* BossArenaIdiocy: Zig-zagged. After Link uses the torches in the room to defeat its first two forms fairly easily, Fraaz destroys said torches so he can no longer use them. ... And then continues alternating between attacks, allowing Link to use the remnants of said attacks to do what the torches did.

** It also appears that the snow temple's force gem was inside of Fraaz's stomach, based on the cutscene during its defeat.

* EarlyBirdBoss: Fraaz is pretty difficult compared to the rest of the bosses, having a 4/5 on the threat meter when the boss that follows it, Phytops, only has a 3/5. Its projectiles are much faster and it can track the player better than Phytops, its arena can feel claustrophobic when Fraaz [[BalloonBelly gets bigger]], [[SequentialBoss and it has five forms]].

* HandicappedBadass: He's crippled by Link's sword strikes and a powerful blow from Malladus, but he still keeps his composure and manages to hold off Malladus long enough at the end for Zelda to get her body back.
* HardWorkHardlyWorks: Even with all his training, he still loses to Link and a Phantom-equipped Zelda.

to:

* SamuraiPonytail: A long topknot protrudes from his otherwise short hair.
* WolverineClaws: His mechanical hand has several sharp claws.

* DangerouslyGenreSavvy: At the beginning of the third phase it destroys the two torches in the room, which have been helping the player up to that point. Fraaz can also [[AIRoulette occasionally]] fire multiple attacks of the same element in a row.

* TooDumbToLive: It tends to flip between this and DangerouslyGenreSavvy. While it destroys the torches in its room, [[TacticalSuicideBoss it also regularly alternates between elemental attacks.]]

* AIRoulette: How Fraaz selects what attacks to use. Fraaz only has two choices when it comes to attacks, though, so it isn't as bad as other examples.

* CartoonCreature: Most fans assume it's meant to be a Keese, but nobody's really sure what it is.

* PuzzleBoss: A downplayed example initially, the player must use either fire or icy fire on Fraaz while it's charging up an attack. Gets played straight when Fraaz destroys the torches in its boss room.

* TooDumbToLive: It tends to flip between this and DangerouslyGenreSavvy. While it destroys the torches in its room, [[TacticalSuicideBoss it also regularly alternates between elemental attacks.]]

* WakeUpCallBoss: Stagnox is very easy compared to Fraaz, in part because of what the player has to do to even make the boss vulnerable.
