* AbusiveParents: While not outright abusive, he made a lot of very questionable decisions to prepare Knuckles for his role at Guardian, even by his Brotherhood's traditional standards. He blasted Knuckles' egg with Chaos energy to turn him into a living Chaos Emerald, pushed his wife out of Knuckles' life, reared Knuckles alone in the wilderness with brutal survivalist training, gaslighted Knuckles by convincing him that they were the last survivors of their race, and abandoned Knuckles at the age of 10 by faking his own death, spying on Knuckles until their eventual reunion. After the events of Return to Angel Island arc, he effectively disowns Knuckles and tries to blackmail him by threatening his mother's safety so he can help rescue the other Guardians. Under Ian's pen, he slowly begins to redeem himself.
* AllForNothing: Locke experimenting on Knuckles from birth and forcefully railroading him into life of a guardian was all triggered by him having what he believed to a [[DreamingOfThingsToCome a precognitive nightmare]] of Knuckles fighting a foe of unimaginable might. The foe in question either never emerged or [[spoiler:[[ProphecyTwist turned out to be Knuckles himself]]]] and Locke became increasingly hated by Knuckles and his friends for what he had done.
* BreakThemByTalking: In ''Enerjak Reborn'' Julie Su and Archimedes call Locke out on his seeming hatred for Knuckles. When he tries to explain that he doesn't hate Knuckles but can't ignore the danger he's become, Archimedes flat out tells him that Knuckles has become ''exactly'' what they were making him into with their training and Locke's experiments, and the real blame for all this lies with them. Julie Su and Archimedes leave to go Sonic and "the guardian we love enough to rescue" while Locke stews over what he's done.
* DependingOnTheWriter: Though many characters were affected by the change in writers having different directions for them, Locke's was pretty distinct. Though a lot of Locke's fundamental traits were the same, the way he approached his duties and Knuckles took on a harsher tone when Flynn took over from Penders. Locke's OmniscientMoralityLicense was criticized much more and gave him an almost antagonistic position to Knuckles and the heroes.

* ItsAllAboutMe: A rare case of someone being this and yet not realizing it. Locke is portrayed with a near single-minded obsession with the Brotherhood of Guardians, considering them and their stewardship of Angel Island to take priority over ''literally anything else'', often downplaying or flat out dismissing the threat that [[EvilOverlord Eggman]] poses. This also extends to his relationship with Knuckles, often being extremely controlling and adopting a "for his own good" style of parenting for Knuckles. Whether this was treated as a good or a bad thing depended entirely on who was in the lead writer seat. This finally came to a head when Julie Su and Archimedes [[WhatTheHellHero called him out]] in ''Enerjak Reborn'' causing him to realize just what his obsession and authoritarian parenting did to his son, leading to his HeroicSacrifice.
* KilledOffForReal: Died of cancer in the Light Mobius timeline, a result of his earlier genetic experiments. In the regular timeline, he sacrificed himself to break Knuckles' transformation into Enerjak and restore his son to normal.
* LaserGuidedKarma: He ignored Robotnik along with the Brotherhood, as mentioned in their entry. His experiments on Knuckles gave him the potential to gain incredible power. Said potential made Knuckles a target for Dr. Finitevus' "Enerjak Reborn" project, which Locke eventually died to save Knuckles from.
* LastWords: He speaks his last through TearsOfRemorse, seemingly begging some higher power to allow him to correct his mistakes.

