[[folder:Supporting Characters]]

!!Allie /Alicia
->Voiced by: Jo Wyatt

Oliver's mother. A kind woman who cares deeply for her child. She loses her life after saving Oliver's in a tragic accident. At the insistence of Drippy, Oliver goes on a quest to save her.

--------------------------------

* ActionMom: Not only did she rush to Oliver's aid (at the expense of her own health and well-being... and life), but [[spoiler:in actuality, she is the Great Sage Alicia. As a small girl native to the Other World, she was saved by Shadar before he became evil. When he did, she spent years to become a sage, traveled back (forward?) in time, crossed dimensions to Earth and absorbed Shadar's other self's soul that he had cast off (Oliver) and gave birth to him as part of a plan to save Shadar.]]
* HeroicSacrifice: Saves Oliver from drowning in the river, but suffers a heart attack afterwards and dies in the hospital.
* KilledOffForReal: [[spoiler:Indeed, Oliver's quest to save her turns out to be in vain. Poor lad...]]
* RetiredBadass: [[spoiler:Of her own volition, more or less. She had to leave her home world in order to help raise Oliver, which meant that she had to give up her life in that world.]]
* SaveTheVillain: [[spoiler:And she pulls one hell of a plan to do so: going forward in time and ''becoming the mother of his'' ''AlternateSelf''!]]
* WalkingSpoiler: Her true identity spoils a major twist towards the end of the game.

!!King Tom XIV
->Voiced by: Lewis Macleod

The "Meowjesty" of Ding Dong Dell. He assists Oliver in his journey after restoring a piece of heart he was missing, giving Oliver his first real wand (as in, one that's not a stick).

--------------------------------

* AdiposeRex: Considering his soulmate is a fat cat, this is probably not that much of a surprise.
* AnimalJingoism: His ArchEnemy is a rodent king.
* CatsAreMean: Completely [[InvertedTrope Inverted]]. [[spoiler: But played straight when affected by manna.]]
* CoolCat: His subjects seem to like him.
* FaceMonsterTurn: [[spoiler:Thankfully it was reversible.]]
* FisherKing: His subjects' personalities generally reflect his, hence why you have to find him some enthusiasm.
* MegaNeko: A human-sized cat. [[spoiler:Turns UpToEleven due to the manna infliction.]]
* NeatFreak: Near the end of the game, he spends a lot of time grooming himself before presenting himself to the town's festival.
* PoisonousPerson: [[spoiler:His claw swipes can poison you during his boss fight.]]
* RoyalsWhoActuallyDoSomething: Helps Oliver and company breach the White Witch's Ivory Tower.
* RoyalWe: Or rather, "Royal One".
* StockAnimalName: Tom. As in tomcat.
* TurnsRed: [[spoiler:His monster form starts the battle on all-fours and doesn't have much in the way of attacks. Until you deplete his HP and he stands up...]]
* VerbalTic: Like many cat characters, he says words like Purrfect or Purrcisely.

!!Great Sage Rashaad
->Voiced by: Colin MacFarlane

A former Great Sage and father to Esther. He works as a Babana merchant in Al Mamoon and initially refuses to help Oliver stand up against Shadar, but warms up to him after he heals his brokenhearted daughter.

--------------------------------

* BadassBaritone: Shared between both him and his soulmate.
* CoolOldGuy: At least once he knows that Esther is freed of her brokenheartedness.
* RetiredBadass: Temporarily. He seems to get back into the Sage business after his daughter's heart is restored.

!!Queen Lowlah
->Voiced by: Rachel Atkins

The "Cowlipha" of Al Mamoon. She favors cheese to the point that when she became brokenhearted, that's all she'd eat (in excess). She assists Oliver by providing him a boat after he cures her of her gluttony.

