* InvincibleVillain: [[spoiler: Once he's broken free from his prison]], he demonstrates that he's not someone to be trifled with as Randy still couldn't overpower him and had to resort to trickery to win.

* AncientEvil: He's been around for eight centuries and hopes to break free from his prison to spread his chaos like he did back in 1213.

* FinalBoss: Defeating him serves as the series finale, though that is due in part to the series being ScrewedByTheNetwork.

* BodySnatcher: [[spoiler:"Julian's Birthday Surprise" reveals that the body of the Sorcerer is not his own, but a merchant from the 13th Century that found one of the Chaos Orbs in a lake. The Sorcerer took over the Merchant's body, while the "Merchant" is trapped in the orbs original resting place.]]

* TheDreaded: Despite being imprisoned, everyone who knows that he exists is genuinely terrified of him, for very good reasons.
* EnemyMine: [[spoiler: In the season 2 finale, Randy purposefully frees him so he'll be able to combat Mirror Julian and reclaim his power. Course naturally once they beat him, [[ChronicBackstabbingDisorder he quickly turns on Randy]].]]

* EvilIsPetty: Used his powers in an attempt to destroy the Golden Doctor's Note on a whim. [[SubvertedTrope Subverted]] because there's an implication that it might have made those questing for it vulnerable to stanking.

* EvilSorcerer: He's an 800 year old version of this.

* FourIsDeath: Before he was trapped by the Ninja, four of his prayer beads were lost in the scuffle and flew off to parts unknown.
* FromNobodyToNightmare: Originally a nameless Peddler, he happened upon the Chaos Pearls and became corrupted by their power, which led to the creation of the Sorcerer, who would go on to become Norrisville's greatest menace and the Ninja's greatest enemy.
* FusionDance: [[spoiler: His threat is finally ended when the merchant he traded places with is freed from the Land of Shadows and they merge together before the man [[AscendToAHigherPlaneOfExistence disappears, but not before thanking Randy for freeing him]].]]

* LeanAndMean: He is really skinny and the main antagonist.

* NotSoHarmless: By the time the series starts, he's actually stronger than he was before he was imprisoned.

* {{Sadist}}: While chaos makes him more powerful, its undoubtable, a large part of him enjoys hurting people. The sheer look of glee on his face, when he tries to crush the Ninja or when he's destroying present day Norisvile is proof enough.
* SatanicArchetype: An ancient evil trapped in prison underground, the Sorcerer tempts people to spread chaos through preying on their weaknesses and resentments. His schemes turn people into monsters (literally) as part of his plan to break free and cause destruction.

* SoftSpokenSadist: Though he will raise his voice when he gets angry, normally the Sorcerer talks in a calm tone with his refined voice, even when he's attempting to transform people into monsters or commit murder.
* SorcerousOverlord: His intention is to become this, and he certainly has the power to pull it off.

* YouHaveFailedMe: Threatens to call off the deal with [=McFist=] if he continues to fail.

* DiabolusExMachina: The Sorcerer tends to ''be'' the Diabolus in question in most of his appearances. If a student or adult finds themselves at an emotional low point, [[NiceJobBreakingItHero often a result of Randy or Howard's actions]], the Sorcerer usually picks up on it and seizes the opportunity to Stank them, even if the Sorcerer had no connection to the episode's plot until that point. It's justified, since the Sorcerer's imprisonment prevents him from directly causing conflict, so he has to settle for making bad situations worse in his favor.
