* HundredPercentAdorationRating: Katerina is noted as being beloved by the entire country.

* TheCasanova: He is a ''big'' womanizer. [[DeconstructedTrope Deconstructed]], in that his lust for women has lead to a DeadlyDecadentCourt where those same women try to murder each other for his favor, to the extent he no longer takes joy in womanizing anymore. And he hasn't even gotten Elise's mom yet.

* TheScrappy: In-universe example. Compared to Katerina, who was loved by ([[DeadlyDecadentCourt most of]]) the people of Nohr, Arete was widely despised. Garon's consorts were especially cruel to her.

All the women interested in Garon don't really care about him and are only in it for personal/political gain, and they try to weed out the competition through whatever means necessary. For political reasons, he's unable to eject them from his court even though he himself dislikes most of them, and is as such stuck with fierce competition raging around him.

* AntiVillain: And quite a sympathetic one at that. He tries to be a good parent to his bastard kids (something his wives—sans Katerina and Arete, of course—could care less about); and he only orders the raids on Hoshino because King Sumeragi will not budge on the new taxes.

* SlaveToPR: The reason he keeps the concubines around despite all of the trouble they cause is because he doesn't want to make any enemies. Some of them hail from nobility and ejecting them will cause their families to get mad at him. The ones who aren't from nobility are self-made women with powerful abilities or other useful assets, and ejecting them will make ''them'' get mad at him. Ether way, kicking them out would not end well.

* TheHeroDies: [[spoiler:It's a prequel and he is canonically a possessed monster in ''VideoGame/FireEmblemFates'', so he naturally perishes in the final chapter.]]