--------------------------------

* AbhorrentAdmirer: Subverted. While she has an obvious crush on Marcassin, giving the heroes his photo, and Drippy finds this fact creepy, we aren't shown how Marcassin himself reacts to her fawning over him when they meet for the first time.
* AchillesHeel: [[spoiler:The 'Burden' spell when she's turned into a monster.]]
* [[AdiposeRex Adipose Regina]]: Supposedly her prodigious size is due to how much she stuffed herself while brokenhearted. We never see her when she's thin, but the Wizard's Companion provides a bust picture of one of her ancestors, who resembled a skinnier version of Lowlah.
* ALoadOfBull: She has bovine horns. She's also the only one in the game that's a cow person.
* BigBeautifulWoman: The CatGirl who runs the inn describes her as beautiful.
* BigEater: Brought on by Shadar taking away her restraint.
* FaceMonsterTurn: [[spoiler:Same deal as Tom.]]
* {{Gainaxing}}: In the in-game cutscenes, she bounces a few times while stumbling to get out of bed after recovering from her broken heart. It happens again later in the game, including an audible sound alongside the effect.
* LargeAndInCharge: She's taller than Oliver's house!
* OurGiantsAreBigger: The largest character in the game aside from ''Shadar's final form''! Nothing anywhere explains why she's like this.
* RoyalWe: Her speech pattern.
* TrademarkFavoriteFood: Cheese.
* TurnsRed: [[spoiler:Jumps up on her feet in the second phase of her fight and starts dishing out really painful body slams.]]
* VillainousGlutton: She acts this way when heartbroken.

!!Supreme Sage Solomon

A sage who lives within the Temple of Trials. He assists apprentice wizards and runs a competition called the Solosseum.

--------------------------------
* BigGuyLittleGuy: Little guy to his servant, Umbopa.
* {{Jerkass}}: He doesn't have many nice things to say towards Oliver and Esther, or anyone in general.
* MeaningfulName: According to some legends King Solomon was said to be able to tame and control Daemons, in the game Sage Solomon gives Ester an item that lets her do the same thing to get more familiars.
* OlderThanTheyLook: He looks about as tall as Oliver, and almost looks around his age. However, he's old enough that he's trained Rashaad, Khulan, Marcassin and Alicia.
* PintSizedPowerhouse: Well, we never see him in action, but according to everyone else, he should be pretty powerful. The closest we come to witnessing his power is in [[spoiler:the Solosseum, where he's the final match. Appropriate to the trope, instead of using the biggest, most powerful Nobilia type creatures against you (which are all stronger than normal familiars by their very nature), Solomon just uses gold versions of Oliver, Esther, and Swaine's starter familiars in their base form (so Mite, Drongo, and Hurly respectively). And they're strong enough to kick the ass of a max leveled party of familiars to boot!]]
* [[invoked]]TastesLikeDiabetes: Invoked by Solomon himself. He appears to hate anything "cute" or "sweet", and refers to the hearts that appear over tamable familiars' heads as "disgusting".

!!Great Sage Khulan
->Voiced by: Abigail Thaw

The Great Sage Khulan was once the queen of the Kingdom of Xanadu. After the Kingdom fell to Shadar, she became brokenhearted and proceeded to do the same to the people of Perdida.

--------------------------------

* BrainwashedAndCrazy: While brokenhearted, she was being manipulated by Shadar, acting as his "representative."
* ItsAllMyFault: Blames herself for the fall of Xanadu. Oliver and Kublai mention that this is not the case.
* RoyalsWhoActuallyDoSomething: Once she's cured, she orders Kublai to assist in helping all the world's cities stand up to Shadar's evils.

!!Kublai
->Voiced by: Creator/MarkLewisJones

The King of the Sky Pirates and master of Tengri, a winged Dragon.

