* GentleGiant: He's noticeably taller than anyone else, and when not playing basketball, is actually rather lazy and easygoing despite what his intimidating appearance suggests. In fact, his lazy demeanor is at least partially to avoid injuring his opponents and teammates. [[DownplayedTrope That being said]], however, he isn’t without his own moments of cruelty: if he thinks an opponent is being too passionate about basketball, he ''will'' try to crush their spirit.

* OlderThanTheyLook: Due to his (comparatively) short height, big eyes, and childish features, he is very often mistaken for a kid. This would be even more UpToEleven [[VagueAge if he was born before Kise and the oldest of the Generation of Miracles]] but looks the youngest of them all. And even without taking that into account, he is still the youngest-looking of the entire first-year characters.

* VagueAge: A variation. While it's obvious that he's a first-year at the start of the story, it's unclear whether or not he's the oldest or the youngest member of the Generation of Miracles. He was born on January 31st, and because a school year in Japan doesn't start until April, it'd still be possible for him to be in the same year with the other 5 members despite being born a year later. However, it's also possible that for whatever reason, he was born before Kise (June 18th) but studied in the same year with the other 5 regardless. So, if he was born after Akashi (December 20th), he would be the youngest member, but if he was born before Kise, he would be the oldest member. However, the mangaka doesn't specify the year so it's difficult to determine.

** Kise, the first member introduced, is incredibly cocky but is quick to establish himself as a FriendlyRival with Kuroko and Kagami. Outside of their first practice match.
** Midiorima, the second member introduced, is considerably more [[ConsummateProfessional taciturn]]. He butts heads with Kagami because both their playstyles and personalities complete contrast but eventually accepts him as a WorthyOpponent.
** Aomine, the third member, is the first member to be outright antagonistic. He is incredibly arrogant and disrespectful to his own teammates. His team, Touou, is the first to deliver Seirin a crushing defeat in the series actually setting the true stage for the remainder of the series.
** Murasakibara, the fourth member, has a similar temperament to Aomine, only subbing unfettered arrogance with being a CavalierCompetitor. He's completely indifferent to the needs of his teammates and, when angered, actually goes out of his way to try and break the spirits of his opponents.
** Akashi, the final member, is ultimately the BigBad of the series. Suffering from a God complex and treating his teammates like his personal pawns.

* TookALevelInKindness: Interestingly this was largely independent of his finding Kuroko and Kagami to be [[WorthyOpponent Worthy Opponents]]. Kise starts off the series only finding those he considers a challenge to be worthy of respect, but the more time he actually spends playing with his new team at Kaijou, the more he values actual team play and realizes he wants to win for his team's sake rather than his own.

* JackOfAllStats: Compared to the other Miracles, Kise is this in regard to basketball. Aside from Special Ability maxed out which is the same as the other Miracles, Kise's stats are the second-highest in any of the categories (Physical Ability, Technique, Stamina, Mental Strength) meaning he does not specialize in any of them. As one of the Generation of Miracles, he is not the physically strongest/have the best physical ability(Murasakibara), physically fastest/have the best physical ability(Aomine), smartest/does not have the highest mental strength(Akashi) or the best shooter/have the best technique(Midorima), but he may be the most well-rounded player since he still has an above-average ability in all of those skills. His Perfect Copy could even serve as a compensation for this, as he uses another skill to make up for not being at the top in any of those skills. Then again, he is a small forward which is an all-rounder type of player and he said that he is fine with playing any position when he joined Kaijo.
