They stick by their Master’s side always because he has done something that has earned their eternal respect and both hide the fact that they are competent fighters. They both have the same {{Epic Fail}} entry as well. Appearance-wise however, he is basically a male version of Yanagi Sakoshita.

* EvilCounterpart: To Jack of all people. [[spoiler: As a child, he was the bullied, cowardly and insecure kid that was constantly rescued and helped out by Alan. Unlike Jack who respects Ginta and goes out of his way to help him, [[spoiler: Halloween, or rather, Pump [[DontYouDarePityMe saw this as an insult]] and dedicated his his life to making Alan pay.]]

* NoNonsenseNemesis: In the anime, unlike his subordinates [[VillainBall who tend to toy with their enemies]], King goes for the kill every time that he needs to. [[spoiler: [[ShapeShifterGuiltTrip Unless he can use his host's true face as Danna to emotionally weaken his targets to let their guard down.]] This is best shown when he [[spoiler: [[DroppedABridgeOnHim kills Dorothy when she was exhausted from her fight with Diana and her guard was down without even announcing his presence.]]

Case in point with his fight with Ali Baba, where Allan destroyed his weapon and cheerfully dragged him along and dropped him into an active volcano while the man was helpless and begging for his life.

And once he was ejected out of Ginta's father's body, Ginta easily overpowers him in his true form and easily kills him with Gargoyle in one blow.]] The anime has King being a HeroKiller and NoNonsenseNemesis who manages to [[spoiler: cause the deaths of all, but two of Team MÄR with ease.]] [[spoiler: And his true form, he was a threat to both Mar-Heaven and Ginta's world- managing to kill all, but Jack, Ian, Loco, Chaton Gido and Ginta with the rest of Team Mär and named Chess Pieces- reformed or otherwise- all dying at his hands in increasingly cruel ways, causing Ginta to unlock a GoldenSuperMode specifically to take him down once and for all.]]

* LightisNotGood: He doesn’t have light magic but his color scheme fits this. He even has angel wings when he uses a Guardian ÄRM.

* DarkIsNotEvil: In spite of looking like TheGrimReaper with his tongue sticking out and having a CastingAShadow Arm, has an Arm that allows him to have a ghostlike body that can split itself and a creepy Guardian Arm with four SinisterScythe limbs. However, he's genuinely one of the nicer members of the Knights and Chess Pieces overall.
