* HandWave: While it's known the transference aspect of One For All came from Yoichi, it's never explained where the stockpile came from. The individual originally born with the stockpile quirk and how All For One stole it, is glossed over. All For One himself seems to have somehow taken the place of the Stockpile individual in the MindHive that exists between the twin Quirks, albeit with a weaker connection than the direct successors. He is vaguely aware of changes within One For All starting to pass the Quirk Singularity whilst still imprisoned in Tartarus, and when Tomura and Izuku engage in combat, their Quirks 'resonate' enabling Izuku and the Vestiges to see glimpses of the BattleInTheCentreOfTheMind All For One is having with Tomura.

* EveryoneHasStandards: He's a hardcore AntiHero who thinks Midoria's idealism is impractical for the task they'll have to face, and has killed enemies in the past as part of his resistance against All For One, but even he didn't have it in him to coldly excuse Yoichi when they discovered him sealed in the vault under his brother's "protective" care. When All For One impulsively killed Yoichi in a moment of anger, he and Kudo are shown to be [[KinslayingIsASpecialKindOfEvil equally affected by the act]], with All For One falling into a stone-faced VillainousBSOD as contrasted to Kudo's own look of shock and disgust at him, with tears forming in his eyes.

* RequiredSecondaryPowers: Literally. Contrary to All For One's belief at the time, Yoichi did have a Quirk; the power to bestow a Quirk to others, except he needed another Quirk in the first place to pass on. Once All For One gave him a Stockpiling Quirk out of spite, this enabled him to use his own Quirk.

* SuperEmpowering: A limited version. His initial Quirk allowed him to transfer his abilities and his consciousness to another person.

* TranquilFury: Isn't very thrilled to see his elder brother in the vestige world, and isn't fazed when he watches All For One trying to manipulate Tomura. He coolly rebuts All For One's insults about Midoriya while expelling him from One For All.

* ReallySevenHundredYearsOld: Somewhat. He actually died before he could live out a full natural lifespan thanks to All For One's possessive and destructive evil attachment to him, but is effectively "resurrected" within his Quirk by the present day, a whole nine generations later. It's further clarified that he and All For One were actually born a whole year before the Luminescent baby was officially documented by the world, meaning the pair of them may be the very first Quirk-users in history.

* ArchEnemy: Of all of the Torchbearers before All Might, Kudo was the one All For One despised the most. Not only was he a rebel leader against him, Kudo was the one to 'steal' Yoichi from him, leading to All For One killing Yoichi and learning his Quirk had been transferred to Kudo. All For One hates Kudo so much, seeing a resemblence in Bakugo drives him into a gigantic VillainousBreakdown and causes him to jeopardize his entire plan just to try and kill him out of pure hatred He even admits his hatred of him is much more instinctive and primal than his animosity towards All Might, which has its roots in how [[NeverMyFault he refuses to admit his culpability in Yoichi's death]] in favour of blaming Kudo.

* HadToBeSharp: Bruce implies that his more pragmatic approach comes from the high stakes the rebellion faced when fighting All For One. Given that the image of his death implied he stepped up as the leader of their Rebel movement in the aftermath of Kudo's death, it's given further context as to why he feels this way, especially sicne his own efforts couldn't do anything to halt All For One's vengeful rampage.
* ImpaledWithExtremePrejudice: All For one killed him this way, apparently using the horn Quirk he stole from his mother.
* LastStand: He apparently died doing this along with the rest of Kudo's Revel movement when All For One came for them next in search of One For All (and also further petty vengeance against Kudo's memory). He's shown to be impaled in the gut by the arch-villain standing amidst the bodies of his deceased comrades, though he was apparently [[DoNotGoGentle the last to go down fighting]]. Given Shinomori's tactics of hiding from All For One, it's further implied the battle was to by time for Bruce's successor to successfully escape and evade All For one's maniac searching for his brother's essence.

* UnPerson: Downplayed, All Might scratch out his cause of death, dying of old age at 40, as All Might wasn't so sure about it and didn't want to worry Izuku.

