Ghostly infected that can go through walls, turn invisible, cause illusions and possess living creatures or objects-- they are identified by being accompanied by blue flames and having eerie purple eyes. They lack the ability to spread the black blood or even physically harm their prey (since you know, they're incorporeal entities), but they are dangerous enough to be a threat due to their mind games and effective magical arsenal.

[[spoiler: He not only is responsible for causing the mess that led to the Pandemic series of short stories, he bit and infected a beloved major character and made her go through the entire cycle of turning into a Nachzehrer. And that's just the least of what he's done!]]

*** Vulpes - Infected [[BalefulPolymorph who have taken on a fox-like form]], much like how people infected into Aviarias become gryphons. ** A cuccoon phase - After several days pass, the zombies spontaneously seal themselves inside of cucoons made of special Anthodia silk that are immune to all conventional and magical attacks. They also create the cuccoons in dark areas so the sun wouldn't instantly disintegrate them in their next form.
** The vampire phase - Once they break out of their cuccoons, they are reborn as demonic bloodsuckers who have a vulnerability to the sun and light magic. The hardest phase to defeat so far due to their incredible speed and strength, but at the same time, they lose their intelligence from before, becoming nothing more than instinctual hunters

This is a page entirely for Nachzehrer, which are recognized as TheHeartless for StarlitHeroics, as they are an incredibly powerful species of vampiric monsters that even outrank the Deathmoon Family's creatures. They live behind eye-shaped barriers called Hotashem (Xephixerean for "All-Seeing Eye"), the inside of which have altered pocket dimensions that represent the shattered personalities of the Nachzehrer, and are aided by Shiminuki (Japanese for Eliminator) and Sabanto (Japanese for Servant), both of them being a specific class of minion. Nachzehrer have crystals called Emptiness Shards which serve as their life force; however, they are volatile to the touch, and if are not destroyed in an amount of time, the defeated monster will reconstitute.
There is also a deadly disease related to these beings called RANTHEDIS, which if it infects someone, they will turn into a Nachzehrer in four days, depending on how bad they got it.
They serve as the antithesis to the Abyss Knights, a group specialized in fighting and neutralizing these creatures from the planet.
