Adolfo Pirelli is a street mountebank who proclaims himself to be the king of the barbers and the barber of kings. With the help of his young assistant Tobias Ragg, he sells a "Miracle Elixir" that is exposed by Sweeney as an arrant fraud, "concocted of piss and ink."
