** In his fight with Specter, the revelation of the Sith's species ([[spoiler:Togruta]]) distracted him long enough for Specter to get a devastating hit in.

* GuiltComplex: He has a massive one in regards to the attack on the Jedi Temple, which he still loathes himself for. This is despite the fact that Anakin points out that he wasn't in control of himself when that happened.

* {{Nephewism}}: Unlike canon Luke, this is rather downplayed. While Anakin ''is'' around to actually look after her, it's much safer for Owen and Beru to take care of her during her developing years on a consistent basis as he is busy working with the Rebellion.

* PlaguedByNightmares: After regaining his senses, Rex would often get them, [[PastExperienceNightmare presumably about his experience in Order 66]]. [[ObviouslyNotFine While in Part 3 he acts like they've stopped, Leia in Part 7 reveals that he's still plagued by them years later]].

* AdaptationalHeroism: As ''Precipice'''s primary [[ForWantOfANail divergence]], he never followed Mace to Palpatine's office. Because of this, he never has his final push to the Dark Side and ends up defending the Jedi Temple during the issuing of Order 66 rather than lead the attack.

* AdaptationalAngstDowngrade: He's still got a lot of terrible things in his life, but Anakin's fall to the Dark Side isn't one of them in this story. His overall personality is greatly contrasted by how he is presented in his [[Series/ObiWanKenobi live action show]], where the combination of the Republic's fall, Order 66, and Anakin's FaceHeelTurn has essentially broke him.

* AdaptationalAngstDowngrade: While he has a lot of failures that he hates himself for, it's still nowhere near close to how bad his time was as Darth Vader in both ''Legends'' and canon, where he desperately wanted to die and believed that being Vader was the punishment he deserved for his actions because it was a FateWorseThanDeath. Here, thanks to still having his friends and him raising Leia, he has more positive outlets and manages to let go of some of his self-loathing and selfishness over time.

* EvilRedhead: {{Downplayed|Trope}}. She's a redhead and a villain, but only of the TrappedInVillainy variety.

* BadassNormal: Of the main characters who are active on the field, Rex stands out for being the only non-Force Sensitive and is capable of carrying his own weight with just his Clonetrooper training and experience fighting in the GAR.

* SketchySuccessor: After a fashion, as Specter, while a decent Sith in his own right, is not and never was Palpatine's main choice as a Sith apprentice after the fallout with Maul and Dooku's death, a fact that constantly reminds him and fuels his desire to get his master's approval. When Specter gets killed, Sidious is hardly surprised by it and has already been making preparations for a new apprentice, knowing how his need for approval would get the better of him.

* SketchySuccessor: After a fashion, as Specter, while a decent Sith in his own right, is not and never was Palpatine's main choice as a Sith apprentice after the fallout with Maul and Dooku's death, a fact that constantly reminds him and fuels his desire to get his master's approval. * WellDoneSonGuy: He seeks his master's approval and will do whatever it takes to get it. It leads to him getting killed. Even well after his death, Palpatine dismisses him as useless and little more than a tool.

* MasterSwordsman: An absolute master of Form V. In his battles with Sith Lords, he often has the upper hand in swordsmanship and only ever loses his advantage either from a distraction or when his opponent uses deception and cunning against him.

* AdaptationalHeroism: Since he never followed Mace to Palpatine's office, he never has his final push to the Dark Side and ends up defending the Jedi Temple during the issuing of Order 66 rather than lead the attack.

* AFatherToHisMen: He was very close to the Clone Troopers under his command. Rex recalls times during the war when they'd all share stories of battle and goodwill amongst the troops as well as the times he'd fly into a rage to avenge his soldiers when they were slain.

* CharacterDevelopment: Throughout the story, Anakin grows to better control and reign in his aggression and self-loathing regarding his past failings. He also becomes more open to discuss and work his problems out and loses his more selfish attributes.

* FakingTheDead: To help Luke's adoption story look real, Padmé has [[SecretKeeper Sabe]] fake a body to make it look like she and Anakin had no other children, and it helps that Padmé provides some DNA samples that came from Leia.
