For its first season in its new permanent spot, the Race submitted an underwhelming effort. While Seasons 10 and 12 showed the benefits of a prolific {{Metagame}}, Season 13 showed the negatives. Most of the teams seemed ill versed in the {{Metagame}}, allowing Nick & Starr to dominate most of the season, and, for the first time, a dominant team won, backing the editors into a corner as to how to present a storyline for the season. With a predictable, boring end result, and a cast that was not't as charismatic as hoped, they decided instead to focus on the bumbling team that shocked everyone by making it to the Final 3. Though an overall weak season (being the only one of Seasons 12-17 to not have a representative for Unfinished Business), it does have some positives, and episode 9, the leg where Dan tried his hand at marching, is one of the best individual episodes in the series.

* SpolightStealingSquad: From the very beginning they editing focused more on them then any other team, though it enraged the fans at first that such a horrible team was getting the bulk of the airtime, eventually they realized that Dan & Andrew were they most entertaining part of an otherwise mediocre season.

Frat boys, and ''the'' most unexpected team to ever make the Final 3. There have been bad teams before, and there have been bad teams since, but Dan & Andrew have legendary badness. They were so bad that they circled around from being a blight on the Race, to being the most entertaining part of Season 13. They were so bad the screwed up ''walking'', yet somehow made it all the way to the end of the Race before their cab driver got lost in the finale, where they ended up 3rd, yet got the loudest cheers from the other teams as the cruised into the Finish Line.

* PunnyName: She goes by ''Starr Spangler''. Which, besides the obvious, she's also a Dallas Cowboys cheerleader (their logo is a star), and she flirted with a guy named Dallas throughout the Race.

* BornLucky: It's unbelievable how often they survived because someone screwed up worse than they did. They got lucky with Aja & Ty missing the first flight on leg 5, Ken & Tina helping them beat Kelly & Christie, Terence & Sarah going after the Fast Forward and missing it, and Toni 7 Dallas losing their fanny pack.

* Hypocrite: In the first episode their choice of nickname was "Team ''{{Superbad}}''," due to their self-perceived resemblance to the characters in that movie. However, they got mad later in the season when Kelly & Christie called them ''Superbad''.

Dating team. Sarah works on Wall Street, while Terence is a running coach. They started out strong, finishing in the top 3 in 6 of the first 7 legs, but on leg 8 they decided to race Nick & Starr for the Fast Forward. Vegetarian Terence quickly realized he was in over his head when he realized the fast forward involved eating meat, but by the time they gave up and returned to the course it was too late, they were too far behind to catch Andrew & Dan, even with a 30 minute penalty, and they were eliminated in 5th.

!!Andrew Lappitt & Daniel "Dan" Honig

Best friends and geeks, became fan favorites before the season even started. They showed a positive attitude and a good sense of humor which only increased their popularity, but then on the third leg Mark struggled with the wrestling Roadblock, finding it hard to breathe in the high altitude, dropping from first to second-to-last, and then received a penalty for taking illegal transportation, knocking them out in 8th.