This power would later be targeted by Mammoth Mogul, causing a chain of events that led to Knuckles essentially dying, Mammoth Mogul nearly destroying the multiverse, which was stopped by Tails gaining his Titan form. Knuckles came back to life, but exhausted his Chaos powers.
** And as a result of Locke's experiments on his son, Finitevus was warped and twisted by Chaos Energy when he attempted to siphon away said energy from Chaos Knuckles, thanks to outside interference by Charmy and Saffron. Locke was indirectly responsible for Finitevus' rise as a villain, the destruction of Albion and the exiling of the Brotherhood of Guardians.
** Dr. Finitevus convinced him to leave Angel Island under his protection to search for his ancestors, kicking off a series of events that led to the doctor brainwashing Knuckles into becoming the new Enerjak and Locke sacrificing his life to free him.
* OffingTheOffspring: When Knuckles was tricked into becoming the new Enerjak, Locke thought it would be a good idea to kill him in order to save him. Luckily, Sonic and the others put a stop to this plan, though it left him to sacrifice himself as a Plan B.

He helped him defeat Dimitri/Enerjak during their first encounter, albeit from behind the scenes, and later sacrificed his own life to save Knuckles from becoming Enerjak himself. Many years prior, he and the Brotherhood of Guardians threw Monk the Gorilla, who was bullying Knuckles, off of Angel Island.

Even after that, it's clear that he sees Knuckles as the Guardian foremost and his son second. He effectively cut ties with Knuckles after he chose to take the fight to Eggman instead of guarding Angel Island and threatens his mother's safety. Locke realizes the errors of his ways during the Enerjak Reborn arc and comes to realize how serious the mistakes he's made are and how badly they've ruined Knuckles' life.
* PutOnABus: Gone after the Penders lawsuit. Even if Penders hadn't created him, being the father of Knuckles (a Sega character) might still have gotten him booted from the reboot continuity.
* RedemptionEqualsDeath: By the end of ''Enerjak Reborn'', Locke realizes his attempt to groom Knuckles into a force to counter Enerjak did more harm than good and made the present guardian the very monster his Brotherhood was suppose to beat. He undid Finitevus's curse controlling Knux and turned him back to normal at the cost of his life.

A collection of Knuckles' ancestors, including his father Locke and several other ancestors, that protect Angel Island and the city of Echindnaopolis. For most of the book, they chose not to interfere with world events more than they had to, feeling that deploying their advanced technology in an unprepared world would be more harmful than good, allowing Robotnik to operate freely. Eventually, Eggman would advance his own technology enough that, with some assistance from the Dingoes, he eventually stormed and razed Echindnaopolis, slaughtering most of the population. After a final, taxing battle with Eggman's forces, the exhausted Brotherhood was captured by Dr. Finitevus.

