In ''Original Generation 2'', her story begins during her days as a test pilot for Project TD. [[AdaptationExpansion In an extension to her back-story]], Sleigh's piloting capabilities are ''so'' acclaimed she states she was scouted by the "[[AmazonBrigade Troye Unit]]" of the "[[Character/SuperRobotWarsOriginalGenerationAntagonist United Colony Corps]]" before the "[[CivilWar Divine Crusaders War]]", but declined in order to assist her brother with Project TD. She retreats when the Inspectors attack the Tesla-Leicht Institute, but discovers Filio chooses Ibis to be the pilot of the Astelion, not her (as she can tell, it's not colored red). Enraged and jealous as [[Characters/SuperRobotWarsOriginalGenerationSteelDragonBattleGroup Ratsel Feinschmecker]] [[LampshadeHanging lampshades it]], Sleigh defects to the Neo Divine Crusaders, who are also planning to re-take Tesla-Leicht in hopes to rescue Filio. She encounters Ibis and quickly decimates her despite Ibis using the Astelion, but her memories as friends prevents her from killing her, causing Sleigh to somewhat fall from grace among the Neo Divine Crusaders. Although she indirectly assists Ibis and her comrades defeat the Inspector [[Characters/SuperRobotWarsClassic Vigagi]] at the "Moon Cradle", Sleigh departs, feeling unworthy to fight alongside Ibis. In ''Original Generation'', Arado is one of the "Boosted Children", an alumna of an ex-[[TheFederation Earth Federation]] facility called "The School", designed to train children and teenagers into pilots through harsh mental exercises and physical training. Designated as "Bronzo-27", he, Seolla and [[Characters/SuperRobotWarsOriginalGenerationAntagonists Ouka Nagisa]] are drafted into the Neo Divine Crusaders with their "instructors". Arado is intent on finding any Boosted Children survivors of the program, particularly "[[[[Characters/SuperRobotWarsOriginalGenerationSteelDragonBattleGroup Latooni-11]]", and following a crazy stunt to protect Seolla that gets his mech shot down, he narrowly survives, but is taken by the crew of the ''Hagane''. To his surprise, Latooni-11, now going by "Latooni Subbota", is among the battleship's pilots. After being convinced The School and Neo Divine Crusaders are manipulating him, Arado [[HeelFaceTurns defects]] to the "Earth Federation Army", now intent on getting Seolla and Ouka out from their clutches. Like ''Alpha 2'', he manages to bring Seolla back, despite heavy MindManipulation. In the end of ''Original Generation 2'', [[Characters/SuperRobotWarsOriginalGenerationSteelDragonBattleGroup Kai Kitamura]] drafts him into the reformed "Aggressors".

The RealRobot heroine of ''Alpha 2'', Ibis Douglas is introduced as a delivery girl with really clumsy piloting skills, assisted by her friend and co-pilot Tsugumi Takakura. When one of her deliveries goes astray in a battlefield, she ends up helping the "[[HeroesRUs Alpha Numbers]]". Initially, Ibis is soft-spoken and prefers not to speak of her origins, but occasional encounters with a woman named Sleigh Presty out for her blood reveals a past Ibis has wanted to forget: she used to be a training pilot under "Project Terrestrial Dream", a space venture-turned-military project due to budget constraints, until an unfortunate tragedy pits her into HeroicBSOD. Ibis eventually makes amends with it and starts showing her potential: she's an exceptionally gifted pilot, and convinces Sleigh to join her and the Alpha Numbers. In her story for ''Alpha 2'', she befriends the mysterious girl Irui, and is deeply crushed when she departs in the ending. In ''Alpha 3'', Ibis reappears exclusively in the route for [[Characters/SuperRobotWarsAlpha3 Selena Recital]].

