The Huanyue, Hehuan and Fajing Sects were once part of the Riyue Sect -- the "original" demonic sect -- under the leadership of Cui Youwang, who's known as the grandmaster of [[TheDarkArts the demonic arts]]. However, the Riyue Sect had since split apart due to dissension with its disciples. Ever since then, the three demonic sects are constantly at odds with each other due to all three leaders sharing the same desire to reunite the sects under their own rule.

** Speed: Yu Shengyuan is the more accomplished of the two disciples in terms of martial arts, but he still has long ways to go to be at Yan Wushi's level. The novel also described him to be quick in his movements.
* TrueCompanions: While they don't look the part at first, when it comes down to it, both Bian Yanmei and Yu Shengyan have complete loyalty and trust in their ''shizun''.