* FlingALightIntoTheFuture: Even more so than the other wielders. Hikage knew he had no chance against All For One. So he spent the 18 years he had the Quirk training in order to strengthen it to give his successors a fighting chance.

* TheHermit: Since he was no match for All For One, Shinomori retreated to a forest and lived there for 18 years, cultivating One For All. He is the only One For All user who was not killed by All For One (with the possible exception of [[EvenEvilHasLovedOnes his brother]]). Daigoro teases him about this, calling him a weirdo.

* DisappointedInYou: Expresses his great dismay to Kudo about how his brother squandered his own Quirk and corresponding potential to be a decent person. All For One had such a great capacity to do good with his power, and instead chose to inflict suffering by taking everything he could get his hands one. If All For One had ever thought for even a second about helping somebody else, then countless lives could have been saved.

Out of desperation due to being overpowered by the villain [[Anime/MyHeroAcademiaHeroesRising Nine]], Midoriya decided to pass One For All onto Bakugo in order to split the power between them and work on the last embers by himself until he loses it like All Might before him. After Nine's defeat, however, it's revealed that One For All wasn't truly passed on and that Midoriya would still keep the original Quirk whilst Bakugo would lose One For All himself as well as his memories of obtaining it.

* DeadlyUpgrade: Averting this is implied to be the reason One For All [[StatusQuoIsGod transferred back to Midoriya]] after the fight with Nine was finished. Thanks to their increasing sapience within One For All's core, the vestiges were made aware of the effect possessing the additional quirk had on natural quirk-holders, and that Bakugo becoming its permanent wielder would be a short-lived succession, hence their willpower enabled One For All to pass back to the 'suitable' host.
* {{Foreshadowing}}: When All Might explained the rules of quirk transference, he stated the only conditions were that the recipient had to have consumed a piece of the previous holder's DNA and the previous holder could one-sidedly will the quirk onto them, even if the next holder was unwilling to receive it. He never mentioned anything about the new holder being capable of performing the same process in reverse once they'd fully assimilated all of One For All, namely because such a situation hadn't occurred before then. As Izuku transferred One For All to Bakugo through mixing their blood through the wounds on their hands sustained from the fight, a piece of Bakugo's DNA was inside Izuku as well, and since Bakugo was unwilling to receive the quirk in such a fashion from his rival, he rejected One For All subconsciously once the fight was done, allowing the power to transfer back to him. It's also implied the vestiges within One For All aided in the process, aware that Bakugo becoming the next holder would have negative consequences for him.
* LaserGuidedAmnesia: After their victory, Bakugo lost all memory of obtaining One For All, albeit bewildered why his arms are now suddenly injured.
* LoopholeAbuse: One For All returning to Izuku is something that All Might didn't think was possible, but as Izuku and Bakugo's bodies both held a piece of the other's DNA through mixing their blood from their open wounds together, Bakugo was able to reverse the transference by his subconscious rejection of the power once he became the new holder, allowing it to be sent back to Izuku. All the prior wielders had either one-sidedly passed their DNA samples onto their successors or had perished shortly afterwards, so two wielders having the same conditions to pass the quirk between them was a situation that hadn't occurred before then.
* UnskilledButStrong: As opposed to using One For All to physically enhance his blows, Bakugo mainly utilized the power boost to augment his explosions to overpower Nine, proving capable of unleashing blasts capable of devastating the landscape with sheer raw power.

* MagikarpPower: When it was first created, the Quirk was really weak. However, after eight generations of extensive cultivation, it has stockpiled monstrous amounts of strength and evolved into one of the most powerful Quirks in existence. Around the time of the ninth generation (Izuku Midoriya), the Quirk fully manifested the paranormal ability to interact with the "ghosts" of previous wielders. Additionally, One For All absorbs the Quirks of ''all'' its wielders and stores them within its core. When Midoriya became the ninth user, One For All accumulated enough energy to cause the dormant Quirks to manifest within him.

* AmbiguouslyRelated: He bears a physical resemblance to Bakugo both in his looks and his costume. In addition, he exhibits AntiHero tendencies that clash with Midoriya's ideals, similar to Bakugo early on. Finally, when Bakugo and All For One properly clash against each other in Chapter 405, All For One gets a brief glimpse of the Second Wielder, suggesting that the Second Wielder may have been one of Bakugo's relatives or even an ancestor.