''VideoGame/SuperRobotWarsOriginalGeneration'' [[AdaptationExpansion expands on Ibis' past before the accident in greater detail]]. She's a member of Project Terrestrial Dream, yet is such a klutz when piloting, she's earned the moniker "The Shooting Star" as an insult, since she constantly gets shot down in simulations. Despite this, she's chosen by Filio to be the pilot of the prototype Astelion, which enrages Sleigh, believing she has more to offer and defects to the [[Characters/SuperRobotWarsOriginalGeneration Neo Divine Crusaders]]. Ibis pushes forward and contributes greatly to defeating the [[Characters/SuperRobotWarsClassic Inspectors]] and the [[Characters/SuperRobotWarsCompact2 Einst]]. Before the "ODE Incident" in ''Original Generation Gaiden'', the Astelion is retooled into the Astelion AX (Advanced X), which she uses to survive an ambush from Kyle Bean, a co-conspirator of [[Characters/SuperRobotWarsOriginalGeneration Wilheim von Juergen]].

Like ''Alpha 2'', Ibis inherits Project Terrestrial Dream's completed machine the Altairlion months prior to the start of the ''Second Original Generation''. However, Ibis does not develop HeroicBSOD like her ''Alpha'' counterpart, but is soon caught up with other events, such as getting summoned into [[VideoGame/SuperRobotWarsGaiden La Gias]], and fighting the [[Characters/SuperRobotWarsOriginalGeneration Gaia Sabers]] following the "Langran CivilWar". To her horror, Sleigh has taken the Vegalion, the companion craft to the Altairlion, and aligned with the Gaia Sabers. Ibis resolves to snap some sense of her. In this {{Continuity}}, Ibis is the one who gives Irui a keepsake pendant (as opposed to the other ''Alpha 2'' protagonists, even though they get her share of attention as well).

* ACupAngst: At first it was just a product of MemeticMutation because Ibis was the only heroine that did not have a bouncing breasts animation. ''2nd Original Generation'' seems to ascend that into reality, especially when Ibis was genuinely shocked as Kanan told her that she's not interested in slender types like her.
** It's closer to "B Cup Angst" as she's around that size while the ''Original Generation'' setting is a WorldOfBuxom.
* BadassNormal: Lampshaded in the games. Tsugumi states Ibis is completely normal compared to her peers, who either have PsychicPowers, genetic modifications, BornLucky, etc. Despite this, she can keep up fairly well. See MagikarpPower for more.
* BestForLast: Of the ''Alpha 2'' originals, Ibis has to wait the longest to get her proper MidSeasonUpgrade. Moreover, while the others earn theirs by a mid-playthrough, Ibis instead receives a stat boost and a new attack for the Altairlion. The actual Hyperion upgrade doesn't appear until the tail-end of the character-specific scenarios. The Hyperion makes up for this by possessing a MAP Attack, something not found in the other protagonists' {{Mid Season Upgrade}}s, and a total of three pilots, meaning three sets of Spirit Commands. Repeated again in ''Original Generation'', where Ibis goes through multiple prototypes before receiving the Altairlion, then the Hyperion.
* BigApplesauce: [[AllThereInTheManual Supplemental works]] cite Ibis' birthplace as New York City.
** Turns into DoomedHometown in ''Original Generation'': it's mentioned two meteors fell to Earth before the arrival of "Meteor-3"; New York City and Moscow were the locations.
* BittersweetEnding: Her ''Alpha 2'' ending, [[spoiler:where Ibis is unable to save Irui from the destruction of the Nashim Gan Eden. {{Retcon}}ned in ''Alpha 3'' with Selena's story, just as the ending for [[Characters/SuperRobotWarsAlphaGaiden Sanger Zonvolt]] rectons with [[Characters/SuperRobotWarsAlpha3 Touma Kanou]]]].