--------------------------------

* AuthorityEqualsAsskicking: [[spoiler:He's a former commander of Xanadu's airborne division. Who knew?]]
* BadassBeard: Which simply accentuates his rugged demeanor.
* BadassBoast: He's one of the few (or possibly, the ''only'') people you encounter who isn't afraid of the very mention of Shadar, proclaiming that he'll show him what it means to face a "true adversary."
* CoolAirship: The Iron Wyvern.
* EmotionalBruiser: Oliver takes two parts of his heart over the course of the story.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: He's probably the only other character aside from Solomon who hardly cares for Oliver's manners, but he loves his land and would do anything to help it and its Queen, [[spoiler:including admitting that he loves Queen Khulan in order to help mend her broken heart.]]
* MeaningfulName: He's named after Kublai Khan, the founder of the Yuan Dynasty in China. His soulmate in the other world, [[spoiler: Genghis]], is named after the founder of Mongol Empire.
* RedBaron: "King of the Sky Pirates."
* SkyPirate: The leader of the only band of Sky Pirates in the world, thanks to their flying airship and their dragon allies.
* StarCrossedLovers: [[spoiler:With Khulan at first, of the 'commoner loving royalty' type. That is, until she points out that, since her city was destroyed, she's technically not queen anymore...]]

!!Horace / Horologium

A mysterious, ghostly boy who speaks to Oliver in riddles, and rewards him whenever he can figure them out. The player encounters him in various villages throughout the game.

--------------------------------

* BadassBeard: [[spoiler:The older version of him has one.]]
* ChildMage: He claims to be the Sage of Ages and the one who penned the first Wizard's Companion when we first meet him. Drippy doubts him almost immediately (thanks to having never heard of a "Sage of Ages") and thinks that he's just a braggart. [[spoiler:Turns out that he's lost his memory, and ends up being spurred on to regain it after meeting Oliver.]]
* DeadpanSnarker: He lets out a few snarks towards Oliver and Drippy, mostly towards the latter.
* ItsAllMyFault: [[spoiler:He feels that leaving Cassiopeia behind and ignoring her for the sake of revenge against the Council is what started this whole mess, and that being forced to wander the world as a ghost, [[LaserGuidedAmnesia blissfully unaware of his actions in life]] for the longest time, is apt punishment for what he had done. When his sidequest is finally over, he gives Oliver the alchemy plans for a powerful wand and simply asks him to save his queen.]]
* LaserGuidedAmnesia: The fact that Horace can't remember his life from when he was alive distresses him greatly. [[spoiler: It's later revealed that, among other things, he was a student of the Wizard King, took part in the Wizard Wars, was tasked to train Cassiopeia in magic (which is why he wrote the Wizard's Companion, to be a manual of sorts for the future queen), and was part of the Nazcaan Council of Twelve as the original "Gallus". He left the Council when he realized their true intentions, afraid that they were going to snuff him out like they did the Wizard King, leaving behind Cassiopeia, who had tried to deal with their cruelty to her kingdom by invoking the Forbidden Spell, [[MysticalPlague manna]], which she thought would save her kingdom due to her spellbook's lack of details on certain spells.]]
* MyGreatestFailure: [[spoiler: He firmly believes that it was his resignation from the Council of Twelve is what doomed Nazcaa to ruin, and his constant thoughts of revenge for their evils blinded him to his duty to Cassiopeia. Because he had only wrote down spells with their descriptions in the Wizard's Companion he gave, but ''not'' their drawbacks, he inadvertently set Cassiopeia on her StartOfDarkness, who, in a misguided attempt to save her kingdom, used the Manna spell, causing the utter destruction of Nazcaa and the eventual birth of the White Witch.]]
* OurGhostsAreDifferent: [[spoiler:In that he's inexplicably a child when you first meet him, despite him dying as an adult.]]
* QuestForIdentity: He travels the world trying to figure out who he was.
* WalkingSpoiler: He plays a fairly major role in the game's backstory that is only revealed in post-game.

!!Old Father Oak
->Voiced by: Alexander Morton

A very old tree that lives in the Deep Dark Wood. He is one of the first people Oliver encounters in the other world. He assists Oliver by giving him his first spells and the Telling Stone, a compendium of knowledge.

