just like how Barry admires Paul in the anime.
* FailedASpotCheck: During his double battle against Adrien, he was hoping that his Delcatty's Cute Charm Ability would affect Adrien's Marowak. Cute Charm only affects those Pokémon who are the opposite gender of the user, while Pokémon of the same gender are unaffected. It doesn't take a genius to figure out why Delcatty's Cute Charm didn't work on Marowak, something that [[spoiler: Kagami]] points out.
* FunnyAfro: Owns a Bouffalant, meant to reference his akumatized form, Party Crasher.
* GagNose: Owns a Nosepass, which can evolve into [[BadassMustache Probopass]], another reference to Party Crasher.
* GeniusDitz: Despite his goofiness, Wayhem is a capable Trainer [[spoiler: as he managed to corner Adrien's Pokémon a few times before realizing they were too tough for him to contend with]].
* GracefulLoser: Even though he lost to Adrien in his first battle, he still considers it the best thing that has happened to him.
* GreenThumb: His Chesnaught is part Grass-type.
* HeroWorshipper: To Adrien.
* LargeHam: Combined with NoIndoorVoice, Wayhem is one of the most expressive characters among the cast. He even has his own self-given title: Bringer of Mayhem.
* LargeHamTitle: [[RhymesOnADime Wayhem, Bringer of Mayhem]]!
* LoonyFan: His admiration for Adrien puts Marinette's to shame, to the point that even Adrien was initially unnerved by him.
* {{Keet}}: He is very excitable, especially when it comes to Adrien.
* NoIndoorVoice: Most of his sentences end in exclamations to signify his passionate personality.
* NoSenseOfPersonalSpace: When he finally got to meet his idol in person, he wasted no time getting close with Adrien literally.
* NonElemental: Owns a Delcatty, likely to match Adrien's cat motif.
* OnlyKnownByTheirNickname: Probably. Even Adrien wonders if that's his real name.
* TheRival: He is another personal rival for Adrien outside of Kagami and his friends and classmates.
* SmellySkunk: Owns a Skuntank, which weaponizes smells. According to the author's page, this is meant to reference how Wayhem fended off Gorizilla in the main show.
* StarterMon: He owns a Chesnaught, the final evolution of Chespin.
* ThirdPersonPerson: Would occasionally say his full name and title for the theatrics.
