* HorribleJudgeOfCharacter: A [[JustifiedTrope Justified]] example since she's a Mélia from an older Rejuvenation Version, where the characters where mostly different personalitywise.

* MeaningfulName: M2. As in, the Second person to inhabit Melia's body.

* TheAce: As expected of a Pokemon protagonist, other characters quickly come to consider them a prodigy of Pokemon battling, a skill which repeatedly stops Team Xen and cements them as perhaps the group's biggest enemy. They are also implied throughout the story to be hypercompetent in general at random tasks like bowling, video games, and puzzles.

* HeterosexualLifePartners: Was this to Aero, apparently.

* BadassBookworm: He's described as "Studious and cool".

* DarkIsNotEvil: She has Dark-types and Ghost-types on her team, but she's far from evil, and all her Pokemon are named after various virtues.

* RealityWarpingIsNotAToy: She has a knack (which Venam calls a hidden ability) for finding Shiny Pokemon. Her ''entire team'' is made of shiny Pokemon. It's cool as a power, but not much use in battle. [[spoiler:Later, it's stated that the Archetype's power is effectively letting her subconciously affect the world around her by Madame X, and that her pokemon all being Shiny is a side-effect of the Archetype's power manifesting itself in her subtly. However, said power [[YourDaysAreNumbered also carries other side effects]]]]...

* WrongGenreSavvy: She is convinced that she can defeat Team Xen by herself at first, and fix all of the problems herself. While this ''might'' be possible in a mainstream Pokemon game, it's not the case here. She grows out of it.

* SeenItAll: Right after you go into Carotos Mountain, she has seen Keta desert her without warning, "Shadow Pokemon" that she never knew existed before, Team Xen inside, and the interior of the mountain, which was supposed to be filled with water, filled with lava. And when she finds a base inside it? Keep in mind that this is all ''before you leave Sheridan Village and get the second badge.''

* SignatureMon: Her Hawlucha, which was given to her as an egg by Keta. [[spoiler:Enough that when she goes to find the three springs of Aevium, it's the only pokemon she takes with her]].

* ChildhoodFriends: With Saki. Once they established that Saki preferred Steel-types and Braixen didn't want to evolve, they decided to be friends, not trainer and Pokemon.

* JerkassBall : [[JustifiedTrope Justified]] the relationship system allow the player to be either a NiceGuy or a complete {{Jerkass}} to the other character depending on your choice. They can leaving Kreiss locked up in Angie's church, not saving Amber in Valor Mountain, ignoring Reina's pleas for help and abandoning her in the Valor Mountain Crossing, pretending to try to help the captured police officer just to leave him to die anyway so they can save their own skin...or [[ArsonMurderAndJaywalking calling Venam "gross" on the Grand Express for not buying you a Soda Pop]] (something only possible if you have an only passable relashionship with her). The worst offense happens at the end of the Hidden Library questline: [[spoiler: They can watch Karrina murder Karen without interfering. If that's not bad enough, while Karrina is throwing Karen's body down a hole, they can ''push Karrina in after her''.]] Of course, this is [[{{Averted}} averted]] depending on player choices.

* ResurrectiveImmortality: Has died twice onscreen so far, and neither of the deaths has stuck. This is one of the Interceptors powers. [[spoiler: However, they later discover in Zeight that their last two deaths have consumed most of their life-hold, and if they die again then it will be permanent.]]

* VillainProtagonist: [[spoiler:The Renegade Route fully turns them into one, even making them a lot more talkative than in the Paragon Route.]]

* YouDontLookLikeYou: [[spoiler:Ana's "nostalgic" appearance is an entirely different design altogether, a seemingly unrelated girl with green hair. This turns out to be foreshadowing of who and what she is - during the "Missing Children" sidequest, you discover dozens o dormat copies of this same character in a warehouse alongsid more of the same of the Ana we're familiar with and two more character designs, all different models of android created by the Garufan.]]

* ThemeNaming: Her Pokémon are nicknamed after various virtues and positive emotions, like "Diligence" and "Hope". The except to this is her main Pokémon Hapi the Togekiss, whose name is a corruption of the word "happy" which was the only thing Melia could say when she was little.