* EpicFail: Not realizing that the guy who's capable of building giant flying battle stations and apocalyptic doomsday weapons with the intent of enslaving the world and turning it into a lifeless husk, nor his alternate universe counterpart who is even ''more'' vicious, is someone that they should deal with.
* FantasticRacism: They were echidna supremacists and considered the dingos violent savages. As a whole, they considered the other races to be lesser beings.
* FatalFlaw: Their over-reliance on guardian traditions. If they weren't so determined to not get involved in matters outside of their own, they might've been integral in defeating Robotnik. This in turn would've kept the Dingoes and the Dark Legion at bay, which would also have prevented both Chaos Knuckles and Dr. Finitevus.
* {{Hypocrite}}: It's been pointed out that, despite espousing that echidna society should refrain from excess technology, they kept the most advanced equipment to themselves.
* LaserGuidedKarma: As stated, they ignored Robotnik until it was too late; the Ultimate Annihilator helped free the Dark Legion, whose antics resulted in Chaos Knuckles and, indirectly, Dr. Finitevus. Also, their treatment of the Dingoes meant that they JumpedAtTheCall to work with Eggman to get revenge. In the end, battling Eggman's forces to protect the Master Emerald left them exhausted enough to be captured by Dr. Finitevus.
* LockedOutOfTheLoop: Standard procedure for Guardian training, it started when a past Guardian's son committed a HeroicSacrifice to stop the Dark Legion many years ago. The practice was designed to help the current Guardian-in-training become self-reliant. However, the Guardian-in-training is kept under constant surveillance by the Brotherhood in case of problems they couldn't handle.
* NiceJobBreakingItHero: By allowing Robotnik-Prime to run free, the following happened:
** He created [[http://archiesonic.wikia.com/wiki/E.V.E.#Battles_with_Sonic EVE]], who went on to destroy many inhabited worlds across the galaxy before being stopped by Sonic.
** He fired the Ultimate Annihilator, which led to the Dark Legion being released and everything that happened as a result, like Chaos Knuckles and Dr. Finitevus.
*** The UA's firing tipped Robo-Robotnik off that Robotnik-Prime had died, providing a reason to go to Mobius. Robo-Robotnik would become Dr. Eggman and we know how that turned out.
** Heck before the reboot, practically every bad thing could be traced back them in some fashion and a good chuck of the planet's populace are not fans of them due to their indifference and handling of matters.
* PutOnABus: They were cast into the Twilight Cage (bar Knuckles and Locke) along with Moritori Rex by Dr. Finitevus; not returning due to legal matters.
* ReedRichardsIsUseless: Despite all their resources, they never did a thing to stop Dr. Robotnik, even when he was clearly a threat to them. It was suggested by some of their allies that they ''should'' help their fellow Mobians and help usher in a golden age for the world, but this never happened either. In fact, Sally asked for their help in fighting Dr. Eggman, but they would only do so if she agreed to the use of their most advanced weapons, implied to be nuclear weapons. Since she couldn't agree to that, they turned her down. Deconstructed because by letting Eggman go for so long, he ended up closing the tech gap enough to attack them directly and wiped out much of the echidna population.
* SuicidalOverconfidence: Robotnik Prime had, before Endgame, discovered their island, weaponized it, endangered it indirectly several times, and tried to ram the island into the sea with the first Death Egg. They didn't do anything to stop him, thinking he wasn't a threat to them, taking the same approach with Eggman (who admitted to nuking his own Mobius into oblivion). They also felt that their traditions would see them through, even though they had indication enough that they wouldn't be dealing with just the usual threats like before. To say this backfired is an understatement.
* WouldHarmAChild: They once threw Monk the Gorilla, who was bullying Knuckles, off of Angel Island. Even though they likely had enough options to dispose of him more humanely.

* PutOnABus: Gone after the Penders lawsuit; actually a Micheal Gallagher creation. However being the grandfather of Knuckles (a Sega character) might still have gotten him booted from the reboot continuity.
* ReasonableAuthorityFigure: Unlike the rest of the Guardians, he's more than willing to work outside of the guardians traditions, seeing a much bigger picture than simply Angel Island. He's also willing to aid those outside of echidnas and Guardians interest. Its safe to say that he set the first steps for Knuckles CharacterDevelopment in later books. Among other things, he;
** Healed Tails, preparing him for his final battle against Crocbot, and gave him information towards his destiny as TheChosenOne. Much later, he gave Tails and Knuckles advice leading to the sword of acorn.
** Led the lost echidna tribe, guiding them for years until they reached Albion.

!!!Light Mobius
Alternate future versions of Mobius ten years later. Light as you can imagine is the somewhat good version where civilization still stands albeit just ruled under the tyrannical grip of King Shadow [[spoiler: least till Sonic returns]].

[[folder: Lara-Su]]
[[quoteright:229:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/Lara-Su_4470.png]]

The future daughter of Knuckles and Julie-Su seen in the "Mobius: 25/30 Years Later" storyline [[note]]Known as "Light Mobius"[[/note]].

Confusingly, due to some very convoluted TimeTravel plotlines there have been two (or depending on how you count, three) distinct versions of Lara-Su shown in the comic: one affected by time travel, and the other a time traveler herself. For tropes pretaining to her Dark Mobius counterpart, see "Jani-Ca".

