Utsuki's sister and Doman's daughter. She's ill and necessitate a special cure. However, she hides a terrible secret behind her real conditions...

* AdvancingBossOfDoom: During the last part of the Yang chapter, she slowly pursues Sakuya in a couple of locations. Thankfully, she isn't lethal and while she can be killed, it's just easier to avoid her. A document wrote by Doman boasts about her being NighInvulnerable.
* TheBadGuyWins: [[spoiler: She eventually manages to murder Utsuki and merge with her, effectively becoming the playable Utsuki. Subverted by the ending, which seems to imply that Utsuki's personality wasn't overcome.]]

Doryo!Kureha will attack again as you try to get away, but you can escape him by hiding inside the wicker chest.]]

* BlatantLies: When Sakuya enters the room in the Closet area where a Gaki ambushes her, someone locks the door behind her. After slaying the Gaki, Dokai will open the door and come in, but when questioned he claims he didn't see who locked the door. His first note found much later confirms that he was leading an "experiment" with the Gaki.
* BodyHorror: [[spoiler: By the time he's become infected, he looks deranged, his skin in unnaturaly pale and large patches of his flesh have rotten away.]]
* BreakTheHaughty: In the Yin Chapter he's mad with fear and run away screaming in terror when Utsuki approaches him. [[spoiler: Even in his boss battle he will pathetically crawl away on his back, casting spells.]]

* OhCrap: One of the Twins has one when [[spoiler: Abe no Seimei smacks him aside with one blow before putting two Demon-subduing spikes to the tree.]]
* SealedEvilInACan: The game mentions "demon-subduing spikes" multiple times and if one examines the Mulberry Tree in the mansion closely, three holes can be seen. [[spoiler: Doman found out that the spikes were used to keep the spirits sealed, and Seimei notices that the metal qi of the spikes is perfect to counter the wood qi of the Mulberry Spirits, and proceeds to recover the remaining spikes to seal the Mulberry Spirit forever.]]
* WouldHitAGirl: [[spoiler: When Seimei finds Sakuya, she's drenched in blood and visibly in pain, while the Twin stands nearby singing.]]

The Lord of the mansion, he has gone missing for some time, and his personal rooms are sealed and blocked. In truth, he has mutated in a grotesque form and is guarding the Bell in the northern pavillion.

* BodyHorror: Has rotting brownish skin, moves on all four like a grotesque spider and has a massive open wound in his neck. [[spoiler: After dying, Kureha slowly emerges from his neck gash.]]

* {{Foreshadowing}}: A spectral form of Fujiwara can be seen wandering Ayako's quarters and in the corridor leading to the sealed door to the northern pavillion.

* SealedEvilInACan: The only way to his rooms pass through a sealed door, with a warning written in blood just next to it.

The young lady of the manor, one of the last living survivors. She's afraid of the ghosts and hide away in her rooms.

* CreepyCentipedes: In her diary she mentions waking up inside the wicker box with a centipede beside her, and later claims that she feels "something" squirming and crawling under her skin. [[spoiler: When faced in combat, her neck twists and grows, revealing that she has a massive centipede in lieu of her spine.]]

* HorrorHunger: As she rot her appetite grew stronger and stronger. Ultimately she end up devouring her cat and her own son.
* SanitySlippage: As seen in her ApocalypticLog, she gradually goes mad with hunger. By the time her son checks on her, the worse happens.
* WrongGenreSavvy: She believes that Gaki won't enter a buddhist temple, but the Onmyoji hired to check things is sceptical.

* BarrierWarrior: [[spoiler: When in combat, he can protect himself with brigh oranges dome-shaped barriers when not attacking.]]
* BeardOfEvil: The only character with a visible goattee beard aside from Lord Fujiwara. No wonder he's the bad guy.

* BigBad: [[spoiler: While the Mulberry Spirits caused Kureha's death and revival to create another Mulberry tree, Doman decided to use the Kuon ritual as a way to regain status and respect and get even with Seimei, sacrificing countless innocents to his studies.]]
* CastingAShadow: [[spoiler: As a boss, he can occasionally cast a shadow spell on the ground to engulf Seimei and her summons.]]
* DrivenByEnvy: He's extremely envious of Seimei's status and powers. [[spoiler: To the point that he kickstarted the entire plot as a way to get back at her.]]
* EvilIsPetty: In his diaries he [[spoiler: cofesses he intends to prove his superiority to Seimei and have her whore herself to him.]]
* EvilSorcerer: Doman is a sinister-looking Onmyoji who express open contempt for Seimei. [[spoiler: He's also trying to use the Kuon curse to regain his prestige.]]

