-> Duo Lon is also a member of the Hizoku clan, and one of Ron's sons. He is also searching for his father for his betrayal of the clan. He teams up with Ash Crimson for a time, but later joins Elisabeth Blanctorche's team, along with Benimaru Nikaido, after noticing that Ash was manipulating his teammates. Later he and Elisabeth team up with his and Ash's ex teammate Shen Woo, and they get ready to confront Ash again.

* MightyGlacier: Along with Clone Zero from 2000, Mukai is one of the few KOF bosses that are slower than the average character (though his LDM is the fastest super in the series). He makes up for this by having a huge amount of invincibility frames and autoguard for defense and for offence he has some of the highest damage output in the whole series between his projectiles and supers.

Rewrote Tizoc's bio as per thread due to Handling Spoilers policy. I kept the information about Tizoc being the King of Dinosaurs, but I've left out the details about WHY he's under the new persona because that's a less obvious spoiler revealed in XIV.

2003, XI

->In XIV, somehow [[spoiler:he got defeated by a boxer named Nelson. Personally humiliated by this defeat and realizing that his Face status will limit him from what he can use in a possible grudge match for his honor, he turned Heel, becoming the King of Dinosaurs. See the XIV page for more details about him in the Dinosaur persona.]]

Names The Same is no longer a trope

* NamesTheSame: An ambiguous, in-universe example. The name Malin was previously used in the series, belonging to a female member of Athena's fan club who was on good terms with the White Tiger (aka Jhun Hoon). It's unknown if these two women are one in the same, but it does possibly explain why Malin teamed up with Athena in 2003.

Adelheid's not gimmicky. Changing the inputs won't change how it functions, anyway.

* AlbinosAreFreaks: Nope. At worst, he was only presented as a villain in 2003, but he's actually a fairly good lad. Rose, on the other hand...
* AloofOlderBrother: Subverted, as the console version of XIII proves this is an act. When Adelheid discovers his sister Rose acting out of character and fails to confront her, he becomes emotionally distraught over not understanding the cause. See BigBrotherInstinct for his reaction .

* ChuckCunninghamSyndrome: Subverted. After being touted as the other protagonist of the saga, Adelheid is inexplicably absent from the arcade version of XIII. However, depending on how you play the console version's Story mode (which fills in gaps left in the core story), it is eventually revealed that he plays a key part behind the scenes. He's still not playable, though.

* MechanicallyUnusualFighter: Only in 2003, where his Super Special Moves are performed with regular Special inputs (e.g., dragon punch plus kick for Gross Kreis, his Genocide Cutter equivalent, as opposed to a double quarter-circle motion) instead of, y'know, more difficult inputs. His AttackReflector (which he inherited from his father) was also a simple df+LP instead of qcf+P (as would be the case in XI) in the same game, too. And finally, Grosse Drucken (aka, God Press) was just a quarter-circle input as opposed to a half-circle input.

* RedeemingReplacement: Rugal is one of the evilest characters in KOF canon, responsible for several atrocities before the events of [='=]94 (the likes of which include murdering Heidern's entire battalion, his family, and taking his eye - all for a very petty reason). Adel, by contrast, is far nicer and more sociable, even taking his loss in [='=]03 stride, unlike Rose. On top of that, he's also working directly with his father's ArchEnemy if XIII is anything to go by.
