* {{Tritagonist}}: He's the only member of the original Avengers besides Cap and Tony who got his own film trilogy, and several elements from his films (like Loki, who worked for Thanos, and the first appearance of an Infinity Gauntlet) are important to the greater MCU. Until ''Guardians of the Galaxy'', he was the main link connecting the Earth heroes to the Cosmic part of the MCU.

He almost gets as much focus as Cap and Tony, but not quite more, making him firmly the Tritagonist out of the three.

Rm, see this thread.

* WorldsBestWarrior: Thor is the greatest warrior among the god-like Asgardians after Odin has retired and is one of the best warriors in the universe, with centuries of training and combat experience. He is the best fighter among the Avengers and can handle the stronger Hulk with superior combat prowess. In both ''Avengers'' and ''Age of Ultron'' he is unfazed by the fighting and takes down the most amount of enemies, with only Ultron's vibranium form giving him some pause in an inconclusive fight. He also handily overpowers Iron Man and Captain America while severely holding back, defeats Loki, stalemates the Hulk (again, while holding back), and takes part in the team attack that cripples Vibranium Ultron. In his debut appearance he wrecks an entire army of Frost Giants, defeats the Destroyer, who Sif and the Warriors Three can't beat together, and wipes the floor with Loki while holding back as he doesn't want to kill him. In ''The Dark World'' he takes out a Kronan brute that the collective armies of both sides feared, one-shots Malekith who had previously shown himself capable of taking down multiple elite Asgardian warriors in seconds with just a knife, and even defeats Malekith after he tries to enhance himself with the Aether. In ''Ragnarok'', Thor is weaker than Hela, but is able to hold her own against her for a sustained battle and inflict what would've been a lethal wound if not for her regeneration, and is in good enough shape afterwards to kill her remaining army more or less singlehandedly. Keep in mind that Hela literally killed the entire army of Asgard alone in about a minute. Then in ''Infinity War'', while he loses to Thanos and the Black Order off-screen, once he gets his hands back on a proper Uru weapon he's ale to defeat the physically superior Mad Titan in practically a SingleStrokeBattle - after killing his remaining army. Even after getting out of shape and not fighting for 5 years, in ''Endgame'', he is able to fight Thanos better than most of his fellow heroes and came very close to killing him.

* HumongousHeadedhammer: In keeping with its comic book portrayal, Mjolnir's head is a solid brick of uru metal about 10 inches wide and 5 inches thick, on a haft not much longer than Thor's forearm. It is, of course, an explicitly magical weapon wielded by a SufficientlyAdvancedAlien, so it's easy to wield... unless Odin's spell causes it to deem one unworthy, in which case it immediately becomes even heavier than it ought to be.

* AdaptationalAngstUpgrade: He still has moments of levity, but here Asgard was destroyed decades earlier before his banishment to Earth and he seems to have been the only survivor.
* InSpiteOfANail: It happened decades earlier, but Thor still joins the Avengers while suffering the loss of Asgard.
* SoleSurvivor: Appears to have been the only survivor of Asgard.

* BarbarianLonghair: His usual look is a rugged beard and a mane of mussed golden hair. It's trimmed back in ''Ragnarok'', though. He grows it back during the five-year time skip in ''Endgame,'' though this may be less about regaining his original look than being so depressed that he stops caring about his own hygiene, as he has crude dreads instead of his former flowing locks.

Just For Pun is a disambiguation

* LivingBattery: In a roundabout way, and an appropriately [[JustForPun literal one]]. Mjölnir's specific enchantment indicates that anyone worthy "shall possess the power of Thor", meaning that, presumably as long as he's around, anyone worthy of the hammer will have access to Thor's powers which is exactly what happens when Captain America wields it during ''Endgame''. In fact, since the hammer channels all of Thor's power, Steve, who is in his prime and is enhanced, makes better use of the power of Thor than Thor himself—being out of shape—does, at least during that movie.

* AwesomenessByAnalysis: A minor case in ''Age of Ultron'' as he's able to easily distinguish the mark on Ulysses Klaue's neck as a branding instead of a tattoo like Stark guesses.