He even dies a KarmicDeath related to his pet project and, in a way, comes BackFromTheDead.]]

* KarmicDeath: [[spoiler: Not only is killed by his bitter rival Abe no Seimei, but Utsuki gets ahold of his body and uses it to complete the Kuon curse, reviving herself.]]
* KickTheDog: Near the end of both chapters, he drops the reveal that [[spoiler: either Kureha died and Utsuki is now merged with her or confirms to Sakuya that her co-disciples were only sacrifices for the Kuon.]]

* WhosLaughingNow: [[spoiler: The whole Kuon curse was meant to show those people in the capital that Doman is a powerful Onmyoji, not to be underestimated.]]

* BaldOfEvil: Whatever curse befell them, they lose any trace of facial hair and scalp hair.
* BodyHorror:Gaki, as per myth, are horrorifically skinny with oversized bloated bellies and creepy faces with costantly open eyes.
* TheGoomba: Since all encounters with ghosts are technically optional, Gaki are the most common enemies you can run into while exploring the Mansion and the surrounding area.

* {{Youkai}}: Gaki are ravenous youkai who will eat anything and whose presence cause hunger in all living things. In this game though they're more akin to zombies. Lady Fujiwara also speculates that Gaki cannot enter the buddhist temple, but she's wrong.

A creeping corpse-like monster entirely composed of flesh, with tentacles protunding from the back and a hint of a head poking from the front. A single specimen is locked away inside a closet.

* BodyHorror: A disgusting mass of flesh which crawls on the floor, sports vaguely human attributes and, judging from its noises, is in costant pain.
* BlobMonster: Ennyo is seemingly boneless, as it's first found cramped inside a closet but expands in a human-sized horror when fred, and melts down in a puddle of flesh when defeated.
* BloodyMurder: Ennyo's only attack consist in spewing a splash of blood from what's presumably its mouth.
* CombatTentacles: A set of shapeless appendages emerge from the Ennyo's back, but given how slow it is chances are you won't see them in action.

* GiantSpaceFleaFromNoWhere: One moment you're exploring one of the small rooms of the mansion,then you hear some muffled noises coming from a suspicious closet and all of sudden you're fighting a large mass of flesh spewing blood at you. Neither Sakuya nor Utsuki will comment upon.

* EliteMooks: They are slower than Gaki, but more resistant and hits harder.

* PlagueZombie: They are living corpses infected with some kind of demonic plague, but aren't contagious. Apparently they're people subjected to the Kuon spell who haven't been cocooned yet and thus are rotting away and will eventually die if left alone.

Grotesque mockeries of humans, transformed in fish-like, acid-spewing abominations. They dwell inside the pond of the mansion and the connected creeks.

* BodyHorror: Not only they are horrorifically rotten and reduced to crawling on all fours, but part of their bodies have become fish-like, with fins growing on their faces and their right leg half-fused with a massive fish tail growing on their back.

* GrossUpCloseUp: If you trigger the Mizuhiki ambush at [[spoiler: the Spring]], you'll get to see them in close up, in all their rotten, scaly glory.
* MakingASplash: Their other attacks has them attacking in all directions with splashing water.

* WasOnceAMan: They look like Gaki merged with ichtian features, implying that something with them went even wronger.
* WolfpackBoss: If you check a certain area in [[spoiler: the Manor's Spring]] after collecting the right PlotCoupon, you will trigger an attack by three starved Mizuhiki.

* BeastWithAHumanFace: They mostly resembles grotesque silkworms with rotting human heads on the top.

* BodyHorror: Adamushi resembles grotesque mishmashes of silkworms, cocoons and people, with the human-like heads and arms poking in on one side and a caterpillar-like body on the other.

* WasOnceAMan: From what you can deduct, Adamushi were subjects cocooned and put inside wicker chests, but weren't fit for the Kuon spell.

* ManiacMonkeys: They appears as huge, murderous monkeys with a taste for human flesh and great ferocity. Wether they are a result of the Kuon or not is unknown. Curiously, they have rather long tails, unlike Japanese Macaques.

* AnnoyingArrows: Not only it has several arrows embedded in its back, it also sports a katana stabbed in the chest.

