* CelibateHero: {{Downplayed}}. Though he indeed [[NoBiologicalSex doesn't have biological sex]] in his current form, he can [[{{Shapeshifting}} easily modify himself]] to get the attributes back, but in the end ([[ForgotAboutHisPowers when he finally remembers that]]) admits that it'd be more hassle than it's worth. However, absolutely none of that stops him from ogling sexy women in sexy outfits and getting excited over it.

* WholesomeCrossdresser: Despite his insistence on seeing himself as male, Rimuru usually has little to no problem wearing kimonos or other feminine clothing with a bit of arm twisting from Shuna, much to the delight of pretty much everyone in Tempest. It's up to the point in "The Slime Diaries" they made a skimpy two-piece swimsuit for him to wear for the BeachEpisode. He turned it down in the episode proper for a limb-covering one-piece due to considering such an exposing girly outfit to be going a bit too far, [[BrickJoke though we do end up seeing him in it for the next episode preview]]. However, he has his limits. Risque stuff like a PlayboyBunny outfit is definitely crossing the line and he will run away.

* SoLastSeason: Played with. Rimuru is by no means weak even at the story's start thanks to winning the SuperpowerLottery, capable of flattening most of the human kingdoms with ease. But this power trip ceases when he gains the attention of the Demon Lords, many of whom are vastly stronger than Rimuru is; his first encounter with Milim was a wake-up call that could've ended far worse, and was the tipping point that made him realize he'd need to put effort into getting stronger.

* RedBaron: Ruler of Monsters. Spoofed when he first became a Demon Lord, as when Rain introduces all of the current members of the newly-named Octogram by some awe-inspiring title, he gets saddled with the lame title of "Newbie".

* NewLifeInAnotherWorldBonus: Rimuru Tempest has Predator, allowing him to [[CannibalismSuperpower copy the abilities and transform into any creature he eats]], Great Sage, a nigh-omniscient guide that can tell him almost anything about the world, Pain Nullification, which allows him to FeelNoPain, and the ability to NoSell most types of attacks (including ice, fire, and piercing attacks). And he is a Slime, so he can regenerate his body. All were acquired when the world interpreted his dying thoughts as him desiring these abilities, [[AchievementsInIgnorance completely without his realization until after the fact]]. On top of this, he first appears in a cave filled with magical plants: by eating all of them, he absorbs a tremendous amount of Magicules, granting him a nearly-bottomless supply of magical energy as well as the ability to craft large amounts of extremely powerful healing potions. [[spoiler:Towards the end of the series, he gains the ability to access any point in Space-Time without causing a paradox threatening his own existence. He gets so many cheats later that his cheat skills begin to develop cheat skills.]]

* MakingASplash: He gained water manipulation skills after absorbing the water of a lake and infusing it with mana to use it as a projectile.

* ShapeShifterBaggage: Has no problems taking forms that use less of his body mass but need to substitute parts with mana when taking forms with more biomass than he originally has, usually slowing his reaction speed with it.

** Giving monsters names causes them to gain new powers and to evolve into a new form, e.g. the goblins that Rimuru meets evolve into Hobgoblins (a much stronger and more human-like race) when Rimuru gives them names. The act of naming monsters consumes mana and causes Rimuru to eventually pass out. That doesn't stop him from giving names to over 150,000 orcs in one marathon session (although the quality of names starts to dip fairly quickly).

* HealingFactor: He starts out with Self-Regeneration, allowing him to repair most physical injuries as long as he gets time to let it work its magic. He later upgrades to Ultraspeed Regeneration, which turns the speed and potency of healing up to the point that unless it's an attack aimed directly at his soul, he can constantly and nigh-instantly heal from anything short of atomic destruction. And then he reaches [[UpToEleven Endless Regeneration]], which removes the weakness to spiritual attacks and basically means an attack needs to utterly destroy him on the physical ''and'' spiritual level to guarantee death.

** When Hakurou tells Razen his country pissed off the wrong person, he wasn't kidding ''at all''. Rimuru completely and utterly kills '''20,000''' Falmuth soldiers with Megiddo, a KillEmAll skill that utterly decimated the opposing army without resistence, all without any aggressively rage, and in fact his attack motion was very calm and precise. Then when he holds the king and his bishop dead-to-rights, the king foolishly strokes his ego in front of him, thinking Rimuru would bow to him. He was proven dead wrong when Rimuru's next attack cuts off his left arm, this time done with a calm voice and while not moving a muscle for the slash.

** His biology allows him to ignore attacks that need to hit vital organs, as he has no vital organs. All of his cells can be used for every fuction, meanin he has no need for a heart, lung, a brain or any other organ that most creatures need to live.

* AchievementsInIgnorance: So much so that Storm Dragon Veldora, in his side stories, can't tell if Rimuru is an unparalleled strategic genius, or a total moron. The acquisition of some of his abilities during his reincarnation also counts, as the "Voice of the World" interpreted his dying ramblings as wishes for certain abilities.

* GenreSavvy: Rimuru was a gamer in his human life and often calls out tropes when he notices them, recognizing LethalChef based on Benimaru and Hakurou's reactions to learning that Shion was going to cook for Rimuru.

* YouGottaHaveBlueHair: Rimuru has pale blue hair in the light novel, manga, and anime, which matches with the color of his slime form.

* NoBiologicalSex: Being a slime makes him genderless since slimes don't reproduce sexually and even in human form he has no sex characteristics. He notes that he could develop such organs if he truly desired it [[CelibateHero but thinks it would be a waste of time]]. [[spoiler: He briefly makes a feminine body to see if he can, but almost immediately dismisses it as being immoral, bearing too close a resemblance to Shizue.]] He still has a ''very'' obvious predilection for women, however, as shown by his excitement at meeting and being pampered by a bunch of buxom elves.

** He has a terrible time guaging the power of his own people. He felt that Yomigari would be ineffective against the paladins that were sent by the luminaries, but since none of them had any soul damaging attacks, Yomigari was practically invincible and disabled them all with ease. He also underestimated just how powerful Veldora really is, as when he finally released the magicules that he had been storing in the labyrinth, the came out with the force of a bomb, warping the walls with their sheer pressure alone.

* UnderestimatingBadassery: He doesn't look particularly imposing, especially in his tiny true form. Combine this with the fact that slimes are not exactly known for being particularly powerful or cunning, and you can understand why Rimuru is on the receiving end of this trope a lot. Nevertheless, underestimating him tends to go poorly for the unfortunate opponent.

* TheSleepless: A slime's cells can have any function. Different cells are continually rotated as brain cells meaning that slimes don't have to sleep.

* {{Workaholic}}: While he dislikes overexerting himself with constant work, like how Geld pushes himself out of his desire to aid his lord, Rimuru ended up getting so involved with managing the various aspects of the Tempest country, and doing it for so long, that when he gets his first day off in ''The Slime Diaries'' Episode 2, he gets extremely antsy at having nothing to do, and ends up outright looking for any kind of work that can keep him occupied. He even apologizes to Geld about trying to get the guy to lighten up his workload when he himself is just of work-obsessed, though as Geld notes, Rimuru does it because he enjoys a moderate amount of physical and mental exertion, unlike Geld who works to ignore his troubles.

** Downplayed slightly, in that he is at lease ''capable'' of giving good names when he isn't naming hundreds, thousands or '''''tens of thousands''''' of individuals. His practice allowed him to do in three minutes what the other demon lords couldn't do in three months, come up with a good name for the group.