She is the second, and better known, version of Lara-Su appears in the "Mobius [X] Years Later" storylines as a would-be successor to her father as the Guardian of the Master Emerald. Initially [[OverprotectiveDad Knuckles resisted letting her take the job]], but ultimately relented. Her reality was re-written due to King Sonic's own tampering with the timeline, but this worked out mostly to her advantage as one of the major changes was that Knuckles allowed her to train as a Guardian much earlier and ascend as a full-blooded ActionGirl.

Both versions of Lara are feisty and hot-tempered, much like her parents, and both ultimately became full-blooded {{Action Girl}}s. However Lara-Su of the "Mobius [X] Years Later" arc seems more peppy and cheerful. As a Guardian, she possesses all of Knuckles' abilities, including {{flight}} and Chaos Control.

----
* BadassAdorable: Both of them.
* BigDamnHeroes: Saving their own father no less. They spin dash right though Tikhaos just as it knocks Sonic back with a energy blast and was about to finish him off.
* ChildishToothGap: Light Mobius Manik has a gap in his teeth.

* RoyalsWhoActuallyDoSomething: They get it from their mother.
* RetGone: Actually happened to them ''twice''. Besides the Genesis Wave business, their first teenaged incarnations ceased to exist due to the time rewrite.
* StrongFamilyResemblance: They basically look like minirature version of their parents, except Manik has his mother's blue eyes, where Sonia has her father's green eyes.
* SuperSpeed: They get it from their father. Before the time rewrite, only Manik inherited it though.

[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/3de131a9f99caa961fa54811a11ae3d7.jpg]]

In the Light Mobius timeline, after Sonic vanished following Dr. Eggman's demise, Shadow rose to power and conquered all of Mobius in one year. He brought his own version of unity and peace to Mobius through brutal law enforcement, with the Dark Presence (formally the Dark Legion) as his enforcers. Sally Acorn married him in an attempt to bring some stability and leniency to his brutal leadership, with very little success.

Things only got worse over the following two decades, as due to his Chaos abilities, Shadow was fully aware of the original timeline, and was determined to keep anyone with lingering memories from trying to restore it. Arresting individuals such as Rotor, Sonic, Tails, and Lara-Su for "treason". His brutal rule came to an end thanks to the efforts of Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and Lara-Su, who used Chaos Control to place him in suspended animation.

However, five years later, the Dark Presence successfully invaded Castle Mobius and revived the former king from his imprisonment, enraged, Shadow proceeded released Tikhaos upon the world as revenge. While Tikhaos was stopped by the Future Freedom Fighters, what became of Shadow is unknown.
----
* AdaptationalVillainy: {{Downplayed}} Shadow started as a villain as per his story arc in VideoGame/SonicAdventure2, and then settled on being a hero. In this continuity however, Shadow comes to the conclusion that the only way to achieve Maria's wish is for him to become the ruler of Mobius.
* AntiVillain: Rules Mobius with an iron fist and his subjects are clearly miserable under his regime, but as noted below, Shadow's rule served as a deterrent to other would be villains to takeover, and he still operates under the belief that this is the only way he can fulfill Maria's wish of a better planet.
* BigBad: Acts as this for the ''[[TwentyMinutesIntoTheFuture X Years Later]]'' stories.
* CurbStompBattle: When Sonic fights him in this timeline, Shadow easily smacks him around, as Sonic had aged and gotten weaker while Shadow, being [[{{Immortality}} immortal]], did not. Ironically when Lara-Su took over the battle, she proved to be more then a match for him, beating him in a battle of Chaos Control.
* EvenEvilHasLovedOnes: As with the normal Shadow, he loved Maria, and as King he seemingly deified her. A large angelic statue of her is seen being worshiped, and characters swear by her as they would a religious figure.
* KickTheSonOfABitch: He betrays Lien-Da at the first opportunity, but given it's Lien-Da...
* PutOnABus: Gone after the Penders lawsuit; actually an Ian Flynn creation.
* RepressiveButEfficient: It's noted that while Shadow's regime was brutal, it still brought peace and stability to all of Mobius.
-->'''Knuckles''': Things may have been bad under King Shadow, but at least he knew how to keep the warmongers in line.
* WellIntentionedExtremist: Shadow took over the world in order to [[UtopiaJustifiesTheMeans bring peace to it.]] After being sealed away for five years thanks to Lara-Su, he unleashes Tikhaos and super-charges her with Chaos Energy to destroy the world, so the survivors would once again accept King Shadow's rule.
* WhatHappenedToTheMouse: After he release Tikhaos, he just sorta disappears from the story and isn't seen again. Most likely this was meant as a SequelHook for a future "X Years" issue. But the lawsuit nixed those plans.