* CaptainErsatz: To [[Anime/{{Gunbuster}} Noriko Takaya]], but without the {{Gainaxing}} and not as HotBlooded. Additionally, compare the Astelion and Altairlion to [[Anime/SuperDimensionFortressMacross variable fighters]]. In fact, the analogy to Noriko could be taken further, as the Hyperion may be Banpresto's interpretation of a {{Real Robot|genre}}-based ''Anime/{{Gunbuster}}''.
** Her ''Alpha'' incarnation is more specifically a parallel to the protagonist of ''Super Mobile Legend Dinagiga''. Her plot mirrors it almost exactly, down to the oddly romantic relationship she has with an amnesiac co-pilot (who is mentally young instead of physically young due to AmnesiacDissonance), and the same white-dimensional-space scene where the love interest sacrifices herself to keep the protagonist from killing herself to rescue her. About the only difference is the kiss they share.
* CharacterDevelopment: Perhaps the most significant one in the ''Alpha'' series.
** Her character growth in ''Original Generation'' is nothing to sneeze at. She manages to top it off in the ''Second Original Generation'' [[spoiler:by not only outflying the Vegalion (canonically the more agile of the two), but catching it and bringing it to a dead stop with the Altairlion...in it's ''slower and less maneuverable "Doll Form", no less'']].
* CombiningMecha: Hyperion
* FragileSpeedster: The Astelion outflew [[Characters/SuperRobotWarsClassic Aguija's Silverwind]], which is already a speed demon. A great compensation because the Astelion's armor is oh, so horrible.
** LightningBruiser: That trophy mentioned above? It's harder to unlock ''because'' of how mobile the machine is, coupled with the unit ability "Mirror Image"[[note]]At 130 Will, gain a 50% chance of evading any non-MAP attack[[/note]], Ibis' own "Counter" pilot skill[[note]]If an enemy's skill stat is 20 points less than the pilot's, pilot will attack first when the enemy attacks[[/note]], terrain rating, and "Ace Bonus"[[note]]+1 to movement[[/note]]. With a few mobility-based equippable parts, nothing can touch the Hyperion whenever it's in play, even on [[HarderThanHard EX-Hard Mode]].
*** Justified InUniverse: the Altairlion and Hyperion are equipped with "Twin Tesla Drives". The output of these drives isn't a simple "Tesla Drive x 2", but "Tesla Drive ''squared''"; the Hyperion is ''exponentially'' faster.
* {{Flanderization}}: Ibis is ''not'' flat-breasted (she's a B-cup, at best); it's just her {{Gainaxing}} animation is the least noticeable of the ''Alpha 2'' heroines and fans ran wild with it. When she appears in ''Original Generation 2'', it's official.
* HeroicBSOD: She's basically stuck in one of these [[spoiler:after accidentally killing Filio]], though she's rather good at hiding it. It takes a lot of motivation to get her out of it.
* {{Leitmotif}}: ''Ryusei, Yoru wo Kirisaite'' ("Shooting Star, Cut Through the Night"; localized as "Shooting Stars"); gets upgraded to Ver. H upon obtaining the Hyperion.
* {{Lolicon}}: Depending on how her last scenes with Irui in ''Alpha 2'' are interpreted, including their relationship in general. Either way, the LesYay is exceptionally heavy.

* MagikarpPower: Starts out really slow, but when properly "raised", she's ''excellent''.
** To reiterate, Ibis' stat gains are horrible throughout the first half of ''Original Generation 2'', but should players reach level 50 with her, the gains become ''so significant'', she can become one of the top tier characters. This is alluded to in-game, with multiple references to her "piloting potential".
* MechaExpansionPack: Astelion AX, but is a subversion - [[http://static2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20111009015542/superrobotwars/images/6/66/Astelion.png the original]] had over-sized shoulder boosters, whereas [[http://static2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20111009015639/superrobotwars/images/2/21/Astelion_Ax.png the AX]] took them out and is refitted with larger nacelles.

* SpellMyNameWithAnS: Is it "Ibis" or "Ivis"?
** It's "Ibis": "Ivis" came from people who never played the game she debuted in (where the very first thing you see is her name in English as "Ibis") and assumed that all "b's" in Japanese must be "v's", even though Ibis follows the ThemeNaming of her and her partner (avians) and is, in fact, a real word.

* SweetTooth: An honest one. She loves [[TrademarkFavoriteFood cheesecake]] and looks very {{Moe}} when eating it.
** Taken to its extreme in the ''Second Original Generation'': in a save-quit dialogue with Tytti, Ibis is offered tea. Tytti, who also has a SweetTooth, added in ''6 sugar cubes'' to it...yet Ibis doesn't mind. Tsugumi lampshades on the absurdity of Ibis' taste buds... and the fact that those two ''never get fat'' because of it.

Ibis, however, continues to grow skillfully, even outfly her, leading Sleigh to understand Ibis' plight, and combining their respective machines to form the Hyperion. In ''Alpha 3'', Sleigh is separated from her comrades, but encounters Selena, whom she befriends and later reunites with Ibis to fend off the invading Ze Balmary Empire in their second attempt at conquering the Earth.

