During his reign, however, Augustus' personality began to change dramatically. He felt left out of the circle of death and rebirth by [[SpaceRunawayIdeon the Ide]] and wishing to surpass the supernatural power, Augustus left the throne and the Gebel Gan Eden, putting Ruach on the throne. Calling himself "Keisar Ephes", he intends to destroy and recreate the universe in his image as a hellish dimension of infinite suffering.

After the destruction of Balmar, Keisar Ephes pursues the Alpha Numbers in hopes to add their souls to his Neshama, since theirs are the most powerful in the universe. Despite his seemingly invincible powers, the Alpha Numbers are able to weaken his hold on the Neshama from [[{{Macross 7}} Fire Bomber vocalist Basara Nekki]], who turns the tide by playing a new song entitled "Gong". With the help of a returning Nashim Gan Eden, who was not destroyed at the end of ''Alpha 2'', Keisar Ephes is defeated and the primary conflict of the ''Alpha'' series is concluded.

Keisar Ephes was once the Psychodriver Augustus, a member of the [[{{Precursors}} First People]] who sired Earthlings and Balmarians in the ''Alpha'' universe. Augustus was the biological core of the immense Gebel Gan Eden, a mobile weapon meant to defend his people from the [[{{Gunbuster}} STMC]] (Space Terrible Monster Crowd). He, along with Irui, took the two Gan Edens and left the Earth for the planet Balmar in the ancient past to escape the STMC, along with a vast majority of the First People; the remnants stayed on Earth and became humans. Nashim and its pilot would later return to Earth to become its guardians, while Augustus stayed and ruled the fledgeling Balmarians, deified as Zfylud and the Spirit Emperor.

An active servant of Baral, Son Ganlong more of less works behind the scenes. Hailing from the ''[=RyuKoOh=] Denki'' manga, V.B. is an acquaintance of his, and he views her as a very important person, even more important than the [=RyuKoOh=]. His true name is Akrav, though only Irui and V.B. are allowed to call him by that. He ends up killing V.B. after she attempted to kill him.

He's told Devora several times not to call him Akrav, though she doesn't listen. She was eventually killed after she called him Akrav once more right after V.B. had died.

Many years later, he reappers with his Shin [=RyuOhKi=] once more. He fights with the current pilots of the Choukijin, Kusuha and Bullet, many times. !Kaoru Tomine

Creator and developer of the [=RaiOh=], Doctor Kaoru Tomine wanted to create a world where the perfect soldier could exist to fight. He would use the "Lead Innovation Organic Harmony" (LIOH) System built into the [=RaiOh=] to do it.

In an effort to take revenge on Bian Zoldark for neglecting the LIOH System, Dr. Tomine creates the third Dynamic General Guardian using Bian's third [=DGG=] plans given to him by Shu and programming it to destroy the Dygenguard and Aussenseiter. In ''Alpha 3'', upon seeing the Dygenguard, its test pilot Touma [[BerserkButton goes on a rampage]]. In the ''Second Original Generation'', Dr. Tomine builds the third [=DGG=] called the "[=JinRai=]" instead, programmed with an artificial intelligence called the "S-ZLAI". !!Touma Kanou (Voiced by YasuyukiKase)
http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/touma.jpg
-->''"Soar! Faster and stronger than lightning!!"''

The male SuperRobot hero of ''Alpha 3'', Touma is just your normal delivery boy, with a minor background in Karate, but when delivering supplies to the Tomine Labs, the city comes under attack by the returning Balmarians. Current lab head [[HotScientist Minaki Tomine]] urges him to save the lab using the [=RaiOh=], the third Dynamic General Guardian. Touma luckily manages to somehow pilot it thanks to his karate skills and the fact he's using a MotionCaptureMecha. Joining the Alpha Numbers, he finds himself entangled with the final stages of the Balmar War and gains a rivalry with Balmarian General [[BoisterousBruiser Baran Doban]]. As his story progresses, Touma continues to hone and refine his skills [[TrainingFromHell from multiple combat veterans, soldiers, martial artists, cyborgs, including Sanger]].

