They also consistently reminded him that he was the Devil and is therefore evil, with all of this suggesting that before the series began Lucifer was in fact a monstrous person. However this was never actually shown to be true, with Lucifer instead only being shown to be self absorbed and selfish before CharacterDevelopment began to change that.
