An AI created by Tony Stark and Bruce Banner based on an AI framework placed into the Mind Stone by Thanos as a backup in the event [[Film/TheAvengers2012 Loki's attack on New York]] failed. [[Film/AvengersAgeOfUltron Going rogue and attempting to destroy the world with a meteor, Ultron was defeated by the Avengers and seemingly killed by Vision]]. However, Ultron managed to preserve himself within Vision, briefly taking control after Thanos ripped the Mind Stone from Vision's head. Sometime later, Ultron [[UnexplainedRecovery somehow escaped]] and attempted an attack on Earth before being defeated by Wanda Maximoff, Vision, Pepper Potts, and Supergiant. Sometime later, Ultron encountered the Phalanx, taking over their hive mind before sending a body to Earth to aid Victor von Doom in the reconstruction of his ancestral home.
