* NiceHat: Wears a fedora. One of Julia's memories remarks that he got it after they watched old gangster movies, and he liked it so much that she was sure he'd never take it off. Indeed, the hat remains on his ghost, despite not wearing the hat when he died.

He's the lead detective for the Bell Killer case, and was the one to demote and remove Baxter from it. After the Bell Killer strikes at the church, Rex has Joy put into his car and he drives off, taking her into custody.

* BigBrotherInstinct: Never mentioned if he's the younger or older brother of Julia, but Julia and Rex both remark that he was incredibly protective of her. Not only because he was a cop, but also because of her mental disorder.

The Bell Killer is a serial murderer that has been plaguing the streets of Salem. It was originally believed to just be a string of random killings, as there was no clear pattern to his murders, until they realized that a bell was generally found drawn on the corpse -- hence the title.\\
