No-one in-series ever regards him as a \'freak\' (and he doesn\'t really do anything psychotic like mass-murder, does he?) so regardless of viewer perception, I don\'t think this trope belongs here.

He\'s definitely prettier than Rock Bison and Fire Emblem, and the rest is heavily subjective. He\'s also definitely prettier than all other non-hero characters with the possible/subjective exception of Yuri.

* InformedAttractiveness: Much is made of Barnaby's good looks in-universe, to the point that Fire Emblem nicknames him "Handsome," but his character design doesn't necessarily stand out as that much more attractive than those of the other heroes.
Is there an issue? Send a MessageReason:
This one is actually valid; the trope doesn\'t mean that the character isn\'t attractive, just that they\'re the one character in an ensemble of attractive characters whose attractiveness is played up in-universe.

* InformedAbility: He's supposed to be very skilled academically and quite smart as well. However, while he definitely isn't 'stupid', there's never any indication in-series that he's markedly more intelligent than, say, Kotetsu.

Huh, why was this deleted? I was thinking of adding it myself but Blac Kat beat me to it. Unless you count the whole disarming the bomb deal (and he didn\'t even do that properly) we\'ve only got a couple of people\'s word for it that he\'s supposed to be smart. But if you consider what they actually did in the story, Kotetsu\'s smarter than him. Even though everyone calls him and idiot.

He\'s not a nerd — at least not if you go by the definition on that trope\'s main page. He\'s entirely too good-looking, too charming and not book-smart enough to be called that (and the ladies don\'t care about his intelligence, they only wany him for his looks). I\'d say he\'s more of a type-2 Hollywood Nerd

Not really \'ambiguous\' — it\'s obviously PTSD + OCPD with a slight case of pyrophobia on the side. He\'s not suffering from anything as extreme as what the main page for the trope suggests. The \"There are no therapists\" tag is sufficient, I think.

* AmbiguousDisorder: He has frequent nightmares and flashbacks, several tendencies that suggest a mild case of OCPD, a grand total of ''one'' hobby (listening to opera - ''alone''), has been wearing the same jacket nearly every day for ''five straight years'', is obsessive and emotionally volatile when it comes to his quest for revenge, hates waste and anything he deems 'unnecessary' (therefore limiting the number of furniture in his apartment to three), has a very absolutist perception of trust and is socially withdrawn to the point that Kotetsu is literally the only friend he's ever had. [[spoiler:Not to mention having a bunch of FakeMemories - which means that most of his childhood after the age of four is a mystery even to him.]] A psychiatrist would have a field day assessing this guy.
