Bokukko is now def-only

* {{Bokukko}}: Fittingly for her tomboyish personality, she refers to herself using the male Japanese pronoun "Boku".

! IV KLORE
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/iv_klore_logo.png]]
[[caption-width-right:350:Come play, Creatures of Folklore]]
A group composed entirely of demihumans, they take full advantage of their unique talents and features for some literally inhuman feats on-stage.
----
[[foldercontrol]]
[[folder:In General]]
* AbsurdlyDividedSchool: They are Noire rank.
* AlternateCharacterReading: They're fond of this for their songs, as with [[https://youtu.be/gr1TRtg3R2k "禁忌の寓話 (メルヘン)"]] where the latter half is read as "Marchen" than "Guren".
* AmusingInjuries: Thanks to their SuperToughness, few things are capable of seriously injuring them and violence is frequently used as a gag. Some examples include α trying to slap Salsa awake after Lynnette casts a sleep spell on her or the frequent [[DopeSlap Dope Slaps]] Emilia frequently hands out to α when she annoys her. It should be noted this is strictly limited to within their group as any regular human is getting sent to the infirmary, at least.
* ChildhoodFriends: Emilia, α, and Salsa were all friends long before they enrolled in the academy.
* CleavageWindow: Present in all of their stage outfits.
* DarkIsNotEvil: Despite their villainous powers like Energy Drain (Emilia), the danger they pose to others due to their supernatural strength and speed (Salsa), or how unsettling and creepy they can be (Garnet and α), they are unquestionably good guys just like the rest of the units, and train to protect and inspire the people and other witches. In fact, Eliza praises them for embracing this and using it as their group's unique hook in the ''Our Prelude'' manga.
* DarkMagicalGirl: An entire group of them. Their stage costumes and special effects deliberately play this up with motifs like thorned roses, chains, and the lyrics that oftentimes reference horror and supernatural mythology and literature.
* ElegantGothicLolita: Deliberately {{Invoked}} as their main aesthetic along with being twists on classic "horror" monsters like werewolves, demons, and ghosts, to set them apart from other witch units.
* FantasticRacism: It's heavily implied that they suffer from this as demi-humans, due to the numerous dangers they pose to regular humans. In ''Our Prelude'', Camilla orders them to investigate rumors of a ghost causing trouble in Flora Girls' Academy in order to protect the reputation of demi-humans as a whole.
* FlowerMotifs: Roses. Their stage outfits have at least one red rose as accessories and some of the stages they've performed on feature red and purple roses as decorations. The flower has a prominent role in many classic fairy tales, such as Literature/SleepingBeauty, in line with their theme of horror, mythology, and monsters. It could also be alluding to the fact that no matter how cute/beautiful many of them are, as demihumans and witches, they are ''dangerous.''
* GratuitousEnglish: Their song [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lCMPUzgiETI "Midnight Sapphire"]] is both explicitly spelled in English and has numerous English words in it.
* GratuitousForeignLanguage: [[https://youtu.be/gr1TRtg3R2k "禁忌の寓話 (メルヘン)"]] ("Forbidden Fairytale") features numerous Foreign languages like German (''märchen'')[[labelnote:*]] "Fable" or "Fairy Tale"[[/labelnote]], Latin (''psyche'')[[labelnote:*]]the mind or the soul[[/labelnote]] French (''raison d'être'')[[labelnote:*]]purpose or a reason to exist[[/labelnote]] and Spanish (''lamento'')[[labelnote:*]]lament[[/labelnote]].
* HorrifyingTheHorror: Emilia can make fully-grown, vicious black bears run away in terror with just a look. Garnet can turn the normally composed Emilia into a shivering, crying, frightened mess who loses almost all control.
* NoSell: They are all immune to Emilia's [[VampiricDraining Energy Drain]] which can nigh-instantly render someone unconscious to outright killing them. Salsa has also been shown to be unaffected by ingesting poisonous mushrooms and can easily share this information with her much more vulnerable human friends and classmates.
* OfCorsetsSexy: Their stage outfits prominently feature corsets worn on the outside of their dresses.
* OurDemonsAreDifferent: "Demi-human" is a catch-all term for numerous wildly different forms of human "subspecies" such as Succubus, Werewolves, Ghosts, Vampires, and even artificially constructed beings like enchanted dolls. They seem to originate from Dortdgard or made the center of their societies there.
* PunnyName: "Four Klore" = Folklore.
* SuperStrength: Except for Garnet, all of them have been shown or mentioned to have incredible strength far beyond that of normal humans, such as Salsa effortlessly uppercutting a Magical Monster several times larger than her straight into the atmosphere. During the bumpball match in Episode 3, all of them were capable of throwing a ball so hard it ricochets several times off the field's magic barriers without losing speed and forcing the rest of the players to duck for cover, catch and stop said ball (and with visible smoke from the friction, at that), or powering their way through a thick wall made of enchanted and intertwined grass.
* SuperToughness: As a result of their nature as Demi-Humans or their incredibly high-quality construction, they are extremely resilient to physical damage and immune to their more dangerous quirks like Emilia's Energy Drain.

