* RecurringElement: Of Bonetail from the second game. They're both more powerful, white versions of the red, draconic Chapter 1 bosses at the bottom of the Pit of 100 Trials.
* SealedEvilInACan: A psychotic robotic dragon with a god complex that was sealed away by the Tribe of the Ancients at the bottom of the Flipside Pit of 100 Trials.
* SuperPrototype: Wracktail is much stronger and more dangerous than Fracktail.

A mysterious creation of the Ancients who waits for the heroes at the bottom of the Flopside Pit of 100 Trials. He actually wants to KillAndReplace the heroes to get revenge on his Ancient creators. Why? Well, it's implied that he's the Pixl Queen from Carson's stories in some form or another. Either way, he creates clones of the heroes and battles them as a BonusBoss.

* AIIsACrapshoot: He was created by the Ancients, but he makes it clear he's not taking orders from anyone. Plus, he tries to destroy the heroes when he was intended to help them.
* BonusBoss: He has 400 HP total and all of his attacks do at LEAST 10 damage. So... yeah.
* CastingAShadow: He's a living shadow, and doesn't seem to have a true form (Or at least, not one we get to see in-game).
* EvilKnockoff: Of the heroes, of course. Dark Luigi looks more like Mr. L, though.
* FauxAffablyEvil: Seems to be this, especially if you subscribe to the theory that he is the Pixl Queen, which would mean he singlehandedly killed off the Ancients.

A butterfly Pixl that serves as Mario's ExpositionFairy. It's revealed through the backstory that she's Timpani, the love of Blumiere. After Blumiere's father banished her, he was driven mad by his grief and became the WoobieDestroyerOfWorlds that is Count Bleck.

* ButterflyOfDeathAndRebirth: Was dying when found by Merlon, [[EmergencyTransformation turned into her Pixl form to save her]], and makes a HeroicSacrifice at the game's end.

* EmergencyTransformation: Courtesy of Merlon, who had to transform her into a Pixl to keep her alive. This caused her to lose her memories, but she slowly regains them over the course of the game.
