One of the oldest surviving beings in the Multiverse, Ozma was once an ancient and powerful Planeswalker, in the time when that meant god-like power and immortality. Sacrificing himself to close a time rift during the Time Spiral crisis inadvertently sent him thousands of years into the past and to the world of Remnant. A simple attempt to rescue an imprisoned princess, however, turned into much more than he bargained for when it drew the ire of the local gods...

One of the reasons he sought shelter with the Izzet League upon landing on Ravnica was because they were one of the guilds with no religious requirements, unlike the Selesnya or Orzhov.