By the ''Second Original Generation'', upon hearing news of her brother's death, Sleigh steals the completed Vegalion, knowing the Altairlion is bequeathed to Ibis. Although similarly summoned to La Gias, the Vegalion is spotted by Ibis and Tsugumi, but Sleigh does not reveal her identity right away. Following the Langran Civil War, Sleigh is under the employ of thte Gaia Sabers, and planning to defeat Ibis and take away the Altairlion. However, Ibis' continuous increase in skills and the fact the Gaia Sabers reveal themselves to be a less favorable faction, Sleigh becomes disillusioned and defects from them, yet wants to settle the score with Ibis once and for all. Ibis not only proves she has become the better pilot, it convinces Sleigh to join her and their allies to fight the Gaia Sabers and otherworldly invaders.

* TheAce: Was the top pilot with Project Terrestrial Dream, and she will make sure you remember that.
* BigBrotherWorship: So... much. It's also {{Deconstructed}} as the death of Filio becomes the climax of her irritation towards Ibis who is favored her and technically did a FaceHeelTurn until she's knocked some sense in it.
* CharClone: Subverted; between the nickname, the red mecha, and the uniform, all she's missing is a mask.
* {{Expy}}: With the amount of skills, talent and haughtiness (and that [[YouGottaHaveBlueHair long, blue hair]] to boot), Sleigh is a blatant copy of [[Anime/{{Gunbuster}} Kazumi Amano]].
* GreenEyedMonster: Loads of this for her ''Original Generation'' counterpart, in regards to Ibis. She gets over it.
* HeelFaceRevolvingDoor: Especially in ''Original Generation'' - she goes from Divine Crusaders -> Project Terrestrial Dream -> Neo Divine Crusaders -> Mercenary work -> [[Characters/MasouKishin Shutedonias Army]] (unofficially) -> Gaia Sabers -> [[Characters/SuperRobotWarsOriginalGeneration Steel Dragon Battle Group]]
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: Sleigh is very confrontational and easily pissed, but for the most part, she was meaning to give good criticisms for others to improve. This trope also becomes a point that Sleigh couldn't bring herself to kill Ibis even when she had a good opportunity and finally enables her to listen to reason and rejoin her.
* LawOfChromaticSuperiority: She likes red color on her mecha, and her machines are sometimes... well...[[ShoutOut three times faster]].
* TheLancer: Not only for Ibis after her turn towards face, but also Selena in Alpha 3.

The male hero of the RealRobot route of ''Alpha 2'', Arado looks less of an AcePilot, since he mostly [[IdiotHero acts like a complete moron]], which pisses off his {{Tsundere}} partner/girlfriend Seolla, but [[CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass pushing the right buttons and he turns into a complete badass]]. Oh, and [[BornLucky the God of Luck smiles upon him like no other]] (except maybe Kyosuke and Tasuku). His story in ''Alpha'' starts out with him being a member of the [[Anime/MobileSuitZetaGundam Titans]] along with Seolla, but due to some circumstances, he ends up in the Alpha Numbers, realizing the folly of continuing to support the faction, even convincing Seolla to abandon the Titans. Along the way, he befriends Irui and is entangled in the Sealing War with the guardian of the Earth. By ''Alpha 3'', he and Seolla tag along exclusively with the enigmatic Cobray Gordon, helping him recover his lost memories.

For ''Original Generation Gaiden'', Arado is captured by the Bartolls during the ODE Incident and though saved, he witnesses new comrade [[Characters/SuperRobotWarsAdvance Lamia Loveless]] destroyed in a surprise attack by Wilheim von Juergen. Arado resolves to fight harder to honor Lamia, even stopping new ally [[Characters/SuperRobotWarsOriginalGeneration Kouta Azuma]] from going on a lone, suicidal mission to save his younger sister [[Characters/SuperRobotWarsOriginalGeneration Shouko]]. He continues to serve the Aggressors in the ''Second Original Generation'' when old faces from The School appear amongst the Gaia Sabers, except they're decidedly [[{{Jerkass}} less pleasant]] than Ouka, Seolla or Latooni and antagonize Arado and his friends.

