However, they've let their fear of Gunmar cloud their judgments and decide to blame Jim instead of protecting trollkind and dealing with Gunmar. Of course, [[spoiler:they've been unknowingly influenced by Usurna to distract them and allow Gunmar to take Trollmarket for himself]].
* DidntThinkThisThrough: If they're so worried about Gunmar being freed and are willing to send Jim – their ''own Trollhunter'' – to his doom, why hasn't it occurred to them that Jim possesses the ''only'' weapon capable of slaying the one troll they fear most?
* DirtyCoward: Toby accuses them of being this, being too scared to deal with Gunmar and risk the life of a human child that would've caused scrutiny for TheMasquerade. Additionally, they were not even willing to deal with a couple of ''minor Gumm-Gumm scouts'' that trailed Jim and the team could've ''easily'' handled them.
* HeroAntagonist: Serve as a secondary threat in Part Two. Although they're completely against Gunmar, the Tribunal are portrayed as a major obstacle for the Trollhunters after they escape the Darklands to save Jim. [[spoiler:However, one of them is later revealed to ''actually'' be evil.]]
