He isn't a regular part of the cast, nor is he part of Team Rose with Amy and Cream. He doesn't even appear on-page until the end of Issue #25, and even then, a one-panel shot of his Zombot form's [[SinisterSilhouettes silhouette]] is all that's seen of him. Thus far, he has only played significant roles during two of the last issues in the Metal Virus Saga, and in his 2020 Annual story.

An anti-Eggman mercenary group active during the war pre-series. They consisted of Smithy (a lion), Slinger (an ocelot), Whisper (a wolf), Claire Voyance (a howler monkey), and [[spoiler:Mimic (an octopus)]]. They were known for their black uniforms and video masks which allowed them to sync up and view each other's positions and performance. The team was disbanded pre-series due to Mimic [[spoiler:betraying them and]] killing everyone but Whisper.

A kindhearted mechanic who takes refuge in one of the villages attacked by the Badnik army. As his name suggests, he's very capable when it comes to machines.

He's in actuality an amnesiac Dr. Eggman, though Sonic and his friends initially believe he is faking his memory loss.

* AmnesiacDissonance: To say he's the complete opposite of Eggman would be an understatement.
* AmnesiacResonance: Some of Eggman's creative fixations bleed into Tinker's, like creating helper robots and building an amusement park called Eggmanland, but aimed towards making other people happy.
* BrokenPedestal: The villagers already know he's Eggman, but allow him to do what he wants because of his amnesia. Following the Metal Virus incident, it didn't take them long to clean out all of Mr. Tinker's toys that were made of discarded Badnik parts, as well as drive away Belle, who was created before that time.
* DeathOfPersonality: His ultimate fate at the hands of Dr. Starline and Metal Sonic. Once Eggman regains his memories, "Mr. Tinker" all but ceases to be.
* DidntThinkThisThrough: Despite having created Belle as a helper robot, it didn't occur to him that building a lighter into a ''wooden robot'' would lead to disastrous results. Although, considering [[HisOwnWorstEnemy the extent to which Eggman suffers from this trope]], him still doing so as Mr. Tinker is no surprise.
* EvilMeScaresMe: As Dr. Starline's attempts to bring Eggman back, Tinker slowly realizes who he was and is both horrified and terrified of the kind of person Eggman is.
* FaceDeathWithDignity: Issue #49 reveals he knew was he done for and accepted his fate, sending one final letter to Belle via a Motobug (later named "Motobud") to apologize and say goodbye.

While it was believed that the good doctor was faking his amnesia, it really ''was'' legit really is as nice as he seems, and was perfectly content in the village that rescued him. It isn't until Metal Sonic reunites with him that the Mr. Tinker alter-ego is destroyed forever.
* MirrorCharacter: To Dr. Eggman, which the comic continues to explore long after Mr. Tinker himself is erased.
** The two characters are both genius inventors with completely opposite moralities; Eggman wanting to build an empire dedicated to himself, Mr. Tinker wanting to dedicate his life to building inventions for others.
** Both men's scientific knowledge enables them to create life with Eggman's Badniks paralleling Mr. Tinker's creation of Belle. Mr. Tinker is shown to be able to repair and modify Badniks much like Dr. Eggman. One of the final moments of confirmation for Belle that Eggman and Tinker are the same is that both she and Orbot have similar experiences making food for their creators and Mr. Tinker took his coffee the same way.
** Starline ultimately cannot get Mr. Tinker to turn back even as he tries to show him the doctor's old evil plans, actions, or inventions. What ultimately triggers his return to Eggman is the [[ParentalFavoritism paternalistic]] [[EvenEvilHasLovedOnes affection]] he had for Metal Sonic; a moment of empathy that would normally characterize Mr. Tinker.
** [[AintTooProudToBeg Neither is above begging for mercy]], but Mr. Tinker ultimately accepts his fate and his final thoughts are about Belle and Metal Sonic's well-being; conversely, Eggman always [[DirtyCoward prioritizes his own welfare and panics when his life is at risk]].

* ShoutOut: It's not apparent at first, but Mr. Tinker draws a lot from [[Literature/TheAdventuresOfPinocchio Geppetto]] (in particular the ''Disney'' version) being a kindly toymaker and wood-carver. His creation of Belle, herself a reference to Pinocchio, really cinches it.

A group of kids who, as as the name states, are major fans of Sonic.

* DontTouchItYouIdiot: Jewel specifically tells one of the member not to touch some of the Metal Virus while she goes to help his friend down off a hay bale surrounded by some of the gunk. [[TooDumbToLive The dope pokes at it anyway when she's not looking]], gets it on his hand and unwittingly infects her in the process.
* {{Fanboy}}: All of them naturally, their premiere story focuses on them racing and rolling around like Sonic and they even get saved by Sonic (albeit him going so fast they, and the reader, can't see him).
* NoNameGiven: None of the individual characters are really named as of yet.
* ShoutOut: One of the members, the one with a pink shirt, is inspired by the titular ''WesternAnimation/StevenUniverse''. They have the same shirt and a similar kind of hair, except blond.
* UnwittingInstigatorOfDoom: Two of the members are the reason Jewel ended up getting infected by the Metal Virus (one had touched some of the gunk out of curiosity when she warned him not to, and the other already got some of it on her but didn't think it was that big a deal at the time). This in turn is what lead to Tangle getting infected later.

