* DisapprovingLook Not really a surprise since he often has to deal with Marius. Out of the male lead cast, Vyn has the most expressive eyes, the [[EmptyEyes light fading from his eyes]] in a [[DeathGlare Death Glare]], but he is well and truly pissed off when he exhibits a [[KubrickStare Kubrick Stare]]. His sprite exhibits a [[DullEyesOfUnhappiness particular]] [[BrokenSmile smiling]] [[PsychoSmile expression]] in Medieval Suspense at one point, truly scaring the other actor.

* TheMedic: Is also this in the field, and considers Artem his patient after the events in Chapter 6 main story. Unsurprisingly, Vyn is a bit of a DrJerk to Artem, given Artem's high-handed arrogance to the rest of the team early in the chapter; using his position as MC's boss in Themis to command her time during a NXX investigation; claiming his family name would protect him and MC from harm [[spoiler: a concept that Vyn, having survived at least one assassination attempt as a young nobleman himself, knows is asinine;]] his recklessness and careless actions that lead to endangering the MC's life; and [[ArsonMurderAndJaywalking persistent stubborness about working despite being ordered to rest]].

* FriendOnTheForce: He's usually the main characters' ally from the police whenever there's a case involved. However, it's unclear if he's aware of the NXX.

to:

* TheCommissionerGordon: He's a police captain, not the police commissioner, but he pretty much plays this role in story. He's also the one to scold the MC, Artem or Vyn when they start getting out of hand or overconfident.
* FairCop He's pretty attractive, especially when he smiles.
* FriendOnTheForce: He's usually the main characters' ally from the police whenever there's a case involved. However, it's unclear if he's aware of the NXX. [[spoiler: As of Chapter 7, he seems to be definitely aware of it, and was very much aware of it in the Secrets of the Tomb storyline, directly requesting their help to liase and investigate in another country in connection with the SCPD.]]
* GoodCopBadCop: Interestingly, he plays both roles sometimes.
* ReasonableAuthorityFigure: He's the one to scold the MC, Vyn and Artem whenever they get overconfident or are caught breaking the rules. He also cautions Vyn when he feels Vyn is being too overconfident about exposing the MC to bad people to help her grow as an attorney and investigator, and tells Vyn he can't always be in control of everything. Notably he doesn't actually disagree with Vyn's methods, and seems to worry about how Vyn [[spoiler: uses himself and his reputation as bait to drag out the real PUA mastermind via rumours and badmouthing online claiming Vyn is the real PUA mastermind]] and how these actions will negatively affect Vyn and the MC's growing relationship. If the player chooses the option that 'you' believed the rumours, [[spoiler: Vyn looks shocked and hurt, proving Darius right, even for a moment.]]

Added more information to Vyn's entry

* [[spoiler: BadassBookworm:]] See his Crazy Prepared and Genius Bruiser entry.

* [[spoiler: BlueBlood]] Vyn is [[spoiler: an aristocrat born from one of the most noble and powerful Houses in the story.]]

* {{Irony}}: He's by far the best in-story at card (and mind) games, but in the in-game Old Maid, he is the only one with a tell. Certain moments, before he chooses a card, he moves his hand across the cards and then clenches it upward. Sometimes, he will look in the direction of the card a milisecond before choosing it. Granted, you're rendered immobile during these periods, but while the other three also do something similar, they lack this certain tell.

His sprite exhibits a [[DullEyesOfUnhappiness unique]] [[BrokenSmile smiling]] expression in Medieval Suspense at one point, truly scaring the other actor.
* GeniusBruiser: Despite his gentlemanly behavior, ethereal, almost elfin appearance and refined hobbies, you discover in his card story Gentleman's Game that [[spoiler: he is a skilled fencer and duelist and implied to have never lost a duel.]] In Vyn's Lost Gold route, you discover that despite Marius' mocking him as frail, [[spoiler: Vyn is a very skilled archer, outdoorsman and survivalist, and used to spend his autumns hunting in the forested mountains of his homeland. He mentions being very good at horseback archery.]] Later he brings out a [[spoiler: bow and uses it to create a zipline... and then carries the MC and their packs as he ziplines across a ravine to the opposite cliff. And shrugs off hitting the mountain with his back.]]
* HiddenDepths: There is a very good reason why he has the pastimes, mannerisms, bearing, and speech of a displaced [[spoiler: European aristocrat, specifically from the Kingdom of Svart.]] First hinted at in Gentleman's Game, and heavily implied to be a fact in the end of the Lost Gold story.

And shrugs off hitting the mountain with his back.]] Slightly subverted in that it's implied that by [[spoiler: BattleButler Ogier's]] standards, Vyn has gotten rusty in his time away from Svart and [[spoiler: needs to be taught to fight again.]] While we do not see this, Vyn does demonstrate what he has learned later on to great effect, shocking even Darius [[spoiler: and the gangsters Vyn takes down by the batch lot in two blows.]]
*GuileHero Shares this trait with Marius.
* [[spoiler: HeroicBastard]] Due to political scheming, [[spoiler: Vyn's parents were forbidden from marrying, and his mother, a woman from an old scholarly but commoner family from Stellis 'abandoned their love' - and little Vilhelm.
]]
[[spoiler: He admits to the MC in the card, Food For Thought, that he is an aristocrat by birth, with a severely bare-bones rendition of his past. In his second birthday card, Fetters of the Past, you meet his father, AnOfficerAndAGentleman Eirik Haspran, the Duke of Haspran and a formidable military commander, who may possibly command the entire Svart military.]]
* HotTeacher: He is called one of the four hottest teachers in Stellis University and even has a fanclub.
* IHaveNoSon: Vyn's [[spoiler: mother doesn't want anyone 'unrelated to know about their real relationship' and seems to treat him coldly, demanding this when he requests her permission to take her surname. Per the artbook, almost as a recompensation for the denial of ties, Vyn's mother gives him a mansion in the Victorian district.]] However, he does not live in it and instead buys a house with his own earnings and savings, and later [[spoiler: turns the mansion and its surrounding gardens into the NXX's base.]] It is shown in some small way that [[spoiler: she does care for Vyn, by granting him all his requests, even though she jabs at him for calling her only when he needs something, as well as expressing worry about the wounds he sustained in the latter parts of his fourth personal story chapter.]] Vyn's response to this is to poke at [[spoiler: his mother for this show of motherly concern. They have a bit of a tsundere relationship.]]
It also hints at [[spoiler: Vyn's tendency to sacrifice himself/his own winning to help MC win in-story.]]