Touma makes a cameo in ''Original Generation Gaiden'', but had yet to meet his machine, though he gets himself in trouble when Shura General Magnaz Ald harasses him for being too defiant on his beliefs during the initial invasion by the Shura. He's saved by Kouta Azuma and never seen again in the game. He reappears in the ''Second Original Generation'', still performing delivery jobs, but after reuniting with Kouta and seeing the mass-produced [=JinRai=] rampaging through Asakusa City, he tags along with the Steel Dragon Battle Group as a civilian volunteer. It's by chance he becomes acquainted with Minaki, who is distressed her father Kaoru Tomine built the [=JinRai=] for his own ambitions and hurting innocents. Touma insists she come along with him, and after much convincing, hea gets Minaki to devise a plan to capture the [=JinRai=], then modify it into the [=RaiOh=] for him to use and he officially joins the team as a pilot. Upon meeting Kaoru, he calls him out for his sociopathic actions, even overcoming the deadly LIOH System built into the [=RaiOh=]. Throughout the game, he's trained by [[Characters/SuperRobotWarsAdvance Axel Almer]] [[spoiler:and continues his training with him aboard the ''Kurogane'' at the end of the game]].
[[hardline]]
* {{Badass}}: Goes without saying as a SuperRobot pilot, but Touma isn't ''just'' badass - he's badass enough to get [[BadassGrandpa Baran Doban]] to call him a WorthyOpponent. To frame this in the proper context, consider Baran only ever extends that honor to [[MemeticBadass Sanger]] in the other ''Alpha 3'' routes.
** BadassNormal: Compared to other ''Alpha 3'' protagonists, Touma has the most plain and unlikely background for a HumongousMecha pilot. Compared to Kusuha and Bullet (two powerful Psychodrivers), Cobray ([[spoiler:a Balmarian clone of Ingram with a RealityWarper mecha]]) and a professional spy (Selena), Touma is a simple delivery boy with knows some karate. After tons of TrainingFromHell, he becomes one of the biggest badasses in the setting.
* BerserkButton: The BigBad of ''Alpha 3'' had the gall to shoot Minaki, until a super furious Touma kicks him in the face STRAIGHT TO HELL. ''Nobody'' messes with Minaki.
* BrainwashedAndCrazy: Deliberately invoked - the LIOH System pumps high amounts of adrenaline into the pilot. Too much {{Hotblooded}}ness gets Touma into a berserker frenzy, forcing Sanger to disable the [=RaiOh=] when it happens.
** RedEyesTakeWarning: Touma gets these when it happens, too.
* CharlesAtlasSuperpower: In a universe where it's possible to [[RealityWarper manipulate space-time and erase your enemies from existence]], the [=RaiOh=]'s combat style is simply being an ExtremityExtremist to the nth degree.
* TheDeterminator: [[TrainingFromHell As a means of training]], nearly every veteran member of the Alpha Numbers beat him to an inch of exhaustion. When Baran defeats him on multiple occasions, Touma essentially asks for more. To top it off, he overrides the LIOH System purely through will.
* DynamicEntry + HotWings = [[strike:[[Franchise/KamenRider Rider Kick]]]] [=DaiRaiOh=]'s ''Jinrai'' (literally "divine lightning")
* EarlyBirdCameo: In ''Original Generation Gaiden''
* ExtremityExtremist: All of the [=RaiOh=]/[=DaiRaiOh=]'s attacks exclusively use kick techniques; only a few instances of the [=DaiRaiOh=]'s stronger attacks are a few punches seen. To exemplify this, the basic "Harken Impulse" attack fires an energy bolt launched from the machine's legs.