--------------------------------

* DeadpanSnarker: Towards Drippy.
* TheMentor: Gives Oliver his first spells, as well as his first Familiar.
* WalkingTheEarth: Did so in his youth. How he did it is detailed in a Wizard's Companion tale that he gives you.
* WiseTree: [[spoiler:Though his backstory implies that he wasn't always so wise.]]

!!Smiley n' Surly
->Voiced by: Owain Rhys Davies (Smiley) and Matthew Gravelle (Surly)

Two faeries who are friends with Drippy, as he had trained them on their comedy stylings when they were up-and-comers. They put on a comedy routine in the Fairygrounds.

--------------------------------

* BokeAndTsukkomiRoutine: Their little comedy bits are this.
* RedOniBlueOni: They're even color coded to match!
* ThoseTwoGuys: Aside from just being Drippy's old "butties", they are also Drippy's informants, providing important news to him while he was dormant as a doll. [[spoiler:However, Drippy later tells Oliver (if you speak to him in Nevermore or the Ivory Tower) that the two were idiots that never gave him ''any'' useful information.]]

!!Phil
->Voiced by: Max Cazier

Oliver's best friend. He has a hobby of making cars in his spare time. He is a hard working person, but tends to be stubborn and defensive.

--------------------------------

* CoolCar: The Philmobile. [[spoiler: You can even obtain it for yourself in post-game!]]
* FireForgedFriends: Implied with him and Oliver. One of the flashbacks implies that they originally weren't on equal terms, as Phil would occasionally pick on Oliver.
* ItsAllMyFault: He blames himself for the [[spoiler: death of Oliver's mother and spends most of the time after the event depressed. He even loses his ambition, which causes a Nightmare to spawn in him.]]
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: Shows a bit of a mean side: from teasing Oliver and "Starey Mary", but he genuinely means well.

* CastingAShadow: Her Falling Star spell, as well as Nightshade.
* {{Cloudcuckoolander}}: [[spoiler:A very dark, unfunny variant. She spends most of the game talking to what turn out to figments of her imagination made real by her magic. * WalkingSpoiler: He plays a fairly major role in the game's backstory that is only revealed in post-game.

!!Old Father Oak
->Voiced by: Alexander Morton

A very old tree that lives in the Deep Dark Wood. He is one of the first people Oliver encounters in the other world. He assists Oliver by giving him his first spells and the Telling Stone, a compendium of knowledge.

--------------------------------

* DeadpanSnarker: Towards Drippy.

!!Phil
->Voiced by: Max Cazier

Oliver's best friend. He has a hobby of making cars in his spare time. He is a hard working person, but tends to be stubborn and defensive.

!!Tropes related to Oliver, Esther, Swaine, and Marcassin:
* TheBeastmaster: Everyone can fight with their familiars, but special mention goes to Esther, who is the only one that can tame them.
* FighterMageThief: Oliver, Esther, and Swaine fit this dynamic in regards to their personal special abilities. Oliver flings offensive spells at his opponents (and becomes quite the powerhouse in the latter parts of the game), along with a few potent healing spells to keep him and his friends in the fight; Ester's abilities focus more on healing and buffs (and, as mentioned, is the only member who can tame familiars); while Swaine is the trickster, stealing items from enemies or hitting 'em with de-buffs. [[spoiler: Marcassin joins as a sort of Jack-of-all-Trades, having many of the same spells as Oliver (though lacking the really hard-hitting ones) allowing him to fill any role in battle.]]
* IntergenerationalFriendship: Oliver and Esther, barely in their teens, being friends with the much older Swaine, and to a lessen extent, to Marcassin.

!!Oliver
->Voiced by: Adam Wilson

A boy from the peaceful town of Motorville. Oliver led a simple life until he mischievously snuck out at night to test his car with his friend, which in turn resulted in him falling into the river due to the White Witch's intervention. His mother luckily rescued him, but she suffered a heart attack right after.

Days later, Oliver meets Mr. Drippy after a SwissArmyTears unseals him. He then tells Oliver about the truth regarding his mother, showing him an opportunity to save her by going to another world. Hesitant at first, Oliver takes on the adventure.