* InterspeciesRomance: In both timelines, Rutan has a relationship with a Chameleon named Salma (Espio's daughter). Although their relationship has become somewhat rocky in the altered timeline.
* MissingMom: After King Shadow was dethroned, Lien-Da went into hiding, leaving Rutan under the care of his ancestor Dimitri.
* MoralityChain: To Lien-Da, though not enough to keep her from leaving.

[[caption-width-right:350:As Enerjak]]

The future daughter of Knuckles and Julie-Su seen in the "Fractured Mirror" arc of ''Sonic Universe''[[note]]Known as "Dark Mobius"[[/note]].

Confusingly, due to some very convoluted TimeTravel plotlines there have been two (or depending on how you count, three) distinct versions of Lara-Su shown in the comic: one affected by time travel, and the other a time traveler herself. For tropes pretaining to her Light Mobius counterpart, see "Lara-Su".

Tecnically the first version of Lara-Su shown in the comic. She had gone back in time attempting to SetRightWhatOnceWentWrong by rescuing her father from an assassination attempt that had led to her growing up in a a BadFuture, only to find that Knuckles had never died and in fact had been the ''cause'' of the BadFuture. This instance of Lara's personality introduced herself as "Jani-Ca" and was dropped from the comic after her introduction, not getting a full resolution to her plotline until the "Fractured Mirror" storyline in ''Sonic Universe'', where she is shown as the battle-hardened leader of the last remaining Freedom Fighters.

Both versions of Lara are feisty and hot-tempered, much like her parents, and both ultimately became full-blooded {{Action Girl}}s. However Jani-Ca's personality became noticeably more brittle and jaded as a result of having grown up in a BadFuture ruled over by [[ArchnemesisDad her own father]] as the BigBad,
----
* ActionGirl: She is forced to continually contend with the likes of [[PhysicalGod Enerjak]].
* ArchnemesisDad: Dark Enerjak is this for Jani-Ca.
* BerserkButton: Do ''not'' call her Lara-Su. Don't even ''say'' it. Silver nearly got the business end of the Sword of Acorns because of this.
* CoolSword: She wields the Sword of Acorns. [[spoiler:After she uses it to absorb Enerjak's energy, however, she shatters it.]]
* DidntSeeThatComing: She'd only intended to depower her father. Actually gaining his powers hadn't been part of the plan, and she was as surprised as anyone when it happens.
* FutureBadass: While her Light Mobius counterpart is a spirited ActionGirl, Jani-Ca is [[DarkerAndEdgier gritty and tough-as-nails]] to the point she makes her counterpart seem like a GranolaGirl in comparison. This was {{lampshaded}} in an Off-Panel strip.
* KidFromTheFuture: At one point, she travels back to the past, giving her name as "Jani-Ca." She later takes on that alias back in her own time.
* RedeemingReplacement: [[spoiler:As Enerjak, she's determined to do good with the power she's got, and hopefully avoid going completely insane.]]
* SetRightWhatOnceWentWrong: She tries, but not being informed as to what needed fixing in the first place, she doesn't do so hot. [[FailureHero Silver]] relates to this frustration very well.
* UnPerson: According to Ken Penders of all the characters removed, she is one of the three who are truly banned from appearing in the comic.
* WomenAreWiser: Unlike Dimitri and Knuckles, Jani-Ca retained her sane state of mind after transforming into Enerjak, and is implied to be smart enough to dispose of her powers after she briefly utilizes them, solely for ([[KnightTemplar genuinely]]) benevolent purposes.

