* KnifeNut: When they nearly get into an altercation with Arthur over who gets the werewolves, the duo pull out some knives from their person, Capella practically having a row of them from her sleeves.

* HandHidingSleeves: Capella wears an overgrown stripped suit to the point it barely even fits her.

* AmbiguouslyEvil: It's hard to tell if she's malicious or not. She seems friendly enough when Marietta and Wyatt meet her, stating she enjoys when new travelers come into the woods though would like one where they didn't meet a "bad end" per se, even offering them tea and having given Wyatt a map that'll lead to the back way out of the woods. But Wyatt is utterly put off by her since the map was hard to read, when she was serving tea the cup had ''bones'' in it (Marietta was looking away at the time, allowing the Storyteller to hide them) and the whole episode with the books brings up even more doubt. [[spoiler: Considering she was also the reason Harris, Lawrence and their mothers were turned into werewolves likewise adds fuel to the fire. Then again, she seems to be against the Conductor's actions as well.

* AllForNothing: He had came to the woods hoping to find Velia whom had suddenly vanished from the village she was in. With the conductor's help he managed to find her, but by then the time on her ticket had ran out and turned her into a tree monster who, supposedly, attacked him. Only prevented due to someone saving him. What's more he had come to the hotel thinking to find her killer and kill them to fulfill the contract so he could leave the woods. It ended up being fruitless because none of the suspects there murdered her [[spoiler: At least not out of malicious intent]].

* GeniusDitz: Has some decent detective skills, but, being only 12, she lacks survivor skills and situational awareness. Heck she came into the woods on a whim and was woefully under-prepared what she was getting into.

* LeeroyJenkins: She's brave but very foolhardy and has a habit of getting in over her head. Its obvious if she hadn't run into Wyatt she wouldn't have survived the starting points of the woods.

* SpannerInTheWorks: Implied for whatever the Conductor has planned. The Storyteller cites since she doesn't have a ticket, this effectively make Marietta one since he can't control her.

* StoicSpectacles: Slightly, he sociable but very cautious. Considering how dangerous the woods are, it's justified.

* SurroundedByIdiots: Feels this way at time considering Doubts barely has a grasp on the job and Nova... is Nova.

* PoliceAreUseless: He tries, he really does, but more often then not he causes more problems then he helps with such as abandoning his post to guard the entrance of a manor during a crime investigation, which allowed Marietta to sneak in, and ending up lost in the manor when trying to look for clues. Likewise he didn't want to follow Marietta into Departure Acres due to his own fear preventing him, opting to go get Gloria and Nova while trusting Marietta to stay put at the entrance. Three guess how that goes.

* LargeHam: He likes to be over dramatic when investigating.

* NotNowKiddo: Like Gloria, he just sees any problem most of the kids come to Gloria and him with as just childish fare without really looking into things. Apparently this has been a contributing problem to a lot of missing cases around the village. [[spoiler: Including the one involving Veila as a flashback had Owen come to him to looking into her disappearance, only to have it be dismissed as a runaway case.]]

* BigBad: Set up as one in the series being the cause behind the tickets [[spoiler: though the end of the third chapter suggests there might be others involved.]]
* DealWithTheDevil: Those that board his train are given the option of being killed on the spot or take a ticket from him which does allow the user to travel through the woods on the train freely at the expense of a "favor" from him [[spoiler: which normally involve killing another ticket holder. If the timer reaches it's end, the inhabitant becomes a tree monster to which the Conductor takes their souls.]]
* GhostTrain: He runs one and is ''highly'' protective of it. [[spoiler: Despite Marinetta not really out to stop him, he worries her investigations will lead to the lack of souls to run it which in turn will cause it to disappear and decides to personally get involved. The fact he couldn't give her a ticket likewise seems to urk him since she isn't under any obligation to him.]]

* YourSoulIsMine: [[spoiler: He collects soul via the tickets since it's the only source to power the train.]]