* ChangedMyMindKid: Don initially starts to pull a ScrewThisImOuttaHere when Nite insists on staying to help the citizens through the radio. But hearing him talking with a Resistance member over the air, he has a change of heart and comes back to aid him and barricade doors to keep the Zombots out.
* ContinuityCameo: Nite has a cameo in the Classic Sonic focused story "Sonic Learns to Drive," albeit heard only over the radio.
* NoCelebritiesWereHarmed: Nite is based off of [[Podcast/TheAdventureZone Clint [=McElroy=]]].

** Likely a coincidence, but this isn't the first time the franchise had a E-117 Sigma robot. According to a now defunct ''[[ComicBook/SonicTheHedgehogArchieComics Sonic Universe]]'' blog post that detailed the fates of the other E-Series up to E-123 Omega, that universe's E-117 Sigma fought E-102 Gamma and managed to infect him with a "[[VideoGame/MegaManX Zero Virus]]" before being destroyed.

An improved version of a [[VideoGame/SonicTheHedgehog2 previous robotic doppelganger of Sonic]] that was deployed during Eggman's [[VideoGame/Sonic3AndKnuckles successful re-launch of the Death Egg from Angel Island]]. A strong, hardy bot capable of going Super using the Master Emerald, Mecha Sonic was thought to be long-gone after ultimately being beaten by Knuckles, but he survived, washing up on Scrapnik Island. While he's been living peacefully on the island for a long time now, the reappearance of the one true Sonic causes parts of his original programming to take over, enacting a plan to escape the island involving his organic counterpart.

* CyberCyclops: It's not made clear outside moments of extreme emotion, but Mecha has only one eye instead of a visor or a screen eye like Metal. It's most clear after the other Scrapniks foil his plans when his eye becomes the digital equivalent of bloodshot in his rage.

* EveryoneCallsHimBarkeep: Solicitations for ''Scrapnik Island'' and dialogue in the comic itself only refer to him as "Mecha Sonic", excluding the "Mk. II" designation introduced in the ''Sonic the Hedgehog Encyclo-speed-ia'' to further distinguish him from his predecessor from ''VideoGame/SonicTheHedgehog2'', who's also named Mecha Sonic. That's not to say it's been forgotten though, as the mini-series' creative team generally refer to him as "Mk. II" when discussing the book online.

* FightingFromTheInside: Seeing Sonic again after so many years causes his old programming to kill Sonic to resurface. The end of Issue #1 shows that Mecha can fight it off, with Issue #2 having him battle Eggman's influence, which inevitably causes him to attack Sonic by the end of it. It takes until Issue #4 for Mecha Sonic to be free of Eggman's influence.

* GrandTheftMe: His ultimate goal with capturing Sonic is to use both the Egg Noggin and the Miles Electric to download his mind into Sonic's body. Due to Sonic's organic body and natural speed, he would be able to cross the oceans and exact his revenge on Eggman for abandoning him. His attempt fails due to the other Scrapniks, but leaves Sonic with a temporary PsychicLink to him.
* HeelFaceTurn: After settling into Scrapnik Island, Mecha Sonic has turned over a new leaf. This is shown in Issue #1 when he tries to catch Sonic but doesn't try to ''attack'' him. However, seeing his fleshy counterpart again causes his old programming to act up, urging him to enact his evil goals. Sonic manages to snap him back to his senses, with Tails being able to successfully remove Eggman's old programming after their confrontation.

* MyGodWhatHaveIDone: A silent example, but after Sonic kicks him in the head during their fight in Issue #4, he flashes back to himself happily co-existing with the other Scrapniks, one of whom is one he'd nearly ''murdered'' just minutes before in the present. Realizing what he'd done causes him to conclude that he'd failed both Eggman ''and'' Sigma's directives, pushing him past the DespairEventHorizon.
* PsychicLink: Because of his brain download with Sonic being cut short, the two still retain their individual consciences, but are now capable of reading each others' minds and feeling each others' emotions. When Mecha is reaccepted by the Scrapniks, Sonic starts crying TearsOfJoy, and states that this is Mecha's doing; not his.

* RobotMe: Similar to his "brother" Metal Sonic, Mecha Sonic is a robot clone of Sonic.

* SuddenlySpeaking: In the first two issues of ''Scrapnik Island'', he's completely voiceless, just like Metal Sonic. In Issue #3, however, he starts speaking full sentences out of nowhere, both through his own programming and through hijacking Tails' Miles Electric.

A robotic doppelganger of Knuckles deployed to Angel Island as part of Eggman's scheme from ''VideoGame/{{Sonic Advance|Trilogy}}''. His off-color disguise wasn't enough to fool Sonic and his friends, and he was ultimately beaten and assumed destroyed. This didn't turn out to be the case as he now lives among the Scrapniks as the island's protector.