----
* AlternateSelf: All of the Dark Freedom Fighters are this:
** Jani-Ca: Lara-Su
** Cutlass Depardieu: Antoine D'Coolette
** Scarlette Rabbot: Bunnie Rabbot
** Dagger Walrus: Rotor Walrus
** Payback Fox: Fiona Fox
** Demo Duck: Bean the Dynamite
** Blockbuster Polar Bear: Bark the Polar Bear
* TheBerserker: Demo Duck. Once he goes nuts, there's no stopping him.
* EyepatchAfterTimeSkip: Demo's missing an eye.
* GoodCounterpart: Payback Fox, Demo Duck, and Blockbuster Polar Bear are this to Fiona, Bean, and Bark respectively.
* OfficialCouple: Demo and Scarlette.
* OOCIsSeriousBusiness: Bark the Polar Bear never utters a word, so it's a sign of just how serious things are that Blockbuster speaks.
* PutOnABus: thanks to the Penders Lawsuit, there's no hope for their return due to how closely tied they are to Jani-Ca.
* RedShirtArmy: Pretty much, they can deal with Prelates well enough but against Dark Enerjak they go down like dominoes.
* WalkingShirtlessScene: Cutlass wears no shirt, showing off his torso covered in scars.
* YourSoulIsMine: Every member excluding Jani-Ca ends up on the receiving end of this the moment Dark Enerjak gets serious.

[[caption-width-right:350:De-powered]]