!!Drippy (シズク Shizuku)
->Voiced by: Steffan Rhodri

A fairy from another world who was turned into a doll, which ended up in Oliver's hands by his mother. He's happy to guide Oliver around in order for him to defeat Shadar and bring peace.

-------------------------------------
* CutscenePowerToTheMax: His only use for battles is to support you by casting Tidy Tears (a healing spell that also gives you a defense boost). In cutscenes? Aside from the PintsizedPowerhouse entry, he can also ''catch up to a boat while running at full speed on top of water'' and carries heavy stuff for you.
* DeadpanSnarker: The snarkiest one in the game. He's often the one bluntly pointing out others' silliness, and is usually the first to voice his disapproval over something he doesn't understand.
* DepartmentOfRedundancyDepartment: He introduces himself as the "Lord High...er, Lord of the fairies", in what seems to be an attempt to make his regular title sound better. From then on, he ''always'' refers to himself as "Lord High Lord".
* DemotedToExtra: Drippy used to be a party member that would fight alongside you in ''Jet-black Mage''. In ''White Witch'', he's your guide and offers advice on boss fights for a "Chance!" moment, and can randomly use his Tidy Tears skill during battle.
* DynamicEntry: They could have just gone through the backdoor from the Fairy Mother's entrance, but instead he opts to get shot out of a cannon ''straight into her mouth''.
* ExpositionFairy: He's your source of info, no matter how much Oliver annoys him with his lack of knowledge.
* Fairy companion: To Oliver.
* FunetikAksent : His Welsh accent is strong enough that the subtitles transcribe it more or less directly in text, with "Your" as "Youer" and "Our" as "Ouer", as well as other words.
* GoshDangItToHeck: He says "flipping" a lot, along with "heck" and "knickers".
* InvisibleToNormals: He can't be seen by any of Motorville's residents.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: Short-tempered, impatient and no-nonsense, but he ultimately means well.
* MotorMouth: Probably a weird case in the English version of the game, but he talks a little bit too fast. No wonder why Oliver is often confused.
* PintsizedPowerhouse: Though he doesn't fight alongside you (in the [=PS3=] version), he does throw a boss' shield ''ten times bigger than he is''.
* PluckyComicRelief: Fittingly. Not only does he hail from a community where comedy is a cultural staple, but he's considered a legendary comedian even there.
* RoyalsWhoActuallyDoSomething: If his title is more than a comedic affectation.
* SealedGoodInACan: He was turned into a doll by Shadar and somehow ended up in Motorville. Oliver ended up freeing him from his BalefulPolymorph early in the game.
* SwissArmyTears: His Tidy Tears spell that heals all your party members ''and'' gives them a defense bonus. This is hinted at in one of the tales of wonder that talks about a fairy who had healing tears.
* VerbalTic: He tends to say "Tidy!" when a problem's been solved. He also speaks with an incredibly [[{{UsefulNotes/Wales}} Welsh]] accent and mannerisms.
* WhyDidItHaveToBeSnakes: Apparently has a fear of "slimy things", like snakes and frogs.

!!Esther (マル Maru)
->Voiced by: Lauren Mote

Daughter of the sage Rashaad of the other world and Myrtle's soul mate, she was robbed of a piece of her heart until Oliver mended Myrtle's family struggle. As thanks, she accompanies Oliver in his journey to defeat Shadar. Though she wishes to have some kind of good personal reason other than helping Oliver out...