* FlashStep: A vital component to the [=RaiOh=]'s appearance in the ''Second Original Generation'' and its version of "Rising Meteor".
* FunWithAcronyms: [=RaiOh=]'s control system [=LIOH=] stands for "Lead Innovation Organic Harmony".
* GameplayAndStorySegregation: [=DaiRaiOh=]'s map-clearing attacks displayed in its introductory stage are unfortunately not replicable.
* HighlyVisibleNinja: Despite being the {{Ninja}} of the Dynamic General Guardians (Dygenguard as the {{Samurai}} and the Aussenseiter as TheGunslinger), the [=RaiOh=] is NOT a stealth-oriented machine, due to its [[BattleAura bright lights]], [[ScarfOfAsskicking red scarf]] and [[ScreamingWarrior pilot]]. However, this trait only applies to its appearance in the ''Second Original Generation''; still, the [=RaiOh=] retains the grace and [[LightningBruiser blinding speed of a ninja]].
* HotBlooded: Oh, boy...even in a series brimming with multiple trope users, he ''still'' manages to stand out as one most spirited amongst originals.
** Also PlayedForDrama: since the LIOH System is designed to make the [=RaiOh=] more powerful by increasing its user's {{HotBlooded}}ness at the cost of driving them insane, the system is removed. When he requests Minaki to reinstall it into the [=DaiRaiOh=] in a moment of desperation, he manages to override the LIOH system through will and this trope, [[BeyondTheImpossible breaking the LIOH's limits]] and achieving the [=DaiRaiOh=]'s true potential.
* {{Leitmotif}}: ''Toushi, Hatenaku'' ("Fighting Spirit Without Limit"); upon receiving the [=DaiRaiOh=], ''Shippuu Jinrai'' ("Swift Wind, Divine Thunder").
* LightningBruiser: [=RaiOh=] and [=DaiRaiOh=] can move at alarming speeds to connect devastating attacks. Bonus points for actually incorporating lightning-based attacks.
* MeteorMove: "Rising Meteor (Inferno)" and ''Jinrai'' techniques heavily incorporates all three types.
* MeaningfulName: [=RaiOh=] is written as "雷凰" ("Raihou"), which roughly means "lightning phoenix". In the [=DaiRaiOh=]'s ''Jinrai'' attack, it sprouts enormous wings of energy.
* MidSeasonUpgrade: [=DaiRaiOh=]
* ScarfOfAsskicking: [=RaiOh=] and [=DaiRaiOh=] are a {{homage}} to Franchise/KamenRider, after all.
* ShockAndAwe: [=RaiOh=]'s "Counter Break" and [=DaiRaiOh=]'s "Counter Spike Charge"
** ShockwaveStomp: [=RaiOh=]'s "Lightning Fall" and [=DaiRaiOh=]'s "Plasma Spiral Dive"
* ShoutOut: His units' are a massive one to Franchise/KamenRider, sans the motorcycle.
* ShutUpHannibal: In ''Original Generation'', since Minaki is too distraught on what her father did, Touma is the one telling Kaoru to shut up about surpassing Bian and tells him righteously the latter's the villain who deserves to be wronged.
* SpellMyNameWithAnS: Is it "[=RaiOh=]" or "[=LIOH=]", after its control system?
** Definitely the former. The [=LIOH=] System is written in letters while the mecha's name appears as "雷凰".
%% TookALevelInBadass
* TrainingFromHell: [[DrillSergeantNasty Tetsuya]] [[GreatMazinger Tsurugi]] is his primary instructor; later, Touma's training basically amounts to "getting punched by everyone in the Alpha Numbers".
* WorthyOpponent: Gains the attention and respect of Baran Doban, who only hands out the same courtesy to [[MemeticBadass Sanger]] if Touma is not the chosen protagonist.

