* AmbiguouslyBi: You have a good chunk of the fanbase convinced (to the point that it's almost become {{Fanon}}) that Dean is a closeted bisexual who is only recently (circa Season 8) starting to accept that aspect of himself, and they've made some good arguments--citing not only his ridiculous heaps of HoYay with Castiel but also his reaction to [[EvenTheGuysWantHim Dr. Sexy]], and it looks like he's checking out/flirting with other guys at least twice--but WordOfGod says he's straight.

* TheAlcoholic: By Season 7, he's about two steps away from becoming one, if he isn't already. Though he's been shown to drink a lot for most of the series, it becomes a more serious problem in season 7. Sam frequently calls him out on his drinking habits but it usually doesn't do much good. He's gotten a bit better in season 8 but is still shown to drink frequently.

* AmbiguouslyBi: He's been seen checking out men, he's got a thing for Doctor Sexy, his siren took male form, and that's not even getting into the whole Castiel issue.

** No longer debatable. At the end of Season 5, Dean settles down with a girl and a kid and tries to live a normal life. He ends up leaving them for several reasons, but the most driving one being the fact that hunting was in his nature. It was a part of him, and he voluntarily abandoned a normal family life for hunting evil once again.

* BrokenBird: [[GenderFlip Gender-flipped]]. Dean is repressed, stuffing down his real feelings for the sake of his family and the hunt. Throughout seasons three and four, particularly, he is a DeathSeeker with little hope and less of the humor he started with. And no wonder, after learning he broke the first seal for the lead-up to the Apocalypse and being unable to protect his brother from himself.

There is not an episode that goes by when he is not flirting with a girl or not attempting to pick up a chick. In season five, it was revealed that Dean is Sam's soulmate and that he and Sam share Heaven.