[[folder:Emilia]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/emilia_5.png]]
[[caption-width-right:350:Hmph. Don't you ''dare'' come near me, you pervert.]]
!!!'''Voiced by:''' Hazuki Hoshino
-->'''Country of Origin''': Dortdgard\\
'''Age''': 16\\
'''School Club''': Public Morals Committee

The leader of IV KLORE, Emilia is a succubus of class, a proper Dortdgard lady, and a high-achiever.
----
* TheAce: The best singer of their group and thus their leader.
* ChildhoodFriends: With Camilla of Ray. However, it was Salsa who became Camilla's apprentice.
* DoesNotLikeMen: As a succubus from a prominent noble family, one has to imagine she received no shortage of unwanted attention from men which led to her current misandry.
* DopeSlap: Frequently hands these out to α when she annoys her or intentionally riles her up in some way.
* EmptyEyes: When she drains the life energy from someone, her victims' bodies go limp and we get a shot of these as well.
* HatesBeingTouched: Because she might accidentally kill you if you do, if you're not another demi-human.
* HiddenDepths: She loves wholesome romance ''manga'', especially about witches. It's heavily implied this is why she joined the Public Morals Committee and wishes to "regulate" romances between her school mates.
* IceQueen: Thanks to her noble upbringing, her perfectionism, and her less than ideal history with men, Emilia has grown up to be a very aloof, proper, and harsh individual. She also frequently accuses those who annoy, disgust, or offend her of being perverts, something she considers a very strong insult.
* PowerIncontinence: She has no control over her Energy Drain ability, accidentally sucking the life out of anyone that she touches or who touches her. The only exceptions are other demi-humans.
* ProperlyParanoid: Downplayed. She develops this after Garnet is recruited into IV KLORE, unsurprisingly because of the latter's tendency to stalk her and use her {{Intangibility}} to avoid detection.
* RedEyesTakeWarning: While she's not outright evil nor violent, it's dangerous for humans to touch her because of her uncontrollable Energy Drain that can easily kill someone (and almost ''has'', on several occasions. She's also got incredible strength and resilience and can easily severely injure someone.
* ShelteredAristocrat: Similar to Tiara and Yue, she has less-than-ideal social skills due to being isolated and sheltered by her aristocratic family.
* {{Tsundere}}: Likely as a result of her noble upbringing and her being forced to (physically and socially) keep a distance from others, Emilia has trouble expressing her honest emotions and being vulnerable around others. In the anime, she clearly sympathizes with Tiara's plight as a fellow leader but struggles to treat her with anything other than polite, almost cold professionalism.
* VampiricDraining: Her "Energy Drain" spell lets her suck the life out of anyone who isn't a demi-human--intentionally or not.