* ManipulativeBastard: Mostly to criminals, but also, to some lesser extent, the MC early on. He gets much better about it, and he even admits to himself that it was wrong of him to do so. He still sort of does it in the form of impromptu tests to see how the MC will deal with certain personality types/exposing her to certain types of people, but the MC seems aware of (and understands the purpose behind) these tests and is more concerned with what he thinks of her performance. Vyn also manipulates his cousin Ragnar's dislike of him on the polo field, goading him in such a way that Ragnar lost his head and attacked Vyn, costing the Svart team the game.

* PhotographicMemory: Strongly implied. Luke teases Vyn in Lost Gold about having a very good memory, and Vyn is a walking encyclopedia of a truly stunning range of topics, despite his saying he 'does not know everything there is to know.' At the end of 'Mercury in Retrograde', Vyn memorizes a whole book on household maintenance in a few days. This may actually be the reason for Vyn having earned his double doctorates at a young age.

to:

* OverlyLongName: [[spoiler: Vilhelm Richard Albert de Haspran, heir to the House of Haspran, son of the Duke of Haspran, Eirik Thurmond Alger de Haspran.]] Vyn is his legal pseudonym and Richter is his [[spoiler: mother's maiden name and implied to be the name of her clan.]] Vyn's father worries that Vyn is [[spoiler: ShedTheFamilyName discarded the Haspran name for his mother's]] but Vyn denies this, and he is still apparently primarily known as Vilhelm outside of Stellis.
* TheOwlKnowingOne: He is represented frequently by a snowy owl, especially in the official card suite, as well as the suite of hearts, as well as resembling one. There are many memes putting his expressions next to those of a snowy owl's, both his happy and grumpy ones. Doubles as his [[NobleBirdOfPrey Noble Bird of Prey symbol]].
* PhotographicMemory: Strongly implied. Luke teases Vyn in Lost Gold about having a very good memory, and Vyn is a [[EncyclopaedicKnowledge walking encyclopedia encyclopaedia]] of a truly stunning range of topics, despite his saying he 'does not know everything there is to know.' At the end of 'Mercury in Retrograde', Vyn memorizes a whole book on household maintenance in a few days. This may actually be the reason for Vyn having earned his double doctorates at a young age.age as well as his being a natural born genius.
* [[spoiler: PrestigePeril:]] Still in effect, but even more so after his fourth personal story chapter and emphasized in his second birthday card story. [[spoiler: in fact, someone tried to assassinate his father, and sixteen year old Vilhelm.]] It's part of why he dislikes his birthday.
* PrincelyYoungMan: Seen as this by people around him. [[spoiler: thn you find out he really is probably an actual prince; namely a Ducal Prince. He's high ranked enough to be considered royalty, per Lost Gold.]]
* [[spoiler: ReallyRoyaltyReveal:]] Hinted at in the end of the Lost Gold storyline; proven in his personal story cards Food for Thought and Fetters of the Past. It's implied Vyn's childhood was not very pleasant because of his background.
* [[spoiler: RebelPrince: Son of the Duke of Haspran and only heir to the incredibly powerful House of Haspran, Vilhelm states he left because of religious conflict condemning his choice of career - the practice of psychology is taboo for Svart nobles and considered a 'domain of the Church,' and even his father's influence wasn't enough to sway the Church. Vilhelm took the opportunity to leave, changed his name to Vyn Richter and settled in the city of Stellis.]] Somewhat a zig-zagged trope however, since Vyn still [[spoiler: is the only heir and will use his real identiy, family name and influence if necessary, and per his fourth personal story, his father]] sends his most competent [[spoiler: OldRetainer bodyguard]] to become Vyn's [[spoiler: BattleButler]] because of [[spoiler: increasing conflict with the Svart Military and the Church of Svart.]]

[[spoiler: An elder female relative cared for him enough that he inherited her manor and the surrounding lands, and he seems to have spent a lot of time there, given that he says that he hunted in the forests in that area 'since he was the age of seven.']]

* TheSmartGuy: While the main cast is by no means unintelligent, considering they’re made up of two competent attorneys, a PrivateDetective, and a young CEO businessman with impressive artistic capabilities, Vyn is the one most classically suited to this trope. He’s a psychiatrist with a focus in criminal psychology and often teaches the basics of his field to the MC. Plus, he’s the only one to [[SmartPeopleWearGlasses wear glasses consistently]].
* WesternZodiac: Of all four, he is the one who matches his zodiac sign the most. Analytic, calm and has an expensive taste. Interestingly, several cards of him feature roses, the flower that belongs to Libra.

to:

* TeenGenius: Not the only one on the team per their backstories, but [[spoiler: he specifically states that he came back home from university to celebrate his sixteenth birthday, which means he was already attending tertiary level education at the Royal College of Svart at least from the age of fifteen, or even earlier, making him younger than Luke to have gone to college.]]
