* TragicVillain: He slowly starts to go this path much later in the comic. [[spoiler:A rather tense moment where Alfred unknowingly triggers Hunter's dog-like behavior leads to the former threatening him, asking him if he knows where they take people like him, all the while a single panel depicts a faceless boy (possibly a younger Alfred) surrounded by mist. Taken further later in the comic when the Dalmatian family witnesses Alfred suffering a mental breakdown, and then passing out because of it.]]

The elderly head of London's Animal Control. Just after a few days of serving in London, he already gains some noticeable infamy among the animals that reside in Camden, to even being rumoured to do rather heinous things to the animals he captures (which turns out to not be the case).
----
* TheDreaded: Manipulates animals into fearing him with rumors of performing horrific acts on those he captures to coax them into obedience.
* EvenEvilHasLovedOnes: Once had a pet dog in his youth which he loved dearly.
* EvenEvilHasStandards: Despite his methods, he's much of a lesser threat than Cruella De Vil and is even horrified once he learns about her and her obsession with fur.
* GrumpyOldMan: And isn't afraid of showing it either, often donning a grouchy snarl on his face to emphasize his no-nonsense personality.
* ISeeDeadPeople: Occasionally encounters the ghost of his childhood dog.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: He may be a rude old grouch, but he knows when he's taken things too far and is much more friendlier to Hunter when he learns about his past.
* PerpetualFrowner: Is almost never seen without a serious or annoyed scowl on his face, the only time he really ever smiles is when he's scaring the living daylights out of the animals he captures.
* ScareEmStraight: His main tactic for getting the animals he captures into good behaviour.
* SpeaksFluentAnimal: Like Hunter, he is actually capable of understanding animals and is able to communicate with them.
* TheMentallyDisturbed: A few scenes imply that he suffers from a hallucinogenic mental illness that forces him to take a specific medication (which is revealed by Delilah to have been rendered illegal years ago).
* TookALevelInKindness: After being treated by the Dalmatian family after suffering a hallucinogenic blackout, he decides to bury the hatchet with them. He's even a lot more nicer to Hunter when the latter explains his involvement with the aforementioned family to him.

Alfred's late childhood dog. She is seen over the course of the comic as a ghostly black silhouette, haunting and chastising Alfred for what he's become.
----
* DarkIsNotEvil: The worst she does is haunt Alfred and chastise him for growing into an animal tormenting old man.
* GhostlyAnimals: Appears as one due to her being a pet from Alfred's childhood.
* MaybeMagicMaybeMundane: It's not yet confirmed whether she really is appearing to Alfred or if her encounters are just hallucinations the latter is suffering from.
* RidiculouslyCuteCritter: As a puppy. Is it really any wonder why Alfred desired to take her in when he first saw her?
* ShadowedFaceGlowingEyes: Or rather, her entire body is nothing but a transparent shadow, the only details we see on her are her eyes.