--------------------------------------

* AndNowForSomeoneCompletelyDifferent: [[spoiler:Very briefly playable when Oliver's in his coma.]]
* BareYourMidriff: Thanks to her outfit.
* BedlahBabe: She's the only one dressed like this in her kingdom and her main outfit is explicitly stated to aid in dancing.
* ButNotTooBlack: An extreme example; while her father is dark-skinned, she looks entirely white, complete with blonde hair and blue eyes.
* TheChick: To drive the point home, she's extremely enamored with romance, such as the story of the Frog Prince, [[spoiler:or {{squee}}ing over the fact that the fearsome Sky Pirate Kublai is in love with his queen.]]
* FriendToAllLivingThings: From familiars to other fauna, this is what makes her the [[TheBeastmaster tamer]] of the group.
* GirlyRun: Except during battle, oddly enough.
* InvisibleToNormals: She can't be seen by the people of Motorville.
* JumpedAtTheCall: Eagerly and immediately after Oliver cures her from Shadar's brokenhearted spell.
* MusicMagic: Aside from using her harp to tame familiars, she also uses it to buff and heal allies and occasionally damage foes with a magical soundwave.
* OddCouple: With Swaine. Most of their humor revolves around how different the two are.
* PluckyGirl: A norm for Creator/StudioGhibli's works.
* SkirtOverSlacks: Mostly to lessen the amount of skin her [[BedlahBabe normal clothes]] show. Again, she's the only one wearing this type of fashion in the game.
* StatusBuff: Her Songs can enhance the party's abilities.
* SupportPartyMember: She's more useful as the buffer and healer than as a combatant; she hardly even gets any attack spells and her Magical Attack stat doesn't lend much to them anyway. She's better off relying on her familiars for actual combat.
* WhiteMage: Gains some nice healing spells fairly early on, much sooner than Oliver.

!!Swaine/ Gascon (ジャイロ Jairo)
->Voiced by: Louis Tamone

A traveling thief who causes a few problems for Oliver until he joins his side. For some reason, he's concerned about reaching Hamelin and having a talk with the sage... He's in a personal turmoil about his younger brother not being himself. After a few hurdles, the two finally make peace once more.

----------------------------
* AntiHero: He starts off as a bit of a jerk, but once Esther and Oliver really get to know him, Swaine becomes very friendly, if a bit snarky.
* BadassNormal: He has little to no magic to speak of, aside from using familiars, with all of his MP moves using his [[CoolGun "Trickshots"]] and has the lowest MP amount of the group.
* BigBrotherInstinct: [[spoiler:To Marcassin, his younger brother.]]
** And to a lesser extent, to [[AdorablyPrecociousChild Oliver]] who he seems to take a liking to soon after meeting.
* BigNo: [[spoiler:When he sees his father dying fifteen years in the past, only in person this time. Ouch...]]
* ButtMonkey: Mostly due to Esther chiding at his snark.
* CatSmile: Can be noticed at certain camera angles.
* DeadpanSnarker: Only slightly less than Drippy.
* GrapplingHookPistol: Grappling-Hook ''Lockpick'' Pistol, [[CoolGun actually.]]
* ImpossibleThief: Taken UpToEleven with his [[LimitBreak Miracle Move]] that allows him to ''steal the rarest item from any enemy 100% of the time''.
* TheGunslinger: Thus making him the only party member who can attack at range with his regular attack.
* {{Hypocrite}}: Gets called out as one by Esther for [[spoiler: chastising Pea about abandoning her kingdom. She points out that ''he's'' not exactly one to comment.]] "Ouch..."
* KingIncognito: [[spoiler:It becomes obvious once the party reaches Hamelin that Swaine used to be royalty. It takes the rest of the party longer to figure it out though. This is also PlayedForLaughs when Swaine reveals this info to them... ''during the last arc of the game'', at which point they've long since figured it out.]]
* LoveableRogue: Probably the friendliest (if snarky) thief you'll ever meet.
* MeaningfulName: [[PunnyName Swaine]] seems similar enough to [[AnimalStereotypes "Swine"]] to count as foreshadowing his connection to the Pig-based Hamelin. [[spoiler: Eespecially since the other members of royalty you've met have pun based names, though since it isn't his birth name it might be more of a MeaningfulRename instead. His real name, Gascon, on the other hand can refer to being a boastful person or braggart, fitting his [[RoyalBrat personality]] when he was younger.]]
* MuggleBornOfMages: [[spoiler:This is the main reason Gascon became Swaine, since the emperor of Hamelin also ''has'' to be a great sage Marcassin would end up getting the throne regardless of what he did and also caused him to believe that he was his father's [[TheUnfavorite unfavorite]] so he left home to find his own path.]]
* TheNthDoctor: [[spoiler:This is the present-day Gascon. It's incredible what a life of poverty away from your castle can do to you.]]
* OddCouple: With Esther. Most of their comedy comes from how different the two are.
* RichesToRags: [[spoiler:Purposely left his kingdom as a teen in order to find a purpose. To say that his appearance changed greatly due to this is an understatement.]]
* RoyalsWhoActuallyDoSomething: [[spoiler:He attempted to help Marcassin become a sage when they were younger, but resolved to find his own purpose and help out in his own way during that time. Later in life, he ends up helping Oliver save the world. Twice.]]
* TheSmartGuy: At least in street savvy.
* VideoGameStealing: Despite firearms being relatively rare in the setting, he steals using a type of gun specifically made for thieves that can steal from long distances thanks to the retractable claw attached to the gun.
* WarriorPrince: [[spoiler:Well, he's already renounced it but it still counts.]]
* WhyDidItHaveToBeSnakes: Is just as reluctant to explore the Vault of Tears (home to a dangerous snake king) as Drippy is.
* WellDoneSonGuy: [[spoiler:His lack of magical ability and the cold shoulder he got from his father caused him to believe he was TheUnfavorite. When he claims as such to his father when the party is sent to the past, his dad is appalled at the claim he doesn't love one of his sons.]]
* YouKilledMyFather: [[spoiler:Shadar kills the Emperor while they were off getting Mornstar.]]
* YoungerThanTheyLook: He's in his late twenties, but a life of thieving and poverty on the streets have left him looking a fair bit older and quite haggard. To quote the man himself, "You don't get a face like this unless you've lived a little."