!!Cobray Gordon/[[spoiler:Ayin Balshem]] (Voiced by Creator/YuukiTai)
http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/cobray.jpg
-->''"[[spoiler:Now, [[DeaderThanDead return to nothingness]]...in the midst of this infinite light!]]"''

The male RealRobot hero of ''Alpha 3'', Cobray is a mysterious pilot encountered by the Alpha Numbers with no memories of his past. However, it wouldn't take players long before they found out why Cobray's story is perhaps one of the more insightful and nostalgic of the ''Alpha 3'' plots.

[[spoiler:Cobray was originally a Balmar soldier named "Ayin", and part of the Balshem line of clones. During a reconnaissance mission to Earth, he finds a damaged Astranagant and prepares to haul it away back to Balmar when the machine suddenly becomes sentient, attacks and absorbs his mech. Somehow, both machines fuse into a new unit called the Werkbau and Ayin loses his memories, assuming the name "Cobray Gordon". He is picked up and rescued by the Alpha Numbers having regaining consciousness. Throughout his story, the soul of Ingram Prisken residing in his body and the Werkbau occasionally possesses him. Turns out Ingram is attempting to possess his body completely to resume his duties as the Time Diver, but overtime, Cobray develops enough willpower to refuse submission. In fact, Cobray's existence was ''erasing'' Ingram, thus he acknowledges Cobray's will and works in tandem with him, evolving the Werkbau into the Dis Astranagant. After defeating Keisar Ephes, Cobray takes Ingram's mantle as the Time Diver and vanishes, performing his duty as the one who perserves balance between multiple universes]].

Cobray makes a few appearances in ''Original Generation''. In ''Divine Wars'', he is shown fighting against [[spoiler:another Ingram in the Astranagant]]. The two are separated by the combined forces of their machines' strongest attacks directed at each other, [[spoiler:but Cobray reappears again during Operation SRW against Septuagint, where he frees the damaged SRX and temporarily merges the Dis Astranagant with it, forming the "[[FanNickname DiSRX]]]]". He also appears once in ''Original Generations'', telling that version of [[spoiler:Ingram]] it's not yet time for him to make his appearance, but knowing Banpresto, expect Cobray to make one DynamicEntry in the sequels.

Tropes associated with Cobray and his machines are:
[[hardline]]
* AMatchMadeInStockholm: Princess Almana Tiqvah, the Balmarian priestess, gains a small crush on him after Cobray uses her as a hostage to escape from a Balmarian ''Hermodr'' battleship. When it turns out the [[PraetorianGuard Golar Golem]] of the Ze Balmary Empire aren't going to hestitate to shoot them down, even with the princess aboard Cobray's mecha, he does his best to protect her. Subverted since Cobray's ObliviousToLove.
* AmnesiacDissonance
* AttackDrone: Werkbau's [[spoiler:and Dis Astranagant's]] "Gun Slave"
* BadassAbnormal: Despite being listed as a RealRobot pilot, [[spoiler:the Dis Astrangant is more akin to a LovecraftianSuperpower HumongousMecha crossed with the abilities of a [[DoctorWho TARDIS]]]]. However, he does initially pilot a [[MobileSuitGundamCharsCounterattack mass-produced Nu Gundam]], after the Alpha Numbers are uncertain of the Werkbau's capabilities.

!!Selena Recital (Voiced by Yuuko Satou)
[[quoteright:200:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/selena_3810.png]]
[[caption-width-right:200:Were you looking for the [[{{Gainaxing}} bounce?]]]]

-->''"[[GratuitousSpanish Adios]], [[spoiler:[[BigBad Spirit Emperor]]]]. And adios... my battlefield."''

Female RealRobot heroine of ''Alpha 3'', Selena is an extremely playful, flirtatious woman with very... uh..."mobile" pairs of breasts. She's assisted by RobotBuddy "Elmo", a little communicative support robot in charge of assisting her piloting, serving as her co-pilot. Selena tends to speak with GratuitousSpanish. A member of the "Team Jelba", she is the SoleSurvivor after they are wiped out by a Balmarian squad led by Spectra [=McCready=]. Selena swears {{Revenge}} and jumps from faction to faction to find her. [[spoiler:Due to Spectra's resemblance to Viletta Vadim]], Selena stalks her throughout ''Alpha 3'', but after meeting with Ibis Douglas and the rest of the Project Terrestrial Dream, she slowly lets go of her vengeance-filled tendencies.