[[folder: α (Alpha)]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/alpha_24.png]]
[[caption-width-right:350:I am a top-of-the-line magidoll. If it would please you, will you let me serve you?]]
!!!'''Voiced by:''' Tomomi Mineuchi
-->'''Country of Origin''': Dortdgard\\
'''Age''': 16 (mentally)\\
'''School Club''': Tea Research
A highly advanced magidoll, indistinguishable from other demi-humans. She is quite fond of her mistress Emilia and is attending Flora Girls' Academy to continue serving her. Allegedly due a flaw in her "Linguistics Systems", she can be quite snarky and blunt.
----
* ArtificialHuman: She is a highly advanced magidoll that's so well-made she's indistinguishable from other humans.
* BrutalHonesty: Due to having NoSocialSkills, she tends to speak rather bluntly. She has no issues in trying to tell Garnet that the latter is dead, and often winds up drawing Emilia's ire as a result.
* EmotionlessGirl: As befitting the European ideals for servants, α barely shows much in the way of emotions except for mild annoyance and snark towards her mistress, Emilia. She ''does'' smile in amusement whenever she witnesses the normally calm and cool Emilia losing it in fear and if someone is deemed a sufficient threat to her or her friends, she can look absolutely terrifying and intimidating.
* GratuitousGreek: In English subs, her name is spelled with the small Greek letter α.
* JackBauerInterrogationTechnique: She decides to break the haunted doll Marianne's legs if she doesn't tell her the truth, all in her usual calm deadpan.
* {{Magitek}}: She's presumed to be made of this.
* NoSocialSkills: She speaks incredibly bluntly and objectively without any consideration for tact, fittingly enough for someone who's essentially a magic-powered robot with a faulty "Linguistic System". For example, when Emilia is inside their tree-tent and clearly shivering in fear, α advises her to go outside before she soils herself.
* RobotMaid: She was created to be this for Emilia but still considers herself to be her friend as well.
* PrehensileHair: Her hair can rapidly grow, extend, and act much like a hand if she needs it to. They also have a variety of other functions such as growing so thin they can slice through pineapples, braiding together and spinning like a drill, can be set on fire if need be, and is more than strong enough for demolition work during a DungeonBypass.
* SeriousBusiness: She treats tea and tea drinking much more seriously than she probably should.
* ServileSnarker: Despite serving Emilia from a very young age, she is frequently incredibly blunt, insensitive, and outright mean to her mistress. Episode 6 reveals she enjoys seeing her terrified, calling it her "cute side".
* TrademarkFavoriteFood: In as much as an artificial being can be said to have a favorite food, she's extremely fond of black teas.
* {{Troll}}: She is shown to enjoy riling up and scaring Emilia for her own amusement.
* WhenSheSmiles: It's very subtle but seeing an absolutely terrified Emilia clinging to her in fear makes the normally emotionless α smile.
* YoungerThanSheLooks: She's got the mental age of a 16-year-old but how long it has been since she was created is currently unknown.

[[folder:Salsa]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/salsa_6.png]]
[[caption-width-right:350:Wa-fufu...! I'm not a dog, I'm a wolf, don't you know?]]
!!! '''Voiced by:''' You Sasahara
-->'''Country of Origin''': Dortdgard\\
'''Age''': 13\\
'''School Club''': Track & Field
The ace of the Track & Field club, Salsa is highly energetic and cheerful. Being a werewolf, she innately has incredible super-speed-and-strength. She is roommates and friends with Kaede despite being from different countries and units.
----
* TheAce: Of the Track & Field club.
* AttentionDeficitOohShiny: She appears to be this, as evidenced by the fact that Lavie was able to easily distract her during a bumpball match by pointing to the sky and claiming to see a flying pig. This allows Lavie to score an easy point on her. She is also never seen sitting still, constantly moving her legs, her chair, or otherwise being incredibly active.
* TheBabyOfTheBunch: The youngest and most child-like of her group. Alongside her roommate Kaede, she is also the youngest of the named cast at 13.
* {{Bokukko}}: Fittingly for her tomboyish personality, she refers to herself using the male Japanese pronoun "Boku".
* {{Catchphrase}}: In the game continuity, "I'm not a dog, I'm a wolf!"
* CuteBruiser: She is ''exceptionally'' strong and sturdy. She is also absolutely adorable and childish.
* CuteLittleFangs: As part of her being a werewolf, she always has at least one of her two prominent canines visible when her mouth is open.
* [[DoesNotKnowHisOwnStrength Does Not Know Her Own Strength]]: She is a werewolf and thus has supernatural speed and strength. She's also so easily excitable and emotional that she frequently ends up destroying things by accident, such as breaking down Emilia's room door in her excitement to greet her.
* ExpressiveHair: Though she has regular human ears, her top two spikes can rise and move like a wolf's ears would.
* GenkiGirl: Very active and cheerful.
* InsistentTerminology: No matter how much she acts like an excitable puppy, she is not a ''dog'', she is a ''wolf.''
* NewTransferStudent: She was originally going to a magic school in her home country Dortdgard but ended up transferring to Flora Girls'.
* TheNoseKnows: Due to being a werewolf, her sense of smell is very acute. Because of this, Kaede enlists her to help track down Nadeshiko after the latter goes missing in the forest in Episode 4. She later attempts this with Maryberry in Episode 6, but Garnet's supernatural nature and her carrying Maryberry makes her lose the scent.
* OddFriendship: With Kaede, her roommate of the same age but from a different group. Kaede is an {{Ojou}} from Yamato and acts much more subdued and polite than Salsa but they get along well regardless.
* OurWerewolvesAreDifferent: She has yet to be shown to transform into a more monstrous form, though her messy hairstyle intentionally alludes to her having wolf ears.
* SpiritedCompetitor: Despite her incredible innate advantage over almost all her opponents thanks to her nature as a demi-human, she's an incredibly good sport, wishes her opponents well, and win or lose her enjoyment is in being challenged. The only thing she doesn't appreciate is someone using underhanded tricks.
* SuperHearing: As part of her werewolf powers, even in her humanoid form she has exceptional hearing, perfect for tracking missing persons alongside her nose.
* PintsizedPowerhouse: Despite her small stature, she can punch considerably above her weight.
* ThereWasADoor: She frequently, unknowingly busts through walls and breaks down doors in her excitement to get to people and places as quickly as possible. Wherever she goes, structural damage follows.
* TomboyWithAGirlyStreak: In spite of her love her sports, her use of male pronouns, and generally masculine behavior, Salsa has no problems donning a frilly dress and performing on stage.
* VerbalTic: "Wafufu...!" or just "Wafu!", a dog's barking and other similar noises which probably doesn't help her insistence that she's not a dog, she's a wolf.

