When the Boots item existed, he could not purchase it from the store as a result.

The All-Father, King of the Gods of Asgard and the father of Thor, Odin and his raven lieutenants are always on the search for more wisdom, which has led him to do things like hang from Yggdrasil, the World Tree, for weeks with no food, and even trade his left eye for a sip of the waters of knowledge. On the field of battle, he wields his mighty spear Gungnir and runic magic to crush his enemies and fight for Asgard and the Nine Realms.

A noble and fearless war god who sacrificed his hand in order to bind the wolf Fenrir, though this did not hinder his prowess in battle. As he is also a god of justice and honor, he takes to the Battleground of the Gods to fight for righteousness and humanity.

A serpent so large he encircles the entire world and bites his own tail, and is fated to kill Thor during Ragnarok, which he hopes to incite during the war between gods.

A primordial Frost Giant who emerged from the melting ice of Nifilheim and Muspellheilm, and the ancestor to all ''jotun''. He was killed and sliced to pieces by Odin and his brothers, and the pieces of his body formed the realm of Midgard (aka Earth).

A love and fertility goddess and queen of the Valkyries, the female soldiers who usher the honored dead to Valhalla, Freya rides into battle on a chariot pulled by cats to claim half of those fallen for her hall of Folkvagnr. She is also the goddess of magic and witches.

The daughter of Loki and ruler of Helheim, the realm of the dead for those who did not fall in battle. She has two sides, Light and Dark, that she cycles between in battle.

One of the children of Loki, Fenrir is the dreaded wolf fated to kill Odin and was bound by Tyr at the cost of his hand, though Fenrir's escape is foretold to signal the beginning of Ragnarok.

The shafeshifting God of Mischief and blood brother of Odin, Loki was adopted as one of the Aesir but is by birth a jotun: a frost giant. Notorious for his trickery, most infamously his role in the death of Baldr, Loki is also the father of many gods and monsters, including Hel, Fenrir, and Jormangondr. For his misdeeds, he was bound in a cave underneath a serpent who secretes toxic venom onto his face until he is fated to break free during Ragnarok.

A squirrel who scurries about the World Tree Yggdrassil, carrying insulting messages between two ancient rival beings: Nidhogg, the primeval dragon who resides beneath the Tree and gnaws at its roots, and Hraesvelgr, the giant eagle who lives atop it.

The son of Odin and the mightiest warrior in all of Asgard, Thor is the God of Thunder, which comes from the sound of striking a foe with his mighty hammer Mjolnir. As the champion and protector of humanity, Thor takes to the Battleground of the Gods to defend the Nine Realms from destruction.

The all-seeing watchman of the Aesir, perpetually guarding the Bifrost, the rainbow bridge of Asgard, from any threats, though he is not above leaving his post when it becomes necessary, such as when a war between pantheons is brewing.

A giantess and the goddess of winter and hunting who married into the Aesir to Njord, god of summer and the sea and father to the twin gods Freyr and Freya, in order to get revenge on Loki for murdering her father Idunn.

A mighty hunter, son of the goddess Sif and stepson of Thor.

* EyepatchOfPower: Odin has only one eye as is told of him, with the missing eye covered.

* RatedMForManly: Despite his travels for wisdom, Odin's gameplay in Smite goes for a more direct approach - summon a shield of ravens, jump-attack onto an enemy, SpinAttack to slow the survivors or outright trap and debuff them with the ring of spears.

* TheStoic: Odin is one of the few Gods that has very limited speech bank, due to being one of the first Gods included and has a very lacking voice update, he didn't say anything when buying things or approaching low health and his speeches were either battle cries or grunts. This trope is only played straight in [=SMITE=] due to Hel undergoing AdaptationalAttractiveness, in Norse mythology, it is instead inverted, as Hel is described there as having half her body alive while the other half is dead and corpse-like.

* WolverinePublicity: Thor is usually in the forefront of Smite's teasers and trailers, as he's not only a starter god, but also one of the easier gods to use, and remains powerful in the competitive scene. It also helps that he (the deity) has a lot more publicity beyond Smite (mainly thanks to [[Comicbook/TheMightyThor Marvel Comics]]).

* CoolHelmet: One with absolutely huge ram horns.

* NiceJobBreakingItHero: While Heim wasn't in a position to just let Persephone [[spoiler: use Yggdrasil to depower the gods]], the results of the latter being interrupted directly led into the events of Jade Corruption and Grim Omen, including Cthulhu being released.

Most, however, say that their biological mother was Niord's unnamed sister with Skadi only being their stepmother. Since BrotherSisterIncest doesn't fly in a T-rated game, the version that says Skadi was their mother was chosen.