Players often she Selena as a FlatCharacter, and her ending is [[GainaxEnding so vague]] it leads to many {{Epileptic Tree}}s, because she just vanishes. The [[WildMassGuessing most popular theory]] is she's a member of the [[Characters/SuperRobotWarsAdvance Shadow-Mirror]], but nothing has been proven.

Selena appears in ''[[VideoGame/SuperRobotWarsOriginalGeneration Dark Prison]]'', the story pertaining to [[Characters/MasouKishin Shu Shirakawa]] in ''VideoGame/SuperRobotWarsEX''. She, alongside her comrade Albharda of the Team Jelba, are tasked by the Earth Federation to find the destroyed remains of Shu's Neo Granzon following the events of ''Original Generation Gaiden''. In the midst of their search in space, the team is summoned to La Gias; coincidentally, they find [[spoiler:Shu, recently resurrected by the Cult of Volkruss]]. With little direction and most of their missing teammates still unaccounted for, Selena and Albharda uneasily align with him for the duration of their stay in La Gias. When they return to the surface, they continue to assist him [[spoiler:by moping up the remaining [[Characters/SuperRobotWarsClassic Guests]]]].

In ''Alpha 3'', Selena pilots the slightly {{ninja}}-like robot Soleares, [[MidSeasonUpgrade later upgraded to the AS Alegrias]]. In ''Dark Prison'', she uses a mass-produced Gespenst MK II "Gesterben" Custom, first seen in the photo novel ''Record of Fallin' Deceased X''. She and her machines embodies these tropes:
[[hardline]]
* AceCustom: Gesterben Custom in ''Dark Prison''
* BadassNormal: Out of the ''Alpha 3'' protagonists, the Soleares/AS Alegrias is the only unit that really qualifies as a RealRobot. On foot, she's able to keep up with the likes of [[NewMobileReportGundamWing Duo Maxwell]], Viletta Vadim, and even [[GaoGaiGar Primevals]].
* BirdsOfAFeather: Gets along pretty well with [[Characters/MasouKishin Saphine Grace]] in ''Dark Prison'', to which she wanted Selena to stay in La Gias; Selena declines as she still has work to finish in Team Jelba.
* CharacterizationMarchesOn: Selena's portrayal in Dark Prison is much more serious-minded than her often coy and playful Alpha 3 self. Justified in that she's on a mission in Dark Prison and in Alpha 3 she never intended to stick around with anyone very long, hence she never felt a need to show her "real self" for a long while.
* CrazyPrepared: Elma carries around a flashbang inside of himself at all times, just in case he and Selena need to make a speedy escape.
* EveryoneHasStandards: Selena ''does'' like Saphine's fashion sense... but the Wizol Custom creeps her the hell out even though Saphine loved the design so much she resolved to recreate it.
* GetAHoldOfYourselfMan: When Al was about to enact "Mission Devil" and kill Shu right there and then, Selena snaps him out of it and tells him to concentrate on the bigger things that are happening, [[spoiler: which is the summoning of Shiva Volkruss.]]
* GratuitousSpanish: Aside from her combat quotes, some of the Soleares and Alegrias attack names are also in Spanish.
* HeelFaceRevolvingDoor: In the beginning of ''Alpha 3'', she spends a short while working with ZAFT.
* HeroicBSOD: Has one in ''Alpha 3'' when Amuro points out that while her previous actions (save herself by shooting down Sleigh's Vegalion and feigning another FaceHeelTurn, yet ensure Sleigh ejects unharmed) are understandable, it's hard for the rest of Alpha Numbers to trust her.
* JackOfAllStats: In ''Dark Prison'', she's the middle ground between the three pilots who can switch mecha [[note]]Al's more suited with melee oriented attacks while [[Characters/SuperRobotWarsOriginalGeneration Yong Gebana]] is more suited to ranged attacks.[[/note]] She makes up for it by having the "Continuous Attack" Twin Spirit Command[[note]]If the enemy/enemy twin is destroyed, move again.[[/note]]
