* CombatPragmatist: He'll do anything to win, including piercing his enemy with a magic bolt while being turned their back to him, strangling them when disguised as their ally and even using his own apprentice as a bait.
* InTheBack: How The Beast kills him the first time. He gets better.
* PoliticallyIncorrectHero: He calls Prince Waldorf a "pussy".
* SinisterScythe: After he killed Death, he started to carry his significant weapon.
* SirSwearsALot: It's safe to say he swears as much as he drinks.
