They were both introduced in the "Human Realm" arc, yet while Cross wasn't of much importance when he was introduced, Gus G. was a major supporting player in helping Willow return home. Afterward, the boys ended up with SwappedRoles; Gus's prominece would put him a bit more OutOfFocus as Book 2 continued on while Cross would end up getting sucked into everyone's drama and receiving some of his own.

Like with Robbie, both are talented musicians who specialize in guitar, with these two also being dissatisfied with their home lives and wanting to escape them. Both have also been attracted to girls who were lesbians (Casey had a crush on Nina and was shot down when he tried to kiss her, Gus briefly had an attraction to Vee but was told of her orientation before he could develop deeper feelings for her.)