* {{Leitmotif}}: "Crying Survivor"; upon receiving the AS Alegrias, "Invisible AS"
* MsFanservice: Though subverted whenever Selena dropped the coy, flighty attitude during Alpha 3. Even more notable in Dark Prison.
** {{Gainaxing}}: Part one of her {{Fanservice}} qualities is largely due to her [[SuperMovePortraitAttack pilot cut-ins]]. Her breasts bounce A LOT ([[MaleGaze with the camera zooming at her chest, too]]), leading this into FetishRetardant for some players. Naturally, this has led her to become [[Pantheon/PersonalAppearance the trope goddess for this site]]); ''Dark Prison'' ups the ante by giving an additional cut-in with the same amount of bounce.
** {{Stripperiffic}}: That outfit says it all
* GameplayAndStoryIntegration: ''Unlike'' Touma's map-clearing displays of power during the [=DaiRaiOh=]'s debut, the Alegreias is perfectly capable of obliterating clusters of even high-level mooks in one go, just as does when Elma pulls a BigDamnHeroes moment to rescue Selena and Armana. However...
* GameplayAndStorySegregation: Selena herself is just an ordinary person, albeit having combat training. Her machine is just a Frankenstein abomination of mook suits, with its fancy Prism Phantom making use of antiquated optic camouflage. In terms of gameplay though, the Alegrias is one of ''the'' most broken Banpresto Original units with every attack being usable post-movement (including a MAP that doesn't hit allies and has a lower morale requirement than Banpreios's Telekinetic Missiles), said attacks have low EN cost, and one of them's a post-movement ALL attack which is coincidentally one of her stronger moves.
* MasterOfDisguise: Spends a week infiltrating a Blue Cosmos operation... as a [[SamusIsAGirl man]].
* MysteriousPast: Selena remains tight-lipped about herself, let alone her past, though certain aspects of her mecha and methods hint she may be affiliated with the Shadow-Mirror. For now, it remains a matter of [[WildMassGuessing speculation]].
* PrecisionGuidedBoomerang: Gesterben Custom's "[[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boomerang#Related_terms Kylie]] Cleaver"
* OutsideContextVillain: Inverted. Nobody knows who Selena really was or where she came from. To the Golar Golem she was just another face in a squadron obliterated by them. She nevertheless makes her presence known and plays a critical role in toppling the Balmarian Empire.
* SitcomArchnemesis: Elma and [[SmallAnnoyingCreature Chika]], [[spoiler:Shu's]] familiar, can't seem to get along. It's one of the few things Selena states she'll miss when they part ways in ''Dark Prison''.
* SpellMyNameWithAnS: Is it "Elmo" or "Elma"? Is it "Jelba" or "Yelba"?
* SpikesOfVillainy: Played with - she's not a villain, yet has a bad case of HeelFaceRevolvingDoor.
* StepfordSmiler: How she hides her anguish of being a SoleSurvivor. She plays off the charade of a playful [[TheTease tease]].
* TakingTheBullet: Her most significant sign of CharacterDevelopment in ''Alpha 3'' is when she uses herself to shield Sleigh from Spectra's attack. It even causes Spectra into a VillainousBreakdown, realizing Selena is putting friendship over a grudge.
* TechnicolorNinjas: Soleares/AS Alegrias in a nutshell. Interestingly, Selena herself operates like a RealLife ninja (save for the flashy uniform) via infiltrating enemy ranks and adapting their knowledge and technology for her own purposes.
* WhipItGood: The energy knives for the Soleares/AS Alegrias can double as whips. Selena also carries a human-sized one, usually used when she's sneaking.

