Mikael confusing her with a demon is a particular aggravation. She can reach souls, create clerics and 'chosen ones', and of course exercise her own innate power, but these all come with troubling twists. Though that covers up the taxonomy problem with mechanics. Matten and her kind are ''[[EldritchAbomination other]]'' things haphazardly lumped into a category with the likes of Yazata, Olympians, Baals, etc. Daeva innately [[note]]but not intractably[[/note]] warp the universe and its natural laws with their very presence. With Matten herself, she dims the light and [[EvilTaintedThePlace 'renovates' the very earth where she treads, breaking the bonds between sacred elements or magics and their source]]. Her body can only be called that in the loosest sense, being 'inspired by' not of flesh and blood. She has 'human' organs speaks and sings with her ribs crushing her lungs and thinks clearly after apparently severe head trauma, and the daeva only breathes or moves her eyes to be sociable. * MyGreatestFailure: The reason behind his fear of dogs. [[spoiler: At twelve, he was in the middle of an attack of monster dogs after sneaking away from his father's sight while they were camping. He couldn't do anything to help other campers, and would have died if his dad didn't arrive just in time to catch him from a long fall.]] He still beats himself up over it.

Rebecca's bond with Elly has given her power of 'anything putrid or filthy', and she had the added benefit of being the only student of Class 1 to arrive with her morals and priorities more or less straight--at least for becoming a superhero in Saint's mold.

He has the ability to act as a catalyst for energy conversion, using metal- like his grandfather's old sword- to attract magnetic energy and convert it to different types of energy, like kinetic energy in the form of a force field or an energy beam.