In ''Alpha'' and ''Original Generation'', NOBODY knows what kind of mech fits him, since all he does is employ blitz-based tactics, hoping for a successful DeathOfAThousandCuts. Fortunately, he settles with the Wild Wurger. Tropes associated with Arado and his machine are:

* AscendedExtra: in a way he is both this AND DemotedToExtra as he is arguably the Deuteragonist of the ''VideoGame/SuperRobotWarsOriginalGeneration'' 2. His and Latooni's plot take place second only to Kyousuke's, thought this is debatable, and in ''2nd Original Generation'', his relations with Irui gets reduced because the other Alpha 2 protagonists are already lining up for interacting with her, though Arado DOES get to tangle with more School Children (which makes no appearance in Alpha 2). In other words, he and Seolla had their plot merged with Latooni rather than staying more tuned to their Alpha 2 plot[[note]]And considering the situation with Cobray Gordon (see his section for more details), it's less likely for Arado to retread his cameo in Cobray's story[[/note]]

* BigEater: Can eat three helpings in one sitting. He's also one of the few people to say Kusuha's [[GargleBlaster health drink]] is...* shudder* ...''delicious''. Hilariously implied he can stand the drink because he lacks taste buds.
* BerserkButton: Seolla's well-being - insult and/or harm her in some form, and you might as well kiss your ass goodbye because Arado WILL make you regret hurting the partner he's been trained since birth to work alongside.
** Unless the "insult" part is about her GagBoobs, to which he'll happily join in and get a whack to the face for his troubles.
** Archibald trips a smaller one briefly in ''Original Generation 2'' when he calls Arado by his School monniker.

* CloningBlues: [[spoiler:The ''Original Generation'' Machinery Children are based on him]].
* CombinationAttack: "Twin Bird Strike"

* DeathOfAThousandCuts: Wild Wurger's "Victim Beak" (localized as "Raptor Wings"); {{Retool}}ed post-ContinuityReboot in ''Original Generation'', where the attack is not done by the wings, but through the Wurger's "Cold Metal Sword" as it flies at extreme speeds and dices up its target.
* EpicFlail: [[spoiler:During the escape from Mao Industries on the moon, he's given a Boost Hammer to hold off the Inspectors. It's the best weapon to come by when all Arado ever does is DeathOfAThousandCuts]].
* {{Expy}}: Arado's basically a younger, more error-prone version of [[Characters/SuperRobotWarsCompact2 Kyosuke]]
* GenerationXerox: The Wurger in ''Original Generation'' to the [[Characters/SuperRobotWarsCompact2 Alt Eisen]] - both machines are suited for melee-combat, with a similar left-hand machine gun cannon, a unique right-hand mounted weapon and can execute an exclusive CombinationAttack with a long-ranged, bombardment-based unit. It's even mentioned that the Alt's Combat data was the basis for it's design. Unlike the Alt, it uses the Huckebein chasis instead a Gespenst, and it's a FragileSpeedster instead of a Tanker.

In ''Original Generation'', Seolla is designated "Bronzo-28" of The School and joins Arado, Ouka and their instructors with the Neo Divine Crusaders. One such instructor named [[Characters/SuperRobotWarsOriginalGeneration Agilla Setme]], in an attempt to boost her fighting skill after Arado's stunt which leaves Seolla believing he's dead, subjects her with loads of FakeMemories and MindManipulation, thinking Arado is completely an enemy. Filio's work with Project Terrestrial Dream would result in the creation of the Altairlion and Vegalion. Unfortunately, he would not live to see the fruition of his dreams, as he is tragically killed in an accident when testing the Altairlion.

In ''Original Generation'', urged by his closed friend Elzam, Filio aligned with Bian Zoldark's Divine Crusaders, developing the Lion series and its multiple variants. Following the L5 Campaign against the Aerogaters, Filio moved Project Terrestrial Dream to Isurugi Industries, the only company willing to take them in because of his ties with the Divine Crusaders, but was forced to relocate back to Tesla Leicht when the Neo Divine Crusaders posed a threat to his work. In an expansion of his back-story, Filio develops the Calion and Astelion prototypes as the first units of Project Terrestrial Dream. However, they only barely saved The First from a massive meteor shower and the STMC. Thus, The First tasked the Gan Edens with a new mission: seed life on another habitable planet, Balmar.