* NoNameGiven: Along with the third user, his name has not yet been given despite an adequate amount of screentime. He ends up with the most behind Yoichi and Nana too, making it especially odd. His family name is ''finally'' revealed at the end of Chapter 406 by a raging All For One.
* TheLastOfTheseIsNotLikeTheOthers: All the wielders from the present day going back to the first holder, who was basically quirkless, lack combat-related quirks. The only exception is the 2nd Wielder and the 3rd Wielder, who both have quirks directly related to combat (Gearshift, to make projectiles more dangerous, and Fa Jin, to allow someone to store and release lots of physical force). This is fitting, since unlike the others they were both members of a rebel group that had to explicitly kill adversaries as they made their way to confront All For One at the height of his power.

* NoNameGiven: His name has not yet been given despite an adequate amount of screentime.

* IdenticalStranger: Yoichi bears a strong semblance to Tomura Shigaraki since they both have a slender build as well as similar hairstyles. All For One even bestowed upon Tomura his own claimed family name when giving him a MeaningfulRename, further drawing parallels to Yoichi, who was similarly "named" in such a way to mark his as All For One's first possession. TheReveal that All For One killed Yoichi in an emotional outburst at his brother's rejection of his evil ways and left behind only his severed hand as a memento of him further implies that All For One is intentionally trying to Hold Tomura in his brother's image, to become the "yoichi" he wanted by his side. This gives further creepy undertones to his singular focus on assimilating Tomura's personality to "become" him as his Perfected Demon Lord self.

** The 3rd user is shown cautioning Izuku mid-fight to make careful use of his powers, and not rush in blindly, aka, biding his time and waiting for the opportune moment to strike, like [[ChargedAttack Fa Jin.]]

* IdenticalStranger: Yoichi bears a strong semblance to Tomura Shigaraki since they both have a slender build as well as similar hairstyles. They even share the same surname as well. However, Yoichi doesn't have scars around his eyes and is a person of integrity. He also has been dead for decades, existing as a vestige within One For All, and Midoriya is the only living person who can talk to him.

* MeaningfulName: His given name, Yoichi, contains the character for "one" (''ichi''), combined with the character for "giving" (''yo''), indicating both his status as the first holder of One For All, as well as the nature of his Quirk.

* NoNameGiven: In chapter 237, his family name is revealed to be Shigaraki, but his first name is not mentioned. Chapter 310 finally reveals his first name: Yoichi.

* TheEveryman: In contrast to his successors, or basically everybody else in the world around him when he was alive, a combination of Yoichi's frail body and his quirk being non-functional for direct combat, to the point he was thought to be quirkless at first, meant that Yoichi was at best an average human being in a world of superhumans, or perhaps even weaker than that. This didn't stop him from staunchly opposing All For One at every turn, no matter how futile his efforts at the time, nor his tale serving to inspire his future successors to carry on the fight in his stead. This makes him quite similar to [[UnSorcerer Midoriya]] at the start of the series.

* MirrorCharacter: A flashback towards the end of the series shows that not only do he and Izuku have near-identical personalities, but very similar upbringings, albeit with Yoichi's admittedly being even harsher. They were both weak hangers-on for brother figures (All For One and Bakugo respectively) with amazingly powerful Quirks who harshly bullied them in return, but with whom they also shared some more "geeky" interests as children (comics and hero trading cards). The most succinct example of their similarities is when Yoichi stands up to his brother after the latter killed multiple anti-meta-people militia members in a display of defiance that's nearly identical with the series' opening scene of Izuku standing up to Bakugo for bullying some poor kid.

** A power that can be passed from another that is weak from the start but as time passes, it grows stronger. Also the current user has a green and black motif that unlocks his individual moveset as times goes on and at same time those moves can get stronger by continuous usage by the user? It's also a shoutout from ''Franchise/BlazBlue'' particular from Susanoo, the game's {{Final Boss}}. He is also voiced by Kenta Miyake who is also the voice actor of All Might.
