* BerserkButton: Her ability, aptly named Berserk, makes her do the double of damage when she is reduced to half of her health.

* RealMenWearPink: Bogdan tried to learn ballet dancing, but clownbots at his circus made fun of him for it and making him leave the circus. When prompted by Piper, he notes that ballet takes as much strength and bettering of the body as being a strongman like he is. After defeating the Big Bad, he decides he will establish a ballet academy rather than stay on with Piper's crew.

A scientist that worked for the Red Queen, she defects in favor of Piper after she finds nothing of use in researching for the Queen and the Royalists. She uses both Handguns and Sharpshooter guns.

* MobyShtick: Seabrass is a walking reference to Literature/MobyDick, with his backstory involving a vendetta story against a whale.

* FarmGirl: Before joining Piper, Sally and her family used to work in a moisture farm where they harvested water for the Steambots. Until the Royalists started to dig near the farm they lived and due to the oil extraction of the floor, the water harvested was now black and dirty, unable to be used properly. After that, her family lost the farm and has been on their own ways since then. She gets teary after she says this.

Beatrix is a soldier who can be found in a stranded freight in The Outskirts. Shipping some explosives to some miners, she was assaulted by a group of Scrappers but she managed to beat them off but they stole some cargo from her. She later sent a distress signal that was intercepted by Piper and she offers Bea to join her crew. She can use handguns and heavy weapons

Valentine Butterbolt is a browny-grey colored Steambot who enjoys chimney sweeping who used to worked as a chimney sweeper for the Royalists, but after hitting the retirement age he was sent to the retirement home. Thinking that there is more in his life after retirement, Piper recruits him and he can enjoy the adventures he dreamed off. He is a Sentry class fighter that is able to use Handguns and Sharpshooters.

The Royal Space Force, or the Royalists, are the governing group of robots who are in control of The Core and the Outskirts, they are diesel-driven robots who have been abusing their governing power for years, turning water into a currency and since they work with oil, they don't have the same problems the Steambots have. Their goal is to rebuild Earth by attaching pieces of the planet back into its place. They are the second enemy faction we will encounter in The Core.

* TheVillainSucksSong: After the Red Queen is defeated, a song by Music/SteamPoweredGiraffe will play called [[https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Q19JOcvhFvA&pp=ygUec3RlYW13b3JsZCBoZWlzdCBubyBtb3JlIHF1ZWVu No More Queen]] starts to play.

* DefectorOutOfDecadence: She used to research for the Royalists but after being sent to study things that weren't much of value, she decides to leave in favor of Piper and her crew.

* SpacePirate: Even more than the rest of his teammates, Gabriel talks like a pirate, has a hook and a peg leg and is the only one that actually sailed in an actual sea.

* RealMenWearsPink: Bogdan loves ballet, but people mocked that the big and very masculine robot liked what everyone considered feminine. Piper [[PetTheDog encourages Bogdan to keep practicing ballet]] and during the end of the game, Bogdan decides to leave the crew to start up his own ballet school.

* StatuesqueStunner: Piper is not only the tallest female playable character, but one of the tallest characters period. Unfortunately, this also means almost half of the covers in the game still leave her open to enemy fire.

* FarmGirl: Sally. Plays against most CountryMouse stereotypes in that she's rude, violent and mostly in this to earn enough Gallons to get herself a new farm to replace the one confiscated by the EvilEmpire.

Bogdan "The Great" Ivanski is the resident muscle of the crew and the embodiment of physical strength. Ivanski sets a focus on and excels at taking damage, taunting enemies and dealing that damage straight back out again. Having worked in the circus in the past, he left after people started to laugh at him because he liked ballet, joins up with Piper after she pays him well.

* MadeOfIron: Puns aside, all of Bodgan's passives are about surviving ridiculous damage, complete with an active ability to No-Sell any attack for one turn. The latter can also be gained through an equippable item.

* CoolOldGuy: Valentine. He's adamant about not spending the rest of his lifespan in an old 'bots retirement home.

* StatuesqueStunner: Piper is not only the tallest female playable character, but one of the tallest characters period. Her proportions would be rather attractive if she were human. (Unless you're into that. No judgment.) Unfortunately, this also means almost half of the covers in the game still leave her open to enemy fire.

* TalkLikeAPirate: "Gyaaaaarrggh! Seabrass be talkin' this way, cap'n!" He even says "Shiver me timbers!" when his hat's shot off.