After settling on Balmar was completed, Gebel remained to protect Balmar while Nashim returned to their homeworld, better known as Earth. She found that most of the The First left the planet as well, but the bloodline of her creators mixed with the younger race of humanity. Nevertheless, Nashim stayed to protect her homeworld and its current inhabitants, who consider her a supreme deity. Both Gan Edens were devoted to their duties as protectors: with Gebel, he created twelve artifical moons ''Neviim'', while Nashim created twelve mechanical gods and blessed four of man-made mechanical gods to help her protect Earth.

Unfortunately, Nashim suffered badly while repeling an invasion of the Hundred Evils, forcing her to hibernate for thousands of years, while losing most of the original mechanical gods. Turns out there are two entities of her: Irui herself and the other the Earth's guardian goddess "Nashim Gan Eden", the name of the titanic mobile weapon the guardian uses. With the "Garden of Baral", Irui attempts to seal the Earth from extraterrestrials to prevent the Earth from being placed in danger anymore. This doesn't sit well with the protagonist and the Alpha Numbers, as they believe such an act will lead to the halt and stagnation of human evolution. [[MultipleEndings Depending on the chosen protagonist]], the younger Irui may be rescued (Arado or Kusuha's endings) or destroyed (Ibis or Sanger's endings) along with the Nashim Gan Eden. Fortunately, Banpresto opts to give players Irui back, where she's NotQuiteDead, appearing in the final scenario of ''Alpha 3'' with the Nashim Gan Eden to help defeat Keisar Ephes.

Irui also appears in the ''Second Original Generation'', and the same events from ''Alpha 2'' occur, except all of the ''Alpha 2'' protagonists get to interact with her. At first, she doesn't seem to have an important past to speak of, but encounters with a woman named Sleigh Presty out for her blood gives her shades of a past that Ibis has wanted to forget: she used to be a training pilot under "Project Terrestrial Dream", a space venture-turned-military project due to budget problems, where a training accident ends it when she kills her mentor Filio Presty, Tsugumi's fiancee and Sleigh's older brother. Ibis eventually makes amends with her past and starts showing her potential: she's actually a great pilot, and convinces Sleigh to join her and the Alpha Numbers. In her story for ''Alpha 2'', she befriends Irui, and is deeply crushed when she departs in the ending. In ''Alpha 3'', Ibis reappears exclusively in Selena Recital's route.

''Original Generation'' [[AdaptationExpansion expands on Ibis' past before the accident in greater detail]]. She's a member of Project Terrestrial Dream and a complete klutz in piloting, to the point she's called "The Shooting Star" as an insult, since she constantly gets shot down in simulations. Despite this, she's chosen by Filio to be the pilot of the prototype Astelion, which enrages Sleigh, believing she more to offer and defects to the Neo Divine Crusaders. Ibis pushes forward and contributes greatly to defeat the Inspectors and Einst. Before the ODE Incident, the Astelion is retooled into the Astelion AX, which she uses to survive an ambush from Wilheim von Juergen's co-conspirator Kyle Bean.

Ibis inherits Project Terrestrial Dream's completed machine the Altairlion months prior to the start of the ''Second Original Generation'', but before there can be a test flight, Filio succumbs to sickness and passes away. Ibis, however, does not develop a HeroicBSOD like her ''Alpha'' counterpart, but is soon caught up with other events, such as getting summoned into La Gias, and fighting the Gaia Sabers after the Langran Civil War. To her horror, Sleigh has taken the Vegalion, the companion craft to the Altairlion, and aligned with the Gaia Sabers. Ibis resolves to snap some sense of her. In this continuity, Ibis is the one who gives Irui a keepsake pendant (as opposed to Sanger, Kusuha or Arado, even though they get her share of attention as well).