!!Marcassin (ラース Lars)
->Voiced by: Iain McKee

The prince and Great Sage of Hamelin. Marcassin is at a complete loss due to his heart being deprived of its belief. Oliver and company aid him to recover his lost belief, and from there, he aids them in their adventure.

->Voiced by: Alexander Morton

A very old tree that lives in the Deep Dark Wood. He is one of the first people Oliver encounters in the other world. He assists Oliver by giving him his first spells and the Telling Stone, a compendium of knowledge.

--------------------------------

* DeadpanSnarker: Towards Drippy.

!!Phil
->Voiced by: Max Cazier

Oliver's best friend. He has a hobby of making cars in his spare time. He is a hard working person, but tends to be stubborn and defensive.

Unfortunately, because of this, Marcassin ends up being only used during the last few, relatively small final dungeons, and the post-game. Not only does he join at a low level (depending on how extensively the player grinded the others), Marcassin turns out to be an inferior Oliver in gameplay, only surpassing Oliver's physical attack stat, which is useless for a wizard character. His spells aren't much better; they have a shorter cooldown timer than Oliver's, but they're also the ''same'' as Oliver's, barring the story specific ones that only Oliver can use, meaning Marcassin lacks the most powerful spells in the game. Worse still, since the other three party members already have roles (Esther for taming, Swaine for stealing), and [[CantDropTheHero you can't get rid of Oliver]], Marcassin's usefulness drops almost to nil.]]

* SmallRoleBigImpact: [[spoiler: The original Zodiarchy, the Nazcaan Council of Twelve, were merely a group of scheming mages, with no grand plans beyond 'Rule Nazcaa as despots'. They've been dead for millennia before the game even begins. Nevertheless, their petty, power-hungry actions end of causing mind-blowing levels of suffering for the whole of the Other World for thousands of years hence. * DespairGambit: The reason Shadar apparently makes so many glaring mistakes, like not enlisting the help of the Zodiarchs, or showing up to taunt Oliver before leaving, rather than killing him on the spot.