* LargeHam: Very much one for flourish in an effort to come off as a eccentric host. No one takes him seriously though.

* RedHerring: He was thought to be the one who murdered Veila by Owen due to a lot of clues pointing to him. But it turned out to be circumstantial evidence and, despite his demeanor, he was innocent all along.

* DidntThinkThisThrough: As admirable as it was to have Whistle patrolling the grounds. He neglected to tell Lawrence about it which in turn made him think that Whistle was the suppose demon of the inn and the whole invitation ploy to get rid of it.

* GetOut: Tries to get Marietta and Wyatt to leave once they reach the inn thinking the two were there to cause trouble. Marietta however refuses and Lawrence ends up overriding him.

* NiceJobBreakingItHero: With most of the suspects trapped in a cell, Marietta had them in place to question them if they were Silva's killer. But Harris snatched the key to their cell from her, wanting to get them to all leave as soon as possible. This allowed Capella to snatch it from him and free the others. What's more, Leo and she, along with Arthur turned out to be specifically after him and his family due to being werewolves, albeit for different reason (Leo and Capella trying to force them into being attractions at their carnival. Arthur trying to kill them and take their werewolf pelts).

* DyingClue: Well fading away clue anyway. But after Anita breaks the sword which was the only thing keeping her on the mortal plane. She fades away though tells Marietta that someone from the village threw her into the woods and leaves a name for Marietta to go off of.
* CuteGhostGirl: Very much so least until she starts getting impatient at Marietta's progress, then not so much.

* NoOntologicalInertia: As a poltergeist, she teetered to the living world by the sword that killed her which is still stuck in her corpse. Once it's destroyed, she passes on.
* OneWingedAngel: As she grows more impatient with the prgoress of Marietta's investigation, she starts to turn more malicious, turning darker as a result.
* TheReveal: She's Owen's girlfriend who's real name is Veila Vice (Silvia was a name that Marietta had given her due to the fact she was "sliver" looking plus that Veila had forgotten her name.) who was cast into the woods and had the misfortune to run into the conductor who gave her a ticket. The time on the ticket ran out and turned her into a tree monster and was killed by someone trying to protect Owen from her new feral state.
* WhoDunnitToMe: Wants to know how she died and request this of Marietta to help solve it during the arc as she feels one of the guests there did the deed. While she's right, the circumstances are a whole other story.

* AllForNothing: He had came to the woods hoping to find Veila whom had suddenly vanished from the village she was in. With the conductor's help he managed to find her, but by then the time on her ticket had ran out and turned her into a tree monster who, supposedly, attacked him. * IDidWhatIHadToDo: It's implied that she was the one that saved Owen from the newly transformed Veila. Indirectly killing her to keep her from harming him. Ultimately she finishes the job after Veila nearly turns into a malicious poltergeist to give her soul peace.
* TheReveal: Actually a close friend of the Lawrence and Harris's family. She came to the inn out of worry when she didn't hear back from the brothers' parents.

* BerserkButton: She seems to have a inferiority complex as when Marietta calls her out for her bullying behavior, Milly goes into a massive fit that she was the one given the task to get the keys.

* {{Hypocrite}}: Claims Marietta will pay for bullying Milly despite ''Milly'' clearly is the one threatening Wyatt and her and Marietta was defending herself. Marietta calls him out for it.

* BigGuyLittleGuy: Leo's the tallest of the pair while Capella the short one

* ALighterShadeOfBlack: Capella tries to convince Harris to come with them after hearing Arthur had planned to skin him and his family for their werewolf pelts. Citing at least Leo and she were trying to capture his family alive. Of course the prospect of being in a cage to be gawked at as a sideshow freak isn't any better.

* JacobMarleyApparel: She was stabbed to death with a sword which she still has in her ghostly form. Once she turns more threatening, she's able to pull out she sword and use it as her main weapon.