* HopeSpot: The monster seems to not notice Sakuya's presence outside the hut and will only react to her if she enters the place at the wrong time, thinking it can be easily avoided... but as you leave the place with the mallet you needed, the game briefly shows the Mashira outside the hut suddenly turning his head towards Sakuya. Boss fight ensues.

The protagonist of chapter Yang. A disciple of the disgraced Onmyoji Ashiya Doman, when the master of the Fujiwara mansion fell ill, she was sent there by Doman alongside her fellow disciples Dochin, Dokai and Doryo, her brother. Sakuya fights with a handfan and starts the game in possession of a handful of spell cards.

* AllLovingHero: She grows fond of Utsuki, to the point that [[spoiler: even after learning the truth she swears to find a cure for her and even after Utsuki goes on with the final Kuon ritual she stops Seimei from killing her and rise the newborn Utsuki and give her the life Utsuki hadn't.]]

* CallingTheOldManOut: [[spoiler: When she learns from Doman that her co-disciples were nothing but sacrifices for the Kuon ritual, she angrily yells at him... and throw a fire spell for good measure.]]

* DidYouJustPunchOutCthulhu: [[spoiler: As she heads for the dungeons of the Mulberry Shrine, she decides to burn the Mulberry Tree down. Turns out, by doing so she actually killed one of the two twins permanently.]]
* OhCrap: She often has these reactions to the horrors she encounters, especially [[spoiler: seeing her mutated brother merged with Kureha.]]
* PaperTalisman: Her main form of magic, which she shares with Utsuki. She mostly uses offensive spells such as [[PlayingWithFire Hibari, Hien, Karyuu, Onibi]], [[AnIcePerson Se'in Sekka]] and [[AllWebbedUp Fuumon]].
* PluckyGirl: Sakuya is one determinated girl. [[spoiler: Learning what Utsuki really is doesn't deter her the slightest and still wants to save her.]]
* RageAgainstTheMentor: [[spoiler: Upon learning the full extent of Doman's treachery and what he did to Utsuki, she becomes determinated to stop him.]]

* TheAtoner: She had to live with the guilt of [[spoiler: causing Kureha's death, though it's implied that the Twins had something to do with it.]]
* BodyHorror: By the end of her chapter, [[spoiler: she's starting to rot, in dire need of a fresh body to merge with.]]
* EarnYourHappyEnding: [[spoiler: Zigzagged, the Mulberry Spirit implies that Utsuki's new form upon completing the Kuon ritual will be the seed of a new Mulberry tree, but thanks to the efforts of Seimei and Sakuya's vow, it's implied that the reborn Utsuki will live on a normal and happier life...however, {{WordOfGod}} states that this isn't actually Utsuki, but she's also as much as a rebirth of Utsuki as she is of those used as materials. Still, she does seem different than the Twins...]]

* HeroicWillpower: [[spoiler: Despite the fact that she merged with Kureha, she apparently is in control of her actions... most of the time, and manages to let Sakuya go and look for a cure. When Seimei enters the cellar, Utsuki has burned all the corpses in the dungeon to keep her hunger for flesh and blood at bay.]]

* RedOniBlueOni: She's the timid, demure and introspective blue Oni to Sakuya's lively red.

* SummonMagic: A good majority of her spells involve summoning. Aside from the above-mentioned Sute Gumo and Kugutsu Onna, she can also call upon the fearsome Saiga (a powerful wolf-like Shikigami), the Tsuchi Jogo (a bunch of hellish arms lying in wait which drag enemies stepping on them to hell) and Mari (an explosive living orb).
* UnreliableNarrator: If you play the Yang Chapter first, you'd notice that the events Utsuki goes through are identical to Sakuya even when it shouldn't make any sense... [[spoiler: turns out, the whole thing was dreamt by Utsuki as she was merging with her sister.]]

* WhamLine: Upon finding Kureha's bloodstained diary and reading it in a cutscene, we later see her writing something on it after you finish reading it. [[spoiler: It says that Kureha has finally killed Utsuki and has merged with her.]]

* BigGood: Arguably she plays this role in the story. Unusually, not only she shows up near the end, but she's also playable.

* CatharsisFactor: After everything Utsuki and Sakuya went through, it's incredibly satisfying having Seimei [[spoiler: seal the surviving Twin forever and kill Doman]], as well as deal with the monsters in a few attacks.