A version of Knuckles from Dark Mobius who went mad with power after becoming Enerjak.
----
* AGodAmI: Naturally, as Enerjak.
* TheAtoner: In the now deleted Dark Mobius epilogue that was featured on Archie Comics' defunct blog, the de-powered Knuckles choses to help Jani-Ca reverse what he had done to the world by teaching her how to use her Enerjak powers. However given his numerous requests to have some of his power returned, it's dubious as to how much of this is genuine.
* BigNo: [[spoiler:When the Sword of Acorns is smashed by Jani-Ca, preventing Knuckles from ever taking back Enerjak's power.]]
* TheCameo: His armor can be seen in the No Zone Jail during "Scourge: Lockdown".
* TheDreaded: This version has gone so insane with power that nobody on the planet wants him around, and none of them can still do anything to stop him regardless.
* EvilCounterpart: To Knuckles, much more than his Moebius Counterpart; most notably to Knuckles' time as Enerjak. When Prime Knuckles became Enerjak he was mind-controlled but still his Enerjak almost had a nobility to him as he tried to save his people and the Dark Legion (for better or worse). Dark Knuckles has a selfishness to his beliefs and the future he wants to form is born from that self righteous desire rather than Prime Knuckles Enerjak's warped but genuine one.
* EvilIsPetty: His minions are the twisted remains of his former friends, their souls yanked out and turned into mindless husks. He could've thrown ''anyone'' at the resistance, but he chooses the Freedom Fighters and Chaotix specifically.
* EvilOldFolks: A now elderly Knuckles. Without the power of Enerjak, he's reduced to a shriveled old man.
* TheJuggernaut: While this trope could be applied to the Proime version as well, this incarnation fits it the best. He turned evil and alienated anybody who was on his side, but even with that nothing on his planet for decades could stop him. In his fight with Silver, he [[NoSell No Sells]] everything thrown at him, with the best Silver can do is make him mad. [[spoiler: He's only stopped by his own daughter using the Sword of Acrons to drain his power.]]
* HeroKiller: This incarnation had already beaten every hero and villain from the main stories (including Super Sonic), the Freedom Fighters in that timeline were only still alive because he was bored and let them live for his amusement.
* HoistByHisOwnPetard: Silver realizes Dark Knuckles has been all powerful because all his adversaries have been trying to match their power against his which he can easily counter against. So Silver uses Dark Knuckles' own power against him which sure enough damages him.
* KickTheDog: [[spoiler: He forces Jani-Ca to fight the Prelate of her own mother Juli-Su, even telling her he'd been ''saving'' her for such an occasion.]]
* KickTheSonOfABitch: Among his victims shown front and center in his collection were villains such as Dr. Eggman, Snively, Nack, Predator Hawk, Lien-Da, Ixis Naugus, and Dr. Finitevus.
* KnightTemplar: ''Much'' less of a WellIntentionedExtremist than his Prime Counterpart.
* MoodSwinger: At one point, the resistance mentions sometimes he'll just... stop whatever he's doing and hover ominously in the same spot for days at a time.
* NiceJobFixingItVillain: Had he been content with taking over his Mobius, his rule would have been forever unopposed. However his lust for more worlds to conquer led to one of his Prelates leading Silver back to Dark Mobius, this bites him in the ass ''HARD''.
* OffscreenKarma: His armor is shown in the No Zone Jail during "Scourge: Lockdown", heavily implying that the Zone Cops apprehended him sometime after his defeat. Given the fact that he was sending his Prelates across dimensions to expand his Empire, it's not surprising.
* PhysicalGod: This version is in fact Chaos Knuckles with ''full mastery of his powers''.
* PutOnABus: Gone after the Penders lawsuit.
* PutOnABusToHell: Possibly, in "Scourge: Lockdown" his armor can be seen in the No Zone Jail. This implies the he was captured sometime after Silver defeated him.
* SmugSnake: Dark Enerjak is even more smug than the original version since he's had the entire planet to torment for decades with nothing to stop him.
* UnskilledButStrong: When Silver fights this incarnation, he matches him blow-for-blow in terms of raw power, and when he starts using strategy in conjunction, Enerjak can't adapt and ultimately loses.
* VillainKiller: Among his [[https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-SxzCOaPDL9o/WzcMtsjUVvI/AAAAAAAAYM0/Cqw146RJp1cqumu43EdBLewA3KzzsE32gCLcBGAs/s1600/Su25-4.jpg victims]] were Dr. Eggman, Snively, Nack, Predator Hawk, Lien-Da, Ixis Naugus, and Dr. Finitevus.

Their handling of roboticization is a major one. Their actions on Biotex where the population was de-roboticized was one that the government took issue with as it resulted in mass death. However when they examined Mobius and saw the superiority of Robians they decided that the population should be roboticized. * SmallRoleBigImpact: Ceneca-9009 was only in a few issues, but it was she who saved Tails's parents, turned Eggman and Snively back into organics, and de-roboticized almost all of the Mobians.
* UnwillingRoboticisation: Inverted. Ceneca-9009's studies are to deroboticize organic creatures, but unfortunately she's done it to many against their will, to disastrous consequences. She's also demonstrated the know how to roboticize organics, having done it to Sonic and the Freedom Fighters once.

* ScrewTheRulesImDoingWhatsRight: When her higher-ups gave her the order to roboticize all of Mobius, following an experiment months before, she defied it and turned them all back (save for the injured Jules), knowing full well of the consequences. Sonic broke her out of prison because of that and saving Tails' parents years ago.

Dark Knuckles has a selfishness to his beliefs and the future he wants to form is born from that self righteous desire rather than Prime Knuckles Enerjak's warped but genuine one.

Whether this was treated a good or a bad thing depended entirely on who was in the lead writer seat. This finally came to a head when Julie Su and Archimedes [[WhatTheHellHero called him out]] in ''Enerjak Reborn'' causing him to realize just what his obsession and authoritarian parenting did to his son, leading to his HeroicSacrifice.
