* AnthropomorphicPersonification: Of light and the SevenDeadlySins.

* TheMaker: She is one of three siblings, the children of Izanagi and Izanami, the gods of the multiverse. Out of her siblings, she is the TopGod of their universe, the Onmyoni universe, and its creator. Aside from Orochi and her siblings, she created all of the gods of Takama-ga-hara. She is also the one who defined the natural order of the main realm. In addition to the Onmyoji universe, she created one universe before, only to watch all of her hard work die at the flicker of Izanami's hands. She also created six {{Pocket Dimension}}s attached to the Onmyoji universe.

* TopGod: She is the leader of the gods.

* TheMaker: She is the second of the gods, and the creator of all others aside from her parents and siblings. She is also the one who defined the natural order of the main realm.

* SplitPersonalityMerge: After purifying them, Amaterasu resolves to recombine with her discarded sins to reclaim enough power to stand up to Izanami.

* EnemyWithout: They are avatars of Amaterasu's own weaknesses.

* GrandTheftMe: [[spoiler:Orochi plans to summon her influence into the world using the Seven Evil Gods as vessels in order to end the world created by Amaterasu.]]

* TheMaker: After being banished to the Six Realms, each of them shaped the world they were sealed into. Ironically enough, despite each one being a GodOfEvil themselves, their creations, whether spirit or {{Demihuman}}, only have a small affinity for the sin that created them and aren't much different from humans in nature.

* SevenDeadlySins: They are the seven weaknesses of Amaterasu, personified in seven separate avatars called the Seven Evil Gods. However, not all of them correspond to the usual sins. For example, while there is a Goddess of Envy and a Goddess of Gluttony, one of the Seven Evil Gods is the Goddess of Lies.

* SealedEvilInADuel: [[spoiler:As he was sealed, Orochi placed the land under a curse, causing TheNightThatNeverEnds. In order to counter it, Amaterasu had to transform herself into what would come to be known as the sun.]] To the bafflement of the other gods, even when the evil she was countering is released, Amaterasu remains in slumber.

* GildedCage: How Orochi described the God of Lust's condition. The God of Lust conquered the PocketDimension he was sealed into and was content never to leave or continue working with Orochi.

** Susanoo sealed six of them into the Six Realms gates, protecting the main universe but exposing the neighboring worlds to their predations.

* CoDragons: All of them except for the Goddess of Lies work under Orochi as his most powerful followers, and even the Goddess of Lies is willing to work ''with'' Orochi.

* IRejectYourReality: The God of Pride keeps insisting that he has never been defeated nor will he ever be, even after he has in fact been defeated, sealed, and is now in the process of purification.

One of Amaterasu's brothers, the moon god, and the current GodEmperor of Takama-ga-hara in her absence.

* AmbiguouslyEvil: His true intentions are unknown, but he allowed his younger brother, Susanoo, to be framed for treason, and refuses to lift a finger to save the world from Orochi. The heroes outright speculate that he's secretly working ''with'' Orochi.
* AnthropomorphicPersonification: Of the moon and fate. [[spoiler:In truth, he, or rather, she, is not the real Tsukuyomi or moon god, but the goddess of lies. Under Amaterasu's orders, she used the power of lies to become a false Tsukuyomi, to substitute for the real one that wasn't awake yet.]]
* BrokenPedestal: He was once Susabi's teacher and the one who taught him YouCantFightFate. When it becomes apparent that Tsukiyomi is not only refusing to save the world, but actively standing in the heroes' way, Susabi opposes him and tries to ScrewDestiny.
* EmergencyImpersonation: [[spoiler:''This'' Tsukuyomi is a fake. The ''real'' Tsukuyomi was destined to exist someday, but remained asleep despite Amaterasu desperately needing his power, so she had one of her avatars ''become'' him. The real Tsukuyomi is implied to be Susabi.]]
* EnemyWithout: [[spoiler:While Orochi is an evil god, he isn't the true seventh of the Seven Evil Gods, who are all avatars of Amaterasu's weaknesses. The real seventh is Tsukuyomi, and unlike the others, he was never imprisoned]].
* ExactWords: He never lies about his prophecies. He simply neglected to tell anyone that the "traitor" his prophecy spoke of is not [[spoiler:Susanoo, but himself.]]
* GodEmperor: With his older sister, Amaterasu, preoccupied with countering Orochi's TheNightThatNeverEnds, he has taken over the gods in her place.
* TheGodsMustBeLazy: In the ancient past, the gods loved the world and loved their mortal creations. When he became GodEmperor, he used his influence to make the gods stop giving a damn and start looking down on them [[HumansAreInsects like insects]].
* HaveYouSeenMyGod: With Amaterasu preoccupied, he has become GodEmperor in her stead. He has since used his position to do nothing other than seal the city of the gods off from the mortal realm, apparently indifferent to their fated destruction.
* HiddenAgendaVillain: What he really wants is unclear, but under his influence, most of the gods have stopped caring about mortals, and he stands in the way of the few that still do. [[spoiler:She isn't the real Tsukuyomi, but the Goddess of Lies, using lies to take his place since the real one would not wake till long after Amaterasu needed him. She was supposedly the only GodOfEvil to avoid their fate of spreading evil and being sealed, but that too was a lie on Amaterasu's part. So in revenge against her main self, Amaterasu, she plans to take it out on the world.]]
* LongGame: Whatever Tsukiyomi is really after, he plans in the very long term, relying on the apparent infallibility of his predictions.
* OtherMeAnnoysMe: [[spoiler:She has a deep grudge against her main self, Amaterasu, for lying about her fate in order to use her.]]
* ThePurge: [[spoiler:He mass executed all gods that witnessed Orochi's trial in order to frame his younger brother, Susanoo.]]
* {{Seers}}: He has the power to predict the future.
* SexShifter: Being a high ranking god and all, [[OtherworldlyAndSexuallyAmbiguous he pretty much transcends gender]], and as [[spoiler:an avatar of Amaterasu]], one of his forms, his original in fact, is female.
* YouCantFightFate: He was Susabi's teacher and the one who taught him that all things are predestined. [[spoiler:In fact, it's his job to enforce it. Since it is written that God Orochi will destroy the world, he is making sure that that's exactly what will happen and intends to thwart all efforts at ScrewDestiny.]]