[[caption-width-right:350:I've aaaaaallllllwwwaayyysss been watching you, don't you know?]]
!!! '''Voiced by:''' Yoko Nakayama
-->'''Country of Origin''': Dortdgard\\
'''Age''': 16 (assumed age at time of death)\\
'''School Club''': Drama
A ghost who is not aware of her already being dead, believes her ghostly attributes like phasing through walls is just magic, and is ironically afraid of other ghosts. She is also something of a hopeless romantic, trying to find her "One".
----
* AdaptationalBackstoryChange:
** ''Our Prelude''/Manga Continuity: Garnet is a ghost haunting Flora Girls' Academy. IV Klore discover her while on a mission from their mentor and idol, Camilla, and recruit her then.
** Anime Continuity: Garnet is inhabiting a HauntedHouse in the woods, kidnapping people in a misguided attempt to make friends. After she meets Emilia, she is recruited to IV Klore.
* ChillOfUndeath: She has this effect on anything she touches, as Emilia can attest.
* CuddleBug: Emilia is frequently the target of this behavior from her.
* CuteGhostGirl: She is a poltergeist. She's completely unaware of her death and nature as a spirit. For extra irony, she is terrified of anything involving ghosts and the supernatural.
* DeadAllAlong: She's the only one that doesn't realize she's a spirit.
* GhostAmnesia: She does not seem to remember the details of her death and assumes she's still alive; about the only memory she retains is her name. A healthy amount of self-justification and dismissal helps her keep the illusion.
* IJustWantToHaveFriends:
** ''Our Prelude''/Manga Continuity: As a result of her weak powers, she could not manifest to anyone except on full moons when demi-humans are strongest. She's been trying to befriend numerous students but her lack of awareness of how terrifying her ghost powers are (and that she's dead in the first place) has caused her constant failure. It wasn't until she met the other members of IV KLORE did she start growing enough power and presence to be seen.
** Anime Continuity: She manifested in a HauntedHouse in the woods and had been kidnapping people in a misguided attempt to make friends. Emilia convinces her to re-enroll in Flora Girls' Academy in order to make more friends.
* {{Intangibility}}: Unsurprisingly, as a ghost, she has this as an innate trait. However, she thinks that being able to do this is simply her magic which helps uphold her GhostAmnesia.
* IronicFear: She's a ghost who's terrified of other ghosts. She also doesn't like scary stories and other things related to horror which makes you wonder how she can perfectly go along with her group's main gimmick.
* NoSenseOfPersonalSpace: She is ''very'' fond of getting right up in people's faces, crawling up to them while they're on the ground or in bed, and making some very suspect faces at that. With Emilia in particular, she will frequently grab her shoulders, put her finger to her lips, and bring her face right up to hers, all while making some very ''interesting'' expressions.
* OurGhostsAreDifferent: Despite being a ghost, and thus having {{Intangibility}} as an innate trait, she can still physically interact with other people and objects. The latter is particularly notable in that they can phase with her so long as she's making direct contact, like when she brings in a tray full of tea and the living characters are seen interacting with it just fine.
* StalkerWithACrush: Some targets she stalks out of romantic interest alongside keeping a highly detailed notebook detailing her affections for them. (As of the time the bios were published, she's on her 44th volume.) In the anime, she calls Emilia "the only friend she needs" with some very suspicious facial expressions.
* StalkerWithoutACrush: She follows and watches most students in an attempt to get them to notice her and try to make friends. In the anime, she has a particular fondness for Emilia, constantly clinging to her and surprising her though honestly, the "Without" part is plenty ambiguous...
* TeamNormal: She ''thinks'' she's this, as the only "human" in a group of demi-humans.
* VerbalTic: "Nanodesu" which has no exact English equivalent and is often used as a "cute" sentence ender.
