* BigDamnHeroes: She gets two of the most dramatic ones:

After freeing them, she turns full fury on Kumi, as punishment for attacking other students for the sake of a duel. Haruko spares her life and learns that Kumi was also a victim, having been mind-controlled by [[spoiler: Kamigari]].

The protagonist of ''Maken-ki!'', who's recently enrolled at Tenbi Academy with his childhood friend, Haruko Amaya. Since he's new at the academy, he's struggling to adjust to how things work, such as their duelling system, where his predisposition to protect girls rubs the other students the wrong way, when he interfers. Which might be easier for them to forgive, if he also wasn't a pervert.

* DeadpanSnarker: Seen at different points in both the manga and the anime. Such as his respnse to Uruchi, when she bluntly told him how she felt about being assigned to work with him in episode 5.

** But chapter 69 presents an unsettling example, which shows he and Usui are have no problem with girls being raped, so long as it's done by another girl. Their only regret wasmnot being there to see it.

* MartialPacifist: Haruko will go out of her way to avoid a serious confrontation if it can be helped. Such as when she initially refused to fight Demitra, despite the latter having used her [[BloodMagic Life Suction ability]] on her. It took the threat of harm to her friends to finally [[http://www.mangatown.com/manga/maken_ki/c020/15.html make her draw Murakumo from its sheath.]] Even then, at the end of the battle, [[http://www.mangatown.com/manga/maken_ki/c020/28.html Haruko still spared her life]] because [[AllLovingHero she regarded Demitra as a friend.]]

* SuperSpeed: During their battle in chapter 19, Demitra gauged Haruko's speed to be [[http://www.mangatown.com/manga/maken_ki/c019/16.html equal to Yan-Min]], which meant she was [[http://www.mangatown.com/manga/maken_ki/c020/4.html faster than Demitra.]]

Despite winning the match, [[spoiler: Tesshin]] realized he hadn't changed, so [[http://www.mangatown.com/manga/maken_ki/c046/22.html he left Inaho with Atsuma.]]

* ChildhoodFriends: She remembers Takeru from [[http://www.mangatown.com/manga/maken_ki/c059/9.html the time they spent together]], as children

** In the manga, she didn't actually say she'd marry him. She admits that [[http://www.mangatown.com/manga/maken_ki/c059/16.html it was simply an idea]] she latched onto, since he told her he'd stay with her forever.

* GracefulLoser: Once Takeru finally recalls their promise, Inaho [[http://www.mangatown.com/manga/maken_ki/c059/18.html fully confesses her feelings for him.]] But as his heart was already set on Haruko, he apologizes for breaking his word to her. She's accompanied by her three shikigami, who serve as her familiars and are the primary source of her power, given the state of her existence. As a result, she's unable to go beyond the Tenbi area's Element rich environment, unless she has a Magatama. To everyone else, however, she's the flatchested, twin-tailed goddess of the school.

* AttemptedRape: Her [[spoiler: own uncle]] used it [[BatmanGambit as a ploy]] to humiliate her and to enrage Takeru, by doing it [[http://www.mangatown.com/manga/maken_ki/c055/18.html right in front of him.]] Takeru took the bait and charged straight into [[spoiler: Takeru Yamato]]'s attack, but he survived the blast and [[http://www.mangatown.com/manga/maken_ki/c055/23.html saved Himegami.]]

Without her Orochi blood, the seal atop Amanohara cannot be broken, making her crucial to [[NebulousEvilOrganization Kamigari's]] plans. But, if need be, she can also summon Nozuchi (her earth elemental) who has power over trees, plants, and has [[http://www.mangatown.com/manga/maken_ki/c054/19.html the ability to heal her.]] Himegami is so adept with them that she's rarely ever had to use her Maken.

** She was persuaded to forgive Aililu and Lilu for their part in [[http://www.mangatown.com/manga/maken_ki/c016/5.html abducting her]], with the promise of being [[http://www.mangatown.com/manga/maken_ki/c016/6.html allowed to have "Tei-chan".]]

* HeroicSacrifice: Done to save Takeru from what would've been a fatal attack from [[spoiler: [[http://readpanda.net/Maken-ki/56/23/ Takeru Yamato]]]]. In her final moments, she understood why her parents and her brother had willing sacrificed themselves ''for her'', and [[spoiler: [[GoOutWithASmile smiled as her metaphysical body]] [[http://readpanda.net/Maken-ki/56/25/ dissipated into nothingness]]]].
* IDidWhatIHadToDo: In the end, she was left with no choice but to kill Ouken, which left her [[http://www.mangatown.com/manga/maken_ki/c053/21.html filled with sadness.]] When Leo tries to congratulate her, she shrugs off his touch and [[http://www.mangatown.com/manga/maken_ki/c053/22.html expresses remorse]] at having to take someone else's life.

** Takeru also pervs on her, in the manga, where he actually paused in the middle of a battle with [[spoiler: Ouken Yamato]] [[http://www.mangatown.com/manga/maken_ki/c049/21.html to look at her ass]], when he noticed the back of her skirt was torn. But it proved to be a false allegation, since Ouken is the actual culprit and needs Himegami's [[spoiler: [[http://www.mangatown.com/manga/maken_ki/c033/22.html Orochi blood]]]] so he can break the seal, himself.

* MsFanservice: For all the jokes about her chest, she's [[http://www.mangatown.com/manga/maken_ki/c080/ the series' front-runner]] due to the sheer number of fanservice related tropes that apply to her.

* PeerlessLoveInterest: To Usui, considering she's not only one of the hottest girls at Tenbi, she's royalty on top of being a demi-goddess. Takeru found that once he took them off, his body felt much lighter and that he'd become faster. So he decided to keep them on, eventually becoming so fast that the extra weight was no longer an issue.

But his outlook changed once [[spoiler: Himegami]] sacrificed her life to save him from [[spoiler: Takeru Yamato]].
