* YoungerThanTheyLook: In ''Across the Spider-Verse'', Miles has matured a lot from his appearance in ''Into the Spider-Verse'' and you'd be forgiven for thinking he's 17-18 when looking at him, but he's still only 15. Presumably a rapid growth spurt (as Gwen herself calls him out for) comes with the Spider-Man genes.

* EstablishingCharacterMoment: When doing his introduction, Peter B. is shown that despite still being an experienced hero his personal life is a mess -- Failed business, death of his Aunt May, divorced from MJ, and using food for comfort.

* EstablishingCharacterMoment: When doing At the start of his introduction, Peter B. is shown sits on top of a parapet with a cup of coffee and a newspaper, showing that he's a bit more settled than the conventionally heroic Blonde Peter that appeared at the start of the film. The same intro also shows that despite still being an experienced hero his personal life is a mess -- Failed business, death of his Aunt May, divorced from MJ, and using food for comfort.

* RuleOfSymbolism: The idealised version of Peter Parker is a blond, blue-eyed paragon with a trim build and magazine cover looks. The worn-down and mistake-prone Peter B has dark hair, greying temples, a beer gut and a crooked nose.

* RuleOfSymbolism: The idealised version of Peter Parker is a blond, blue-eyed paragon with a trim build, enough personal funds to build his own secret base and magazine cover looks. The worn-down and mistake-prone Peter B has dark hair, greying temples, a beer gut gut, not a penny to his name and a crooked nose.nose.
* SadClown: He's just as quippy as any other Spider-Man and there's plenty of comedy to be had at his expense, but years of personal tragedies have also left him quite pitiable.

* WhenHeSmiles: When he's not being overly cynical or brooding, he actually has a really nice, sweet smile. This is especially notable when he returns to his dimension and shows up at MJ's door with flowers.

* WhenHeSmiles: When he's not being overly cynical or brooding, he actually has a really nice, sweet smile. This is especially notable in two instances; the first being when Miles points out [[BrickJoke his own Spider-Man actually did wear a cape]] and later when he returns to his dimension and shows up at MJ's door with flowers.

* MusclesAreMeaningless: Even the leanest of Spider-Men tend to have some musculature. Gwen on the other hand is waif-like despite her impressive strength.

* RiotGrrrl: Gwen (was) the drummer for an all-girl punk band and she went to her school dance wearing an outfit inspired by 90s grunge fashions.

* BatmanGambit: He pulls off a ''masterful'' one [[spoiler:by playing the Spider-Society like a violin, stealing their tech to build his own stabilizers, telling Miles what he needs to know to escape the Society, and then more or less orchestrating the Spider-Gang coming together to go find Miles.]]

* ParentalIssues: Make no mistake, Miles loves his dad. He's even made it his top priority to make sure that he is [[spoiler: not killed on the job just because its seen as ''fate'' by the other Spider-people]]. It's just that it is clear that he has more complications with him than his mom.

He's even made it his top priority to make sure that he is [[spoiler: not killed on the job just because its seen as ''fate'' by the other Spider-people]]. It's just that it is clear that he has more complications with him than his mom. This is mostly due to his dad telling him what he should think in order to have a good life rather than listen to Miles when he really needs to be understood. This is an understandable cause of conflict between the two but it's clear that they both care for each other deeply.

* AffectionateNickname: Hobie refers to her as "Gwendy" when talking to her. This is a MythologyGag, as the [[Characters/SpiderManLoveInterests original Earth-616 Gwen]] was called Gwendy by her friends -- and Peter, while they were dating.

Null edit; this was fine the way it was
