*** Point: During the second half of the game, one of Asch's primary [[BerserkButton gripes]] with Luke was that Luke was behaving as though his being a replica made him less valuable than the original Luke. However, this trope isn't about the fact that there wasn't a ''reason'' (good or bad) for [[spoiler: Asch starting a fight, but that there was no reason that either of them had to stay back at all, either before or after the fight when they could easily have used their [[GreenLanternRing Hyperressonance]] just get past the door and then do whatever they felt like doing.]]

* HoYay - Peony's intro sequence involves claiming Jade as a personal possession. The whole getting-information-out-of-Dist sequence is just... [[DoesThisRemindYouOfAnything questionable]]. Jade being a card-carrying {{Tsundere}} (a Title localized as "Soft Meanie") makes it difficult to tell how he feels about either of them, but in ''Tales of Fandom 2'' he does get [[BigNo pretty distraught]] over the idea of Peony dying for a guy who says he's never understood what death means... SoYeah.

::'''Anise Tatlin'''

[[quoteright:300:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/anise.jpg]]

At first glance, Anise looks like ''that'' [[SecretCharacter character]]. The one with all the quirky and cute attacks that are ultimately useless and you don't use them if you can absolutely avoid it. However, despite the massive plushie she rides on during battle, she's actually a universal fighter, able to dish out punishment from up close and far away.

Anise serves directly under Fon Master Ion as his personal guard, escorting and protecting him wherever he goes (the manga reveals she also does other menial work for him when he's not running off trying to make peace between countries). She lives with her parents in Daath's cathedral, and it's later revealed that she's there because her parents have racked up so much debt that they essentially have no hope of paying it off. Ever.

Anise provides examples of the following tropes:
* AmazinglyEmbarrassingParents
* [[spoiler:TheAtoner - After Ion dies and she stops being a GoldDigger.]]
* BaseBreaker: Opinions about Anise vary widely. Some feel she's TheScrappy (see EasilyForgiven and GoldDigger), while others think she is a likeable character that keeps things from getting too heavy.
* BodyguardCrush
* DetachedSleeves
* EasilyForgiven - To the point you want to stab the TV.
* FeminineWomenCanCook - She's the best cook in the party.
* GenkiGirl - Well, compared to the rest of the cast, anyway.
* GlassCannon - Not so noticeable on your first run through the game, but God, does she die quick on higher difficulty levels.
* GoldDigger - She does get over this later, and it's also explained that she was so focused on money because [[spoiler:her parents are ''extremely'' gullible, and are constantly in ridiculous amounts of debt because they keep donating money they don't have to the CorruptChurch and they constantly fall for mail-order time share and vacation scams, and she wants to help them pay off their debts.]]
* ImprobableWeaponUser - While she's equipped with a staff, all of her physical attacks use her plushie.
* {{Kawaiiko}}
* LoveHurts
* LoveMakesYouCrazy
* [[spoiler: TheMole - For Mohs, for most of the game, culminating in the death of Ion.]]
* {{Pettanko}} - Justified though, in that she's only 13.
* [[spoiler:TheWoobie: Her parents were kidnapped and their kidnapper forces her to act as an unwilling [[TheMole mole]] in the party. Oh, and then the same kidnapper kills one of her closest friends and drives another of her closest friends to madness, forcing her to kill her. Poor Anise.]]