* BestForLast: Of the Alpha 2 originals, Ibis has to wait the longest to get her proper midseason upgrade. Everyone else gets theirs during stage 31, while during Ibis's version of that stage she simply gets over her personal demons and gains both a stat boost and a new attack for the Altairlion. The Hyperion doesn't get to be formed until stage 37, the last of the character-specific stages, where Ibis buries the hatchet with Sleigh and they finally combine their machines. The wait is well worth it, as the Hyperion possesses both a MAP and an ALL attack -two things that aren't to be found on the other heroes' upgrades- and three pilots means three SP pools. Repeated again in the OG games, with Ibis having to wait three games and ''seven years realtime'' to finally get the Hyperion.

A stray little girl whom the chosen protagonist of ''Alpha 2'' encounters in the middle of a battlefield, Irui is taken under his/her care in the Alpha Numbers. However, her prescence triggers strange entities called the "Custos" to appear sporadically near the Alpha Numbers, whether it's attacking or assisting them. Day by day, Irui, while still kind-hearted and [[{{Moe}} adorable]], starts falling ill which culminates in her disappearance. [[spoiler:When she reappears, Irui takes on the figure of an adult woman, claiming herself as "Irui Gan Eden", the Guardian of the Earth. Turns out there are two entities of her: Irui herself and the other the Earth's guardian goddess "Nashim Gan Eden", the name of the titanic mobile weapon the guardian uses. With the "Garden of Baral", Irui attempts to seal the Earth from extraterrestrials to prevent the Earth from being placed in danger anymore. This doesn't sit well with the protagonist and the Alpha Numbers, as they believe such an act will lead to the halt and stagnation of human evolution. [[MultipleEndings Depending on the chosen protagonist]], the younger Irui may be rescued (Arado or Kusuha's endings) or destroyed (Ibis or Sanger's endings) along with the Nashim Gan Eden. Fortunately, Banpresto opts to give players Irui back, where she's NotQuiteDead, appearing in the final scenario of ''Alpha 3'' with the Nashim Gan Eden to help defeat Keisar Ephes]].

[[spoiler:Irui also appears in the ''Second Original Generation'', and the same events from ''Alpha 2'' occur, except all of the ''Alpha 2'' protagonists get to interact with her. At first, she doesn't seem to have an important past to speak of, but encounters with a woman named Sleigh Presty out for her blood gives her shades of a past that Ibis has wanted to forget: she used to be a training pilot under "Project Terrestrial Dream", a space venture-turned-military project due to budget problems, where a training accident ends it when she [[spoiler:kills her mentor Filio Presty, Tsugumi's fiancee and Sleigh's older brother]]. Ibis eventually makes amends with her past and starts showing her potential: she's actually a great pilot, and convinces Sleigh to join her and the Alpha Numbers. In her story for ''Alpha 2'', she befriends Irui, and is deeply crushed when she departs in the ending. In ''Alpha 3'', Ibis reappears exclusively in Selena Recital's route.

In ''Alpha 3'', Sleigh is separated from her comrades, but encounters Selena, whom she befriends and later reunites with Ibis to fend off the invading Ze Balmary Empire in their second attempt at conquering the Earth.

By the ''Second Original Generation'', upon hearing news [[spoiler:of her brother's death]], Sleigh steals the completed Vegalion, knowing the Altairlion is bequeathed to Ibis. Although similarly summoned to La Gias, the Vegalion is spotted by Ibis and Tsugumi, but Sleigh does not reveal her identity right away. Following the Langran Civil War, Sleigh is under the employ of thte Gaia Sabers, and planning to defeat Ibis and take away the Altairlion. However, Ibis' continuous increase in skills and the fact the Gaia Sabers reveal themselves to be a less favorable faction, Sleigh becomes disillusioned and defects from them, yet wants to settle the score with Ibis once and for all. Ibis not only proves she has become the better pilot, it convinces Sleigh to join her and their allies to fight the Gaia Sabers and otherworldly invaders.