!!Kaoru Tomine

[[spoiler: In addition, Kaoru also took elements of the GEIM System and the ODE System, implementing it with the LIOH System. Eventually, the [=JinRai=] is confiscated by the Steel Dragon Battle Group and extensively modified into the [=RaiOh=]]].
[[hardline]]
* TheGhost: Only referenced in ''Alpha 3''; averted following his first on-screen appearance in the ''Second Original Generation''.
** AdaptationalVillainy: ''Alpha 3'' never made it clear what his intentions were. We are told he despises Bian and wished to surpass him with the [=RaiOh=], regardless of the costs. The ''Second Original Generation'' reveals a sociopathic obssession to achieve his goals, without considering the suffering of innocents. Naturally, this didn't sit well with his daughter.
* GoodHairEvilHair
* [[spoiler: KilledOffForReal]]
* MadScientist
* ObviouslyEvil: Once he's made his on screen appearance, you can easily guess that he's downright evil, since he probably takes tips from the likes of [[Anime/MazingerZ Doctor Hell]], appearance-wise.
* VillainousBreakdown: [[spoiler:Kaoru went down with his ship screaming off how he's supposed to be better than... Bian, Kisaburou and even Juergen combined.]]

!!Minaki Tomine (Voiced by MiyuMatsuki)

Head of the Tomine Labs, Minaki is Kaoru Tomine's daughter and the systems developer for the [=RaiOh=]. She serves as Touma's MissionControl and LoveInterest.
[[hardline]]
* TheAtoner: One of the reasons for joining the Steel Dragon Battle Group is to right the wrongs committed by her father.
* [[spoiler:HackYourEnemy]]: [[spoiler: Exclusively in ''Original Generation'', Minaki removes the S-ZLAI in the [=JinRai=] after it's captured by the Steel Dragon Battle Group and overhauls it into the [=RaiOh=]]].
* [[MadScientistsBeautifulDaughter Mad Scientist's]] [[HotScientist Hot]] [[MadScientistsBeautifulDaughter Daughter]]: ''Alpha 3'' only. [[spoiler:The ''Second Original Generation'' changes Minaki into Kaoru's adopted daughter]].
* MissionControl
* PowerLimiter: In ''Alpha 3'', during the [=DaiRaiOh=]'s Jinrai attack, Minaki removes the limiters restraining the machine's Plasma Drive.

!!Princess Almana Tiqvah

Balmarian princess and the priestess of Zyflud.
[[hardline]]
* DistressedDamsel
* TheOjou
* {{Stripperiffic}}

!!Luria Kayitz (Voiced by Natsuki Katou)

Successor of the Kayitz family, one of the twelve royal houses in the Balmar Empire, Luria is the bodyguard to Princess Almana.
[[hardline]]
* [[spoiler: HeelFaceTurn]]
* MeaningfulName: "Luria" is the surname of a long-standing rabbinical family in western Europe, while "Kayitz" is the Hebrew word for "summer". Luria comes from an arid region of Balmar, which explains her dark-skinned complexion.
* UndyingLoyalty

!!Baran Doban (Voiced by Tadashi Miyazawa)

Head of the Doban household, Baran is the commander of Balmar's Imperial Guards and another loyal protector of Princess Almana.
[[hardline]]
* AncestralWeapon: The Bemidoban is at least 500 years old, and an heirloom of the Doban family.
* BadassMustache
* BoisterousBruiser: [[TitleThemeTune Ware Koso Wa... Ware Koso Wa... BARAN DOBAN!]]
* CoolOldGuy
* EpicFlail
* EverythingsBetterWithSpinning
* [[spoiler: HeelFaceTurn]]
* {{Leitmotif}}: ''Ware Koso wa Baran Doban!''
* WorthyOpponent: To Touma, but if the player does not choose him as the protagonist in ''Alpha 3'', it's Sanger.

