* EmpireWithADarkSecret: [[spoiler:The ruler of Shugoddam is the only one aware of the existence of the Galacticinsects with the king's task being to ensure that there's enough entertainment for Dagded or else Tikyu will be destroyed, thus forcing the world into an eternal cycle of war and violence.]]

* CharClone: Checks a number of boxes: as Ohkuwagata Ohger, he's primarily emblazoned in shining silver, comes armed with his own [=OhgerCalibur=], and he's the brother of one of the main characters who is also his greatest obstacle to his goals, or at least at first. This is taken more literally with his return as Shugo Mask, and even wears gold referencing Char's [[Anime/MobileSuitZetaGundam Hyaku Shiki]], as well the way he uses Goma as a SacrificialLamb mirrors Char's betrayal of Garma Zabi. Even further when he reveals himself in #41 as a DragonWithAnAgenda whose true goal was to destroy Dagded, much like how Char planned to bring down the Zabi family from within. His true allignment ultimately making him closer to TheMentor archetype.

* {{Expy}}: Of Hyuuga from ''Series/SeijuuSentaiGingaman''. They are both older brothers to the protagonist group's red rangers who embark a dark path to help them and their world. While Hyuuga was forced to become an {{Antihero}}, Racles accepted the role of {{Antivillain}}.

* FalseProphet: Racles pretends to be the chosen hero of a Shugod as Ohkuwagata Ohger and opposing evil. In truth, God Kuwagata decided to pass him over for his younger brother Gira, and Racles is actually a tyrant seeking to TakeOverTheWorld and willing to sacrifice his people in mass to do so. He's even empowered by a false god of his own creation rather than a true Shugod. Again, part of an act.
* FatalFlaw: His sense of entitlement. Racles feels entitled to everything he wants and the praise of others to the point ''not'' getting what he wants seems to be a foreign concept. A major reason Kaguragi and his sister's gambit works perfectly is simply that flattery and apparently falling head over heels in love with him are simply things Racles feels entitled to and expects. He also doesn't see the possibility the Bognaarok were using his 'peace treaty' with them to their own ends coming. Both of these bite him ''hard'' in the end. It ultimately ends up costing him everything, as he feels so entitled to being king that the idea of actually apologizing for his actions is something he can't stomach, because he genuinely sees his people as tools to serve him without complaint in #20. Subverted, as he deliberately plays this up as apart of his long-term gambit.

* ContrastingSequelAntagonist: To [[Series/AvataroSentaiDonbrothers Don Murasame]]. Both of them are {{palette swap}}s of their respective Red Ranger, are an antagonistic force, have their own all-black version of the main mecha that the overall team uses, and end up joining the heroes by the end of the story. However, whereas Murasame's ties to the overall story were limited to his character arc and a tiny bit of the B-plot regarding the Juto, as well as having been established midway through the show, Racles is established from the first episode to be a main threat, even moreso than Dethnaarok VIII at times. Murasame was originally a tool made to kill that was DesperatelyLookingForAPurposeInLife and almost blindly follows the orders of his "Mother" while trying to figure out his place in the world, pulling a HeelFaceTurn at the end of the story. Racles is - formerly - the ruler of his own nation that is GoodAllAlong and faked his loyalty to Dagded in order to find the perfect moment for him to strike back.

* SheIsTheKing: Gokkan's rulers bear the title of "king" (国王/''kokuō'') regardless of gender.

* HistoricalHeroUpgrade: He was based on the legend of Yukio, a yeti in Gokkan who kidnapped a traveller.

* ZeroPercentApprovalRating: Zigzagged. In his own kingdom, Racles is near-universally beloved, the only exceptions being Gira and some of his associates. Outside of Shugoddam, however, everyone who has an opinion of Racles ''abhors'' him. However, in #19 and #20, this fades away within Shugoddam's citizens, leaving Racles with no supporters to back him up, especially with Gorōge once he sees Racles's true colors. While Racles reveals his true heart towards the planet's last stand against the Galactinsects, the tyrannical act he had to put up to save the planet means that his reputation is in complete tatters, though he understood this.

* AllegoricalCharacter: For much of the series, Racles represents power-hungry dictators who are bent on invading sovereign countries given that his goal at the start of the series is to conquer the neighboring kingdoms to rule all of them. Towards the end though, he represents most real-life examples of {{Well Intentioned Extremist}}s, as someone willing to throw away their reputation for the sake of who and what they care for.

* TheHeavy: While not part of the Bognaarok, Racles forms the more persistent antagonist for the heroes due to his relationship with Gira.

* HeWhoFightsMonsters: Racles started out pretending to be an evil king to trick Dagded while he prepared his plan to kill him behind the Galactinsect King's back. However, by Racles' own admission, at some point he started BecomingTheMask and became a tyrant for real.

* HumansAreTheRealMonsters: Racles proved to be the, if not, most blackhearted human being compared to the likes of Dethnaarok and even Dagded. Racles will do anything to stoop to any low to get whatever he wants, and his tricking of Goma into his untimely demise ultimately earned him both Dagded's approval '''''and''''' ire at the same time. However, this is a subverted trope, as Racles was GoodAllAlong. He did ''everything'' as one long con to ensure Gira secured the throne and had the resources to defeat Dagded, even if it meant ''being seen as a monster.''
* {{Hypocrite}}: In episode #10, Racles chides the monarchs for not immediately taking his offer, saying that they're only thinking about themselves and putting their pride above the populace. However, Racles considers his citizens Racles best pawns to further his own ambitions, often using the current crisis to make a naked power grab for himself. This turns out to be him deliberately going over his original principles to uphold the facade.

* SpannerInTheWorks: As it turns out, Dagded ''wanted'' Gira to become a mindless {{Tykebomb}} so he could become the same kind of world-destroying being Grodie was. Racles refusing to go along with his father's plan and sending Gira away to the orphanage instead averts this fate entirely; having {{Ripple Effect}}s that made a lot of the show's events possible.

* SpannerInTheWorks: As it turns out, Dagded ''wanted'' Gira to become a mindless {{Tykebomb}} so can ended as a world destroying being similar to Grodie. This fate was averted due to Racles refusing to go along with his father's plan and sent Gira away to the orphanage.

* TheSociopath: He cares for no one other than his own ambitions; everything else is all beneath him. Again, it's an act.

* JapaneseDelinquents: A running style amongst its citizens, specifically of the ''bōsōzoku'' variety, likely inspired by their king. Even the palace guards are dressed like a biker gang, with males having DelinquentHair while females wear {{sarashi}}.

* TickleTorture: Discussed in #13. Shiokara ponders if Yanma's intention to prank Racles with a whoopee cushion will see his President subject to this for three days as punishment. He writes it off, assuming Yanma would remain stoic and unaffected even then. The President of N'Kosopa received a NoHoldsBarredBeatdown from a [[{{Pun}} royally]] pissed-off Jeramie instead.

* ElaborateUndergroundBase: After the TimeSkip, [[spoiler: Boggnarok moves its capital to Gokkan's depths]], indirectly making it this for the monarchs.

* SecretUndergroundPassage: Has an entire tunnel-system within the depths of its capital, which prisoners are known to try and use to escape. Becomes a good thing in #47 when said escapees are encouraged to [[spoiler: use it to transfer refugees displaced by the second Fury of the Gods to Boggnarok]].