In ''Original Generation'', Arado is one of the "Boosted Children", an alumna of an ex-Earth Federation facility called "The School", designed to train children and teenagers into pilots through harsh exercises and training. Designated as "Bronzo-27", he, Seolla and [[Characters/SuperRobotWarsOriginalGeneration Ouka Nagisa]] are drafted into the Neo Divine Crusaders with their "instructors". Arado is intent on finding any Boosted Children survivors of the program, particularly "Latooni-11", and following a crazy stunt to protect Seolla that gets his mech shot down, he narrowly survives, but is taken by the crew of the ''Hagane''. To his surprise, Latooni-11, now going by Latooni Subbota, is among the battleship's pilots. After being convinced The School and Neo Divine Crusaders have been manipulating him, Arado defects to the Earth Federation Army, now bent on getting Seolla and Ouka out from their clutches. Like ''Alpha 2'', he manages to bring Seolla back, despite heavy MindManipulation, [[spoiler:but fails to save Ouka, who sacrifices herself to save her siblings]]. In the end of ''original Generation 2'', [[Characters/SuperRobotWarsOriginalGeneration Major Kai Kitamura]] drafts him into the reformed Aggressors.

In ''Original Generation'', Seolla is designated "Bronzo-28" of The School and joins Arado, Ouka and their instructors with the Neo Divine Crusaders. One such instructor named [[Characters/SuperRobotWarsOriginalGeneration Agilla Setme]], in an attempt to boost her fighting skill after Arado's stunt which leaves Seolla believing he's dead, subjects her with loads of FakeMemories and MindManipulation, thinking Arado is completely an enemy. Fortunately, Arado proves Agilla's mind-wiping methods don't work, and manages to snap her out of her stupor. She assists him and his allies in retaking the Earth Cradle, [[spoiler:but is hearbroken they cannot save Ouka]]. At the end of ''Original Generation 2'', she joins Arado as part of the reformed Aggressors and is consistently with him, including getting captured by and rescued from the ODE Incident in ''Original Generation Gaiden''. Credited as the innovator behind the flight-capable Tesla Drive, Filio was also head of "Project Terrestrial Dream", a personal venture of his intended for deep-space exploration, but due to budget concerns, the project was rendered as part of the military. Filio's work with Project Terrestrial Dream would result in the creation of the Altairlion and Vegalion. [[spoiler: Unfortunately, he would not live to see the fruition of his dreams, as he is tragically killed in an accident when testing the Altairlion]].

In ''Original Generation'', urged by his closed friend Elzam, Filio aligned with Bian Zoldark's Divine Crusaders, developing the Lion series and its multiple variants. Following the L5 Campaign against the Aerogaters, Filio moved Project Terrestrial Dream to Isurugi Industries, the only company willing to take them in because of his ties with the Divine Crusaders, but was forced to relocate back to Tesla Leicht when the Neo Divine Crusaders posed a threat to his work. In an expansion of his back-story, Filio develops the Calion and Astelion prototypes as the first units of Project Terrestrial Dream. Additionally, he develops the pair of [[VideoGame/SuperRobotWarsOriginalGeneration Fairlions]]. At the end of ''Original Generation Gaiden'', Filio unveils the completed Altairlion, ready for its first phase of testing. She attacks the Earth Cradle and destroyed nearly everyone there, except Sanger and Sophia, only to capture the latter, but made it look like she was KilledOffForReal, sending Sanger into a RoaringRampageOfRevenge. After fighting him several times, Sanger began to see her plight, but Kukuru refuses to be pitied, culminating in a final battle where Sanger spares her, but the Custos from the Garden of Baral kills her for endangering Sanger, [[spoiler: as he is a close friend to their master, Irui]]. In her dying breath, she reveals Sophia is alive and well.

Kukuru reappears in the ''Second Original Generation'', only this time, she is a servant of the Garden of Baral. In an extension to her story, Kukuru was a princess of an ancient Japanese empire [[spoiler: that was attacked and destroyed by Baral centuries ago. With her kingdom in ruins, Kukuru was forced into servitude and promised by Son Ganlong of her parents' resurrection if she fulfills their new duties]]. She retains most of her rivalry with Sanger in the ''Second Original Generation'', [[spoiler: but her consistent failings forces Ganlong to send the [[Characters/SuperRobotWarsOriginalGeneration [=TouTetsuOu=]]] after her. To add insult to injury, he states her parents have been DeadAllAlong after being eaten alive by the [=TouTetsuOu=] (which does not simply consume human bodies, but also their souls), meaning if Baral fulfills their objectives, there's no possible way of bringing them back]].