!!Albharda (Voiced by Susumu Akagi)

A black-skinned soldier, Albharda is a friend of Selena and a member of Team Jelba. While he does not appear in ''Alpha 3'' proper, he is mentioned by name from Selena when she reminsces about her team being destroyed by Spectra [=McCready=], noting Albharda as one of the casaulties.

He makes his playable debut in ''Original Generation'' alongside Selena in ''Dark Prison'', his default machine being the Gesterben Type-G, although he could also pilot the [[SuperRobot Grungust Type-2/Nishiki]].
[[hardline]]
* AscendedExtra: From a mere mention into a playable character for ''Dark Prison''.
* GratuitousSpanish: Just like Selena, he also peppers some Spanish phrases.
* HonorBeforeReason: During [[spoiler: Volkruss' summoning]], he actually thought that he should enact "Mission Devil" right there and then to get his revenge plus completing his mission. Luckily, Selena snaps him out of it.
* TheLancer: In ''Dark Prison'', as Shu usually confides a lot of sensitive stuff to Al, which does surprise both parties.
* {{Leitmotif}}: "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_TUTHvc2gD0 Cheerful Survivor]]"
* PosthumousCharacter: ''Alpha 3''
* {{Revenge}}: [[VideoGame/SuperRobotWarsOriginalGeneration During the Antarctica Incident]], [[Characters/MasouKishin Shu]] killed his friend Jessica and wants revenge. [[spoiler: He never does go through with it.]]
* SpellMyNameWithAnS: Is it "Albharda" or "Alberta"?
* SuperRobot: Although he does start out in a RealRobot, players usually transfer him to the Grungust Type-2 because his pilot skills plus his spirit commands complement the Grungust Type-2. Just give it a flight module for the first 20 stages and he's good to go.
* SupportingProtagonist: Surprisingly in ''Dark Prison'' as his storyline takes more precedence compared to Selena.
* TeethClenchedTeamwork: Does not really want to work alongside Shu as the latter killed his girlfriend (alongside several people aboard the Shirogane) during the Antarctica Incident. Though by the end of it, [[spoiler: he lets Shu go as he saw that Shu kept his word about saving Earth.]]
* ThePromise: He makes Shu promise that he comes back to Earth when the Earth is in danger again. [[ForegoneConclusion Time will tell whether Shu comes back and he's still alive though...]]

[[spoiler: Keisar Ephes was once the Psychodriver Augustus, a member of the [[{{Precursors}} First People]] who sired Earthlings and Balmarians in the ''Alpha'' universe. [[spoiler: During his reign, however, Augustus' personality began to change dramatically. In his abscence, Augustus began devouring souls of those sacrificed in his name. Calling himself "Keisar Ephes", he intends to destroy and recreate the universe in his image as a hellish dimension of infinite suffering]].

[[spoiler: After the destruction of Balmar, Keisar Ephes pursues the Alpha Numbers in hopes to add their souls to his Neshama, since theirs are the most powerful in the universe. !!Son Ganlong[=/=][[spoiler:Avot Akrav]] (voiced by Creator/NobuoTobita)

He oftenly says that he's still a protector of the Earth, even though he's fighting against them. He was in disbelief at first when he found out that they were the ones that defeated Nashim Gan Eden, but later realized that they were strong. He also encounters Ratsel on battlefield, and quickly recognizes him as a Branstein, since he's similar in looks to his ancestor. Ratsel has also heard about him, but denies being a Branstein.

Son Ganlong talks down to Bullet and Kusuha constantly, which annoys them greatly. He was rather surprised when the souls of Buouki and Jakuouki merged with Ryukoou once more, since it's only happened once in the past.

He betrays the Nashim Gan Eden and sides with Balmar instead, since he wasn't happy about the current pilots of the Choukijin being chosen to be her current swords, rather than him.
