Normally, a boss would only take a bit of damage from poison poison, as their health bars reach in the hundreds hundreds, but if Blastocyst is poisoned when it divides divides, it's instantly killed, ending a long boss fight within a few minutes. They got a BalanceBuff in Afterbirth† ''Afterbirth†'' that removed the insta-kill, but they still pass debuffs onto their smaller forms when splitting.
