* SwissArmySuperpower: Matten's khaverenah is her mainstay[[note]]along with mastery of her domain/body[[/note]], and its infamous taint isn't even its primary function, just a side-effect of exposure. She's much more apt to use herself and her powerful aura as a medium for great feats. All of the powers below are just how she typically exercises her ability.

A young man with the power to control shadows, Hei Lin was aandoned in the city slums as a baby and taken in by a band of homeless beggars and thieves. Over the years, Hei lived a life stealing food and supplies from businesses, evading police and fighting muggers and local gangs. When he was 13, Hei's luck ran out and he was arrested breaking into a pharmacy. The Judge took pity on him and sentenced him to be rehabilitation at Saint Academy, in the hopes that Hei could learn to become a hero.

* ShadowWalker:Can teleport by using existing shadows as "gates".
* ShrinkingViolet:Male example. Outside of a fight, Hei is a timid stuttering mess.

* Child Soldier: Downplayed. While she is a member of an army, she is not a combatant, just a weapon tester.

For the cause of justice (as long as it makes a good ally), she holds herself out as an ember of divinity, and she'll happily provide for each one saved is one more soul to the call. [[spoiler: Her years come mostly from the cockroach school of survival though more than anything. She's not invincible and she knows it. But she's not one to stew in jealously, or let her ability to protect atrophy.]] She keeps aware of her held and potential realm and is alert for calls for aid--so long as its from the right persons. Even the chosen should work to keep her attention though...

* Mimicry: Something between an incomplete AdaptiveAbility and jury-rigged PowerCopying, Matten uses her mediumship to sample attacks thrown at her and add them to her own repotoire. Not that its perfect. Her copy of a flamethrower won't be a fire, it'll be burst of her own aura with similar movements and perhaps heat if she does it right. (She can't change her element, at least not with as by her innate power).

* [[SuperSenses Greater]] [[PsychicRadar Somesthesis]] Matten connects herself, through her aura, to the 'flow' of the world, enhancing her sense of touch (especially in darkness--like the bit that always surrounds her), with which she detects people and things and the residue of both in great detail. This is actually her dominant sense. Matten already perceives the world largely through touch. [[note]]Matten uses the darkness to extend her sense of touch, feeling out quite accurately what's present in darkness connected to her (or her followers, see below); she can feel out the aura/residue of the souls of people, including the presence of say, divine (or fiendish) patrons clinging to their clients; may 'remotely' use the sense of people who give her permission to (like her followers); can sense entreaties directed at her (even without permission to share senses); and has a sense of anchoring, that is knowing exactly where she is in spacetime (for navigation or otherwise), by using her followers, the surroundings, and things she's touched and left her own residue on as buoys.[[/note]]

* MasterOfYourDomain Matten's body is completely under her control, not that she'll use DetachmentCombat often. It's a pain to get those parts back together, and there's better options (see below), but she'll find uses for say, spitting bile at people who both make her angry and stand too close.

* OffscreenTeleportation 'Direct Traverse' in Matten-speak. She does not break down into her component particles, nor is her movement instantaneous. She moves on the 4th (and 5th, etc.) spatial dimensions and the time one. I.e., she makes and takes shortcuts through spacetime, though it takes her some subjective time to arrive somewhere there's not much subjective distance (in time or space) involved with the shortcuts that she knows. If she needs to take passengers, the process is more or less the same, plus a bubble. Technically, she can navigate the way while under observation, but she needs her khaverenah to make the gate and her connections as buoys. Doing it under observation (with those powers suppressed) cuts off her ability to mold spacetime.
* [[SelfDuplication Phant]][[DroneDeployer asms]] Projections of Matten's aura, from CombatTentacles to Doppelgängers to simply cloaking herself in aura in the shape of a wrecking ball. That said, she has one mind to control them all, and the more she does, the less focused she can be on any one thing.

* Holy Halo: A perfect black body [[note]]in the physics sense[[/note]], and quite visible, but hving a halo doesn't get Matten as much pull as one thinks.

* RenaissanceWoman: She's picked up more skills than she lets on during her time on Earth.
