* WeaponOfChoice: The representation of the PC on the game's box art uses The Roman Candle.

* GreenEyedMonster: His motivation for exiling 4Kim and [[spoiler: trapping Bryllcream in a garbage truck]] seems to be jealousy, as a phone message shows Bryllcream intended 4Kim to be the Troop Master if anything happened to him.

* DeadpanSnarker: S/he is one hell of a smartass.

* GenderFlip: If the player swaps his/her gender during character customization and leaves with the opposite gender, (s)he will comment on it afterwards:

** Just as Buck National hold the player at gunpoint with an assault rifle, they show off their [[RealTimeWeaponChange real time weapon change menu]] to show that s/he isn't defenseless.

* LoserProtagonist: In the beginning, at least. S/he is stuck in a dead-end job for Fizzco as a custodian to a party s/he can't even participate in. This turns out to save him/her once the...[[ZombieApocalypse side effects]] of Overdrive become more apparent, and basically from that moment forward s/he gets progressively more badass.

* TheSlacker: The player-character is portrayed as lazy and directionless prior to the OD attack, and (s)he admits that they spent most of their lives just drifting before the apocalypse.
* ShowyInvincibleHero[=/=]SmugSuper: Thinks s/he's one as the game goes on. It's really hard to disagree.

* InsaneTrollLogic: Advises the Player at one point to drink Overcharge as s/he's climbing a building because climbers need oxygen, Overcharge has carbon dioxide and carbon dioxide has double the oxygen!

* HiddenDepths: Despite acting like a flippant uncaring {{Jerkass}} with ComicBook/{{Deadpool}}-esque MediumAwareness near the start of the game [[spoiler: The player considers themselves to have been an aimless drifter until Horror Night. Slowly they began to soften up to the people they met in their adventure, and when Fizzco decides to [[DeadlyEuphemism "destroy the evidence"]] of their crimes, the player sacrifices their shot at cleanly escaping Sunset City to save them.]]

* WizardNeedsFoodBadly: While not a mechanic in the game proper, the PC references this trope when their health is about to run out.

* CloudCuckooLander: He's extremely weird, often saying extremely unusual things. Doesn't stop him from being really good at cooking up Amps, though.

* SouthernFriedGenius: In spite of his incredibly strong accent and his mannerisms--threatening to shoot anyone who gets near, an appreciation for heavily armed folks, an even deeper appreciation for those that know how to use them--he owns and knows how to use complex video equipment and computers to make his eponymous TV show.

* TheHeavy: Since you don't interact with anyone in charge of Fizzco, Fizzie is used when there needs to be a face to the company..

* WhoNamesTheirKidDude: The player spends a lot of time after learning his name baffled at the absurdity of ''Bryllcream''.

* BadassBeard: In line with his age, he's got quite the impressive set of facial hair.

* TheNicknamer: He spends most of the game referring to Player as "Asshole", partially due to Player himself having NoNameGiven. [[spoiler: Even after his empathy chip is reactivated, simply because he has no idea what else to call him.]]

* CaptainErsatz: His appearance is reminiscent of Lord Humungus from ''Film/MadMax2TheRoadWarrior''.
* JerkJock: While whether or not he is an athlete is up for grabs, his interactions with the Fargarth certainly brings this to mind.
